  1. Phew! Glad I didn't miss sign-ups this week! Going with the odds-on-favorite, the Order.
  2. I haven't done much with Neo this year to call an "accomplishment". Hopefully in 2023, especially that rumored battle-plot, I hope to do even better than I was able to in the Obelisk War! My stats have come a long way since then, since barely being able to start red-stone training, my stats have risen a lot for the casual training I put my peophin through. All his stats, not counting Movement, are getting nicely above 3000. I still wish it were easier for Defense to keep pace with Strength and Health, but oh well. lol I know training anything other than HP is kinda moot, but I don't mind. I mostly go with Faerie Quests for training these days. Might as well get stats out of those fortune cookies, even if they don't always help in actuality. Except for movement, I rarely do Air Faerie quests if I get them, and I never do Kaia quests either. As long as the rest are reasonable in price, I'll do them, especially compared to the cost of red codestone training. It's kind of funny. My stats sure have changed, but my battle set hardly has since the Obelisk War. Still the same freezer, healer, Downsize!, and bomb. The major change was switching out Stone Foam Finger and Altador Cup Throwing Star with Burning Embers and Sword of Malum to the line-up as my constant and strongest multi-use weapons. With 2 spots I can change up depending on what adversary TNT throws at us in that rumored battle plot that has inflated almost ALL decent battle equipment. So I really don't foresee changing my set anytime soon. Even if I could afford the 500% and higher mark-ups, I wouldn't buy now, on principle, as well as the fact that I make NP waaaaaaaay tooooooo sloooooooooow to replace it after such crazy price inflation if I was more than just tempted. LOL I HOPE they fix "Stealing" for the new battle plot. I loved stealing the Prismatic Mirror from Envy during the Obelisk War, I didn't always GET it when I stole from him, but that was SUPER fun, since we players will likely never get hold of one for our own use. I'm thinking the plot will be a way to test fixes to the BD, which, will PROBABLY include an end to the faerie abilities of the 1p opponents not working as well as they are meant to. So, that's gonna stink, if I'm right about that. But, oh well. TNT likes to stack the deck after all. Anyway, my Kaibajouryuuki's current stats. Species: Peophin Colour: Christmas Gender: Male Age: 6,971 days Level: 1,771 Health: 3414 / 3414 Mood: extremely happy Hunger: not hungry Strength: ULTIMATE (3351) Defence: ULTIMATE (3239) Move: ULTIMATE (1440) Intelligence: ULTIMATE GENIUS (3029) I also don't think I've missed a single day of Trudy's Surprise this year, so far.
  3. Wow! I've MISSED Test Your Strength! Not that I usually do well on it. lol But it was a fun way to blow a few NP on a chance. Looks like they got a LOT done this update, that's great!
  4. A cousin of mine met her husband through an online dating thing. I, haven't really had much of any kind of luck or good experience when I've looked into those sites. lol Maybe because I think the prices are over-inflated, especially the ones where only the guys gotta pay to converse. I can see paying for dinner and a movie, the gentlemanly thing to do, but for messaging or just even sending a "hi" without an actual message? Seriously?! No thanks! They work for some people. Some looking for love, some not looking for serious, and there's those of us it doesn't CLICK with. lol Whatever works I suppose, as long as it's on the up and up, as they say. I tend to be a bit overly verbose when I type anyway, so, yeah. Message limitations are for the birds. Guess I'll just stick to IRL and hope to luck. lol Would be nice to meet someone who'd inspire me to write poetry again. I kinda miss composing. lol XD
  5. You're welcome @mewthree21, I'm glad you found a reasonably priced upgrade to the Flaming Oven Gloves! As for which you should equip. I would say leave that to your playstyle and which opponent you fight. For example, against the Giant Space Fungus, you check his profile, https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/challenger-giant-space-fungus and click on his equipment to see what each piece does. In battling him. Your Hanso Charisma Charm and Hubrid Nox shield, would stop almost all of his damage, though you could change it up and use your Craftsmans Lens to reflect half of his light and earth back at him while blocking any/all dark with the Hanso Charisma Charm which also does 10 icons of damage as a dual-duty weapon. In which case you wouldn't need either sword, "technically" speaking. The current list of all challengers is on this page, but the ones currently in the BD are the Active Challengers. https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/secret-challengers I don't know why we don't have a page specifically for the actives and one for retired/past plot opponents, but I don't make the pages, and those staff have a lot to handle already. Anyway, if you wanted to go against, something with Fire weapons, say, Edna the Witch. https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/challenger-edna-the-witch That would be a time to switch in your new Golden Garfir Helm for the fire/light combo defense. I recommend keeping some of your slots fluid, so that you can fight with say, 6 main pieces of equipment, and have 2 slots that you are alright with switching out if needed based on what a new opponent has in their arsenal. Whenever the next battle-plot happens, TDN staffers will be fighting to figure out what weapons and abilities each new opponent has and then get that info into the challengers database as soon as possible. Hope this answers your question.
