Those abilities highlights with Yellow are the recommended abilities.
For Level 10 our guide doesn't have a highlighted ability, probably because it's up to you, they're all pretty equivalent to each other. I have the 'meh' ability for level 10 because I tend to focus on defense.
Otherwise, I would recommend following the Yellow-highlighted abilities as laid out in the guide. But feel free to diverge if you feel like it. 😉

Neopets will be down for maintenance tonight from 9PM NST and will last approximately 2 hours. This downtime is to upgrade their servers.

When you use a VPN or mobile network, you can be assigned a random IP address.
If this ip address happens to match one that is used by a bot/shell/cheat account, TNT will freeze your account and will not, under any circumstances, let you have it back. 
This has been happening to multiple innocent users over the past few months due to "mass freezings" by TNT. 
Imagine having your account frozen for literally no fault of your own.

I long ago quit using the Ninja School for training/ Red stones cost so much and I have to wait (I don't remember how long) 24 hours to up my stats.  I strictly train with cookies because I get a large boost in whatever stat I am granted.  What are max Strength and Defense? Does it just stop at a certain number? Do Level and Hit Points stop at a certain number too?
Finished off the last 2 JN battles. I'm hoping to see results tomorrow or the next day.

I've been trying to attach the pebble petpetpet from the advent calendar for so long. I decided it looked best with BlobWithFace the Blobikins rather than Uh-Oh the Christmas Rock, but the refreshing was getting to me. I was inspired by seeing someone with theirs in their shop, and got it out of storage. I played another game while refreshing, and noticed eventually that it was gone from my inventory. And here it is firmly attached! The neopet in question is named after a stuffed animal from the games with my siblings as a child. It's name was Thingy, and when i would draw it I gave it glasses.  It would be nice to name the pebble.

Hello, TDN! I'm coming back to neopets like many of y'all and found I could get into this old TDN account! SWEET! I gotta say I cringed for a good ten minutes reading through my old posts lol... But I'd lived and learned and decided to come back to neopets for this exciting new era. And that includes coming back to these forums to hang out with some fellow cool cats! I've been back to neo for about a month now and really loving the new features and updates and am excited to see where they go from here. Hopefully with less lag and site crashing! I'm mostly working on building up some wealth (TY food club!) and catching up on avatars and such. I finally passed 200 avvies on my account! And I actually finished a game of plushie tycoon without going bankrupt! 15 year old me would be so jealous. Hope you all are enjoying the "new neopets" as well ❤️ 

Hi Bonnie, I wonder if it was down so much because on the free item? I had problems too and some others I know. I think I read that the free item was only available yesterday but maybe because of problems with the Mall they will include the offer for today as well?

1:  I see good and bad.  They started this to reduce clutter that was slowing the site down, right?  The limit makes it fairer (sort of) to newbies, BUT the point system makes it unfair.  Instead of being able to donate 30 items of any quality and get good things, you've either got to spend a ton of NP, hope you had good stuff already, or just settle for so-so prizes.  I've been grabbing stuff that was worth more points in older events, but I'm already out of the stuff that was worth the maximum amount of points because I had zero idea how it'd work because they change the point system each year.  Do I buy a ton of things you can technically get for free every day at 10K each and hope to get some of that cash back, or do I go for the next tier down and hope that I can get enough NP to get enough good prizes to make up for what I've spent?  
2:  I like that they have a set of new things (petpet and the necklaces are, right?) AND a lot of old prizes.  I've been around for 20 years (wow, I feel old, lol) but wasn't active for a lot of it, so I've missed a lot of things like stamp giveaways or events (noooo!)  It's really nice that they are releasing some of the old stuff because there is no way I'll ever (especially with price gougers, especially since I've seen some theories a lot of those are using bots to grab items to inflate the prices of) be able to afford half the stuff I want-gourmet food, books, stamps, etc.  Would probably be better if they were doing it through things like the daily question, though.
3:  I also had no idea stuff like food club bets were controversial.  I don't see any problem with permanent events on the site giving better rewards as an account ages.  Gives you something to stick around for.  For limited time events, I think it's a lot less fair.  Hey, I'm new!  Oh, this event looks. . . oh, I'll just have to hope I can buy the prizes sometime in future when my account is older/I've got more np/I've just given up and become a price gouger so I can afford anything.  Cool.  
4:  I picked Illusen because I'm a goodie-two-shoes who likes light side stuff 😂  There are a couple things on Jhudora's side that I'd like to get, but eh.  Either way it'll be fine I'm sure?  I just always get a ton of anxiety over choices because I am always afraid I'll find out I've made the wrong one.

welcome back! you rejoined at a good time apparently, they're supposed to be releasing 50 updated games tomorrow.

I can't battle, I can't collect my bank interest and I can't spin Trudy's surprise.  I haven't tried Cup yet.

I went to the Altador cup page and clicked on one of the games and got this message: An Error occurred when connecting to neopets services! and then just for the fun of it, I clicked on my shop and it gave me a 403 Forbidden error. Anybody else seen this tonight?
update: one of my roommates tried her neopets account as well and she's getting the same messages. she filed a trouble ticket with neopets.

A majority of us made our Neopets accounts when we were younger, but what is it that's kept you addicted?

I had about 6000 NC sitting on there, I buy a big load of it every month from the Reddit Merch thread as it's a little bit discounted, helps me get boxes too! But I spent a lot of that on items, think I got at the very least double of most of them and 4-5 of others, I am sure things like the BG's, Cloak and blush (thoughts from hrtbrk and I agree!) will continue to be sought after. I'm kind of hoping some people just will miss it or older collectors come back after it's been gone for a bit, but hoping it will help me get my last few things I need.

thanks for the heads up! I don't have much neocash at the moment but I was able get 2 of the items.

Today TNT woke up and chose chaos! All these items are for sale in the NC Mall for this week only. Nearly all of them have ... or had shall I say ... a value of over 15 GBC's. Some like the Radiant Sunflower Arbour were 25+ GBC.

So if any of these retired items were on your wishlists, go and grab 'em quick! Values will decline significantly, but as they are only on sale for a week I suspect they will creep back up again at some point!