  6. @mewthree21, lol Considering what you must've spent on that battle equipment, I can understand you being nervous. lol But don't worry, that set is quite good and is more powerful than any of my weapons or shields that I regularly use. I've thought about getting a Sword of Reif, but I've been in "saving-mode" for so long, that I just can't part with that much NP right now. lol My DREAM weapon would be Skarls Sword, but I'll need another decade or more to afford it of what few exist out there. Skarls Sword is actually not terribly powerful, but it would be a useful dual-duty weapon and I really love it's graphic. lol Anyway, you've got a pretty top-notch set. The only thing that would make it stronger would be the Pea-family of weapons. Which everything is inflated now because of the rumor of an upcoming battle plot in the new year. For Defense, consider getting a Downsize!, as I suggested to Granny, and switch it in if you find yourself taking too much damage from an opponent that your shields won't block icons from. It will reduce damage taken by 50% once per battle. A lifesaver at times, and it's cheap. lol If you are worried about switching an item out, you could temporarily equip it to one of your other pets, until you need it again. Looking at your shields, you don't have anything to block fire-icons. Hanso's Charimsa Charm takes care of Dark while attacking with 10 icons, and Hubrid Nox's Shield takes a chunk out of earth, wind, water, physical, and also 100% of light. But your Craftsmans Lens is a bit redundant in that it reflects 50% of Earth and 50% of Light. Granted, this can be a good way of defending and attacking at the same time. But you should consider something with Fire Defense. A simple and CHEAP shield, Flaming Oven Gloves, block 5 Fire and 2 Light icons. And they are VERY cheap. Having one of those in your inventory to switch out with either Sword or your Craftsman Lens would be a good idea if you fight an opponent that has fire in their arsenal. There are other fire blockers and reflectors, but they are a bit more pricey and rare. Fire always has been a tricky icon to block for some reason. I can't restock either, so I understand the limitations that brings by way of funds. I play Trudy's Surprise daily, and for stats, I also visit Coltzan's Shrine. USUALLY the stat I get help with is intellect, but rarely I'll get a Strength or Defense boost of a several points. Also, for training, you might consider Kitchen Quests on Mystery Island. Doing these quests can SOMETIMES yield a 1 point gain in a random stat. Any except for intelligence. That includes Agility. But, since the item and NP prizes you can also get are rather low-value. I'd recommend limiting yourself to 5,000np per quest. That's what I do. If you get a stat point, great, if you get np, you'll be out around 4k np, if you get an item, it might be worth that much, it might not be. But you can go with whatever amount you feel is worth the gamble. You can do 10 on-site quests per day. That means that Kitchen Quests, Edna's Quests, Snow Faerie Quests, etc. all count toward those 10 completed quests per day. The count resets at midnight NST. I think that covers everything, let me know if I missed something or if you have any other questions.
  7. @Granny63020, I mostly use the Faerie Quest Cookies as well. Training with codestones just takes forever at 1 point per training session, unless you get the uncommon bonus(es). Giant Space Fungus used to be pretty popular, and probably still is. I tend to go after Shadow Usul before doing Faction skirmish battles. I used to go after Jelly Chia for it's rarer drops, but they became less rare and thus, worth less NP. Like I said in my post, you really don't have to do much with your stats as far as if you train them specifically with codestones. Since the max benefit, a 16x boost multiplier is achieved at 750 for both Strength and Defense. If you're going to do codestone training, I would focus on your level, maybe your HP. Since HP can be trained to 3x your Level, some people don't bother with defense and just go for HP and Strength. You already have your Strength and Defense maxed, so getting a higher level and more HP would be a potentially good idea for your training. If you need any help on battle equipment, just post in the Batledome forum and I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice! I'm always happy to help battlers with figuring out their sets, and if you're on a tight budget, budget battling is my specialty. lol IF you ever want to try something for Defense, I would recommend a Downsize! as it's cheap and blocks 50% of all damage once per battle. Avoid getting the Downsize Power Plus! Which is retired and is a one-use only and then it's gone forever. Instead, Thick Smoke Bombs do the same, block 100% of damage once and then are forever gone, but they are much cheaper and can be bought at the "secret" Ninja Training School. You probably know this already, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.
  8. Not bad stats @mewthree21! Movement is only really useful to train to 201 for right now, for the Heavy Robe of Thievery's stealing. Though I think that feature, stealing, is still broken right now. Anyway, you can always focus on the other stats and increasing movement when you get air faerie quests. Since those are 3 points per quest, and sometimes cookies give out the same faerie a couple of days in a row. Trust me, I did balanced training of all stats as well with my peophin. I HOPE that TNT adds more boosts to the pets who are trained to 750+ strength and defense, since 750 is currently the highest you can train and get any kind of improvement from. I'll be posting my stats below too. @Granny63020, Nice stats and battle record! You've got a LOT of weapons, not much on defensive gear in your set. But everyone has their own style of battling. So, my peophin's stats and battle record. i don't battle daily like I used to. And the majority of my losses are from Envy during the Obelisk War. I think 414, if I recall correctly. My defense is a LITTLE lopsided to Strength because Quest Cookies do tend to give out more strength increasing quests than defense increasing quests. I tried to keep 'em balanced. lol Same with HP. Although I know it's pointless to train stats beyond 750 other than HP. *shrug* One never knows with TNT, it MAY come in useful someday. Most of my agility came from Air Faerie and Soup Faerie quests from the quest cookies. My battle set includes Golden Peophin Harp as a Freezer, Ghostkerbomb, Downsize!, Blazing Embers, Sword of Malum, Bag of Healing Dust, Mysterious Red Potion, and Pretty Negg Shield. I've been using that Downsize! for-EVER. LOL Golden Peophin Harp is my 2nd oldest item in this set. Ghostkerbomb, Bag of Healing Dust. I only replaced a few of my weapons with Blazing Embers and Sword of Malum after that event. Mysterious Red Potion is nice if you use it correctly, and the Pretty Negg Shield I wanted to try out/test. I change my set as needed though for opponents. Mainly the last 2 slots I will switch out for reflectors or shields as the opponent I'm facing warrants.
  9. I've joined The Sway. @mewthree21, exactly! Since the Seekers are the logical 2nd choice here. Not just going by Oxbridge's predictions, but in this line-up, by virtue of the popular boons the other two faction choices have. It's still an educated guess though as to which faction will win. That's cool that your battle pet is at a high level. Mind if I ask it's stats? Unfortunately, I don''t know if the higher ranking/tiered opponents count more than the weaker obelisk opponents. Since you only need 10 victories of any of them to qualify for either the boon selection or consolation prize. I have a sneaking suspicion it MIGHT just be victories vs each faction. I typically favor a 2/3rds to 1/3rd plan for the skirmishes. If it's really close especially like in this case. I would fight The seekers twice, for every battle I battle against the Thieves. Fortunately, skirmish battles with my peophin don't take very long. One round and on to the next battle against the faction leaders. So it's just a matter of remembering to battle. ^^; LOL
  10. I haven't decided yet, but I'm leaning toward The Sway. They have the advantage according to Oxbridge's stat-predictions. Plus, like the seekers, they have some excellent boons. That's enough to sway my vote. The thing is, that if we go for The Sway, we should focus a lot of battles against The Seekers, since they too, will be a popular choice, as they ALSO have the Bank Bribery boon, which is quite popular. But there should be some battles fought against the Thieves, otherwise, they could emerge with a come-from-behind victory while The Sway and The Seekers beat each other up. lol
  11. Congrats on getting on the waiting list! Good luck with your first apartment when your turn comes up! Honestly, not much "good" has happened to me in the last few months, or this year really.... lol Guess I can say I started on an old project for the first time in ages, and it feels good having something artistic to do more frequently. Had been in a rather dry patch recently as far as creative things go. I'm also looking forward to Christmas, seeing my niece and nephew mainly, and seeing their reaction to the gifts I got them. It ain't easy shopping for new and old teenagers. lol (One is 13 and one is 19. lol)
  12. Ah so THAT'S how! It's been so long since I saw an MME I forgot! Thanks to this post I know there is a new MME and how to get ALL the items for it. Thanks! Also got the new monthly collectable and a Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie because I only have a couple days left on mine. But I only JUST got them. I was out of town on Black Friday and didn't know there was gonna be a sale in the NC Mall. Whoops! ^^;
  13. Congrats! So I went to your profile to check out what an Ice Hissi looks like, and when I clicked on him I got this message..... lol Thanks! I didn't even know that was an avatar! XD Congrats again on getting your ice hissi! Good luck with your next pet-endeavor!
  14. lol Whoops! No worries! And here I thought someone had something to say about some of my shares here.
  15. Been playing Dragon Quest XI lately. BIG fan of the franchise, ever since the first game for the NES. It's pretty amazing to see how far it's come since then and how they keep coming up with new nuances and features to keep each new game FRESH, interesting and FUN.
  16. An IRL Advent Calendar? Sorry, I haven't. But it would be interesting what Neopets would do with something like that. Maybe a keychain toy to fit behind each door? lol Anyway, if they put out merch of an IRL Advent Calendar, that would be interesting. They could certainly print item codes behind some or all of the doors. THAT would be pretty cool.
  17. Going with The Sway, the predictions are fairly close and I prefer The Sway's boons. So I'll take that gamble and see if they win.
  18. An old anime I have on dvd. Final Fantasy Unlimited. Just a few episodes left.
  19. Same! Thanks hrtbrk! I just got home from being out of town for 5 days. (Mom had some back surgery and is doing wonderfully after it.) I'm so glad I checked the forums just now! Would've HATED to miss out on the bags and their treats!
  20. Likewise, I play on my PC only, and my phone is too old/dumb for such apps. Smart phones may have their usefulness at times, but I'm fine with talk and txt, though I much prefer talk to txting. Will probably have to replace mine soon, but I can't see shelling out enough to buy a new laptop or something, for a phone. PLUS paying for data for a smart phone? Not worth it (to me) imho.
  21. What are "d2r" games? I'm not familiar with that term. Your analysis of games and their effect(s) on cognition are interesting, and I would say in general, that I agree that playing games can help kids in various ways mentally and emotionally in both stimulating and calming the brain. As well as inspiring and entertaining it, of course. Lastly, I would indeed agree that the evidence is encouraging. As for me, I game too, I like to sketch and dabble in animation as a hobby. Though I'd love to improve on the quality of both. I read occasionally, not as much as I used to, but I read a LOT of text on the net day-to-day so I suppose that's why I haven't read as many books as I used to read. I enjoy listening to music, sometimes chatting with friends. And i dabble a bit in writing and "world-building", in that sense. Would love to design a game, but I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag. lol As for what games I play? Offline, I definitely prefer RPGs, or games with story that require strategy and critical thinking. Online, I play Neopets, dabble with Flight Rising and play a free-to-play MMO called AdventureQuest3D. A cross-platform MMO that you can play on android, iOS, and computers, via Steam. There is a pay aspect to AQ3D, for a 1-time fee of $25 you can unlock guardianship. You get access to the Guardian Tower, the Job Class, and some game-wide perks. Dragon Guardian is $50, basically you get a tiny amount of extra perks, and a good amount of the game's premium currency, Dragon Crystals. Either package is only a one-time thing, and it's good forever then. There is no player-trading system, so any items you want, you have to earn or craft yourself. But you can party up and grind for the items required to craft said items. You can be a top player without ever paying a penny too. A HUGE draw in the game are the cosmetic-equipment and items. They are always parodying pop-culture stuff. You could change your character to look like Luffy, from One Piece, Saitama, from One-Punch Man, etc. etc. Most equipment is for everyone, some of it may require you to be a guardian to equip it, but not usually to obtain it. Many of the permanent travel forms you can get are guardian-only, though the free consumable and the free permanent travel forms travel at the same speeds. So there's no real advantage unless you want a specific look of a specific travel form. There are multiple job/classes to master, they JUST released a new one, Samurai, the other day! It's, pretty powerful, but I haven't finished unlocking all the skills yet. Each Class has skills up to the 10th rank/level. Get to rank 10 to maximize that job's abilities and get a nice cross-over skill to use with another job equipped. (1 Cross-skill can be equipped at a time). Each class has 4 attacks besides the default auto-attack. 3 skills and an ultimate that takes time to build up before you can use it. I've played games from this company for a long time. Not QUITE as long as Neopets, but I remember some people on the neoboards talking about the original AdventureQuest, back in the day. Which launched in 2002. I started playing I think, around 2003. THAT game is still going, not missing at least 1 weekly update since it's launch. It was originally Flash, now it's accessed via the Artix Etnertainment Launcher. A program you can download to access any of their games. Unlike Neopets, the people over at AE saw the death of Flash coming and converted their game worlds BEFORE Flash died. I think quite a lot about the company and it's founder, Artix, who plays a Paladin. Actually, if you visit their site and check out the Heromart, they have an original 8-bit ROM game file (use a Nintendo/NES emulator to play), called Dungeons & Doomknights. First and only one of their real-life products I've bought. lol Oh you get some codes to get some fun cosmetic stuff in AQ3D and a couple other games, but the game itself is really pretty fun! Kind of reminds me of the King's Quest games, only with a Castlevania feel and action to it. Artix himself did most of the coding and designing of that game. You can find lots of cool vids about AQ3D on Youtube. Gold Raven's channel is a good place to start. With all sorts of how-to videos. Anyway, AQ3D is a fun game, and if you like MMO's but don't want to bleed your wallet dry, this is a great alternative to those MMO's that focus more on the money end of things, or charge a monthly subscription fee. Because like I said, AQ3D is FREE-to-Play! Current max player level is 38. Game is presently in Open-Beta. I use this wiki site a lot for AQ3D. http://aq-3d.wikidot.com/ Especially if I don't log in for awhile Lots of GREAT info and links to the official site too! Oh yeah, you get a daily treasure chest, inside are some neat goodies. From FREE Dragon Crystals, to boosters (gold, exp, class exp,) travel forms, to even pets and cosmetic armor you can only get from the daily treasure chests! Time to open between treasure chests is 23 hours. Game/Server time is Eastern time zone in the USA. They are based in Florida.
  22. Remember you need to win 10 battles minimum to qualify. Oxbridge786's prediction.
  23. WOW! @GillyTook, that's crazy! It reminds me of a friend of mine who got rear-ended by a Semi truck a number of years ago. I'm pretty sure it was before she became a mom though. She drove a smaller car back then, a 2-door. So it was just her and her hubby at the time. Though that was down in a metropolitan area, I think near Milwaukee, if my rusty memory is recalling correctly. @Mouseykins, that's one way to look at it. You can trust yourself on the road, but not others. Also, what happens if there is some sort of emergency? You might HAVE to drive somewhere. It's good experience to have and to do it right by having a license and knowing the rules of the road. That lady I almost hit maybe didn't even have a license anymore, it's possible. I heard on the news about a guy who'd been driving 50 years and only was just found out to not have a license! I had ANOTHER close-call today. Some jerk in a truck was waiting to turn into my lane near an overpass. There was NOT enough space between the car ahead of me and myself for him to safely do this, so I had to jut out to the right lane which tapers and ends a few hundred feet ahead. Just because I was mad, I gunned it, made sure I was safely past that jerk and then went into that lane before the right lane ended. TWO close calls IN TWO DAYS if freakin' NUTS! I live in a pretty rural town. Only slightly over 6,000 people. Today's incident was just out of town near the highway. The jerk from today could've waited literally 2 seconds for me to be past him because nobody was behind me at all.
  24. Thanks! Yeah, bad drivers are a major pet-peeve of mine. Bad enough when drivers weave in and out of lanes, or turn without using their turn signals. This old lady, didn't even do that. I noticed her movement, and took my foot off the gas, if I hadn't, then I don't think I could've stopped in time when she DID pull out into the street, blocking all traffic on that side. I mean, the turn signals are SO easy, and they let people know if you want to change lanes, or turn off. So they know if they need to slow down to accommodate you or whatever. It's polite, it's the law, and it saves lives. Plus, you're less likely to get horn-blasted if you let them know you're about to make a certain move that involves turning or changing lanes. Agreed, bad weather is one thing, but today was only a little overcast. If you can't drive in clear weather, then you shouldn't be on the road. I mean, it's a privilege, not a right. Though it IS necessary for MOST people to do errands or go to work. But it's still only a privilege. Heh, sorry for venting again. I'm tired of bad drivers. They've been increasing more and more around here, even though tourist season is now over here.
  25. So I'm driving home after going to the grocery store. There's a truck in the meridian going left, and 2 open lanes where this old lady is waiting to leave Aldi's.... this person, starts pulling out, BEFORE THE TRUCK MOVES. So she begins BLOCKING BOTH LANES OF TRAFFIC! Starting positions as I'm driving toward this area. The Vs and ^s indicate the direction of traffic for those lanes. |_V_|_V_|_Truck_|_^_|_^_|Old lady After I was able to come to a stop... Old lady had the road ENTIRELY blocked. I was about 6-8 feet away from hitting her door. |_V_|_V_|_Truck_|Oldlady| If I hadn't slammed on my brakes as HARD AS POSSIBLE, I WOULD'VE totally slammed RIGHT into her. I blasted my horn, but all she does is clear her ear, smiles and waves at me as she turns around me! People like that need their licenses REVOKED!!!! I am so furious right now! >( Still shaking with how close that was!
