  1. A good plan indeed! Oooooof! Ouch, that's a big hit on the Parachute First Aid Kit. I hope when the plot starts it'll go back up a bit for you so your loss won't be as painful there.
  2. Going with the Seekers for the boon selection. Looks like even Oxbridge isn't too sure of whom they think will win after so many failed predictions recently.
  3. Yes! I've seen a screenshot of someone who had both bombs equipped at the same time! Varia is stronger than my constant weapons, but would only be useful for battles where I wouldn't need a major follow-up. Good thing I almost never 2p battle. lol I ended up trading for Shield of Faerieland and the Culture book, So I'll probably go with the 2 TCGs, Varia, and see how many points I have left over. I haven't figured that part out yet. I'd like to have some extra items for "investment" reasons, but that might not happen thanks to how few prize points were available compared to how many awesome prizes there are. I still can't believe they didn't nerf the Feel Better Soup. I mean, talk about taking the air out of the healer market. Species healers and Bag of Healing Dust prices took a hit on that! Don't get me wrong, I'm a budget battler and that's great for people like me who don't make a ton of NP, but it does irk me slightly, considering the price I paid for my Bag of Healing Dust back in the day. lol If they don't nerf Feel Better Soup, I might just keep that and sell off my Bag of Healing Dust to recoup some of that NP, but, we'll see what TNT does or doesn't do with that. If you haven't sold your Parachute First Aid Kit yet, you might wait to sell it until closer to whenever the battle plot breaks out. The prices might be highest for sellers at that point. Good luck getting an H4000 Helmet!
  4. Indeed! At 25 constant icons, "Varia is the Bomb" is nice! I'd love one for my gallery, but I'm not sure yet. The G-bomb has variable offense, up to 32 icons max if I recall correctly. So the Varia bomb would INDEED be a good in-betweener for you, especially for the time-being! But it's really up to you. The Shield of Faerieland was exciting to see, but again, due to the maximum number of points for collecting fragments, I don't know if I'd get it, even though it would save a fair bit of NP. I don't have any of the HT shields. I plan on getting the Fyora TCG card, but I'm not sure how I'd break down the rest of the points yet.
  5. LOL TRUE! I actually have some of both from the Shore. At one time I considered morphing my peophin, but seeing as my Freezing weapon is a Peophin Specific weapon, the Golden Peophin Harp, I'd have to buy a new freezer. I would prefer not do that. Maybe when my peophin is a bit stronger I'll get a Draik. Then I can paint it Maraquan with a stored Fountain Faerie Quest. lol
  6. I chose a peophin for my first pet after a LOT of looking through the species that were available at the time. Draik would've been my 2nd choice, I like the Maraquan Draik a lot. But Draiks are limited edition. So I don't have one, could hatch a pirate draik egg, but I'm good for pets right now, maybe someday. As for LEAST favorite, Chias, then Kikos, definitely. Chias are just, Uuuuuuuugly. Especially their basic form. Kikos, the band-aid on them really is kinda gross to me. Also, why do so many have them? Are they accident-prone or what? I mean, if they were on the bottom of them, like if they had to bounce along, that would make sense, but on the top of them? Weird. Grundos, yeah not getting one of those either. I also really like Xweetoks, an Ice Bori would've been cool, but I never cashed in on the promo back when the Boris were a new species, so I lost out on that one. lol I'm pretty ok with most of the rest, but mainly only ok. One last note about Unis, that having no defined eye kinda bugs me, makes 'em look a little like taxidermy in a way. Otherwise, I might've gone with one of them for my first pet.
  7. Wow, some interesting things still in the Vortex! I haven't seen ANY of those yet. My pet's fishing skill is at 500 (maxed). But I usually still reel in junk. lol Good to know there's some interesting things swimming around down there.
  8. Thanks @Angeló! I voted and got a Symol Backpack, worth about 23np I think when I checked the Super wiz. lol Off to look at those stamps now, thanks again!
  9. Oh? That's good to know, what is the name of the stamp so I can check it out? ^^; This was my prize for today's Neopies. Worth 30np on the super wiz when I looked it up. lol Banana Slorg Pie
  10. Looking at those pics, it was Faerie Tales of Escape. Good luck getting the Rock petpet. I wouldn't mind getting the stamp, or the Rock petpet. lol
  11. Neat looking prize! I went with Stuffing Stufftacular as well for the category. I got a faerie book (I forget the name) that was worth a "whopping" 2500np! lol It was one I hadn't read, so my peophin got to read it instead of me selling it. lol
  12. At least your prizes look kind of neat. I forget what I got for today's Neopie selection, but it was only worth 50np on the super wiz when i checked.
  13. Went with the Candy Hissi because, who doesn't like Gummi Worms? lol But I got a Crater Fruit Elixir. Man, I think I've only had 1 item worth over 1k np so far. I'm really getting tired of just getting junk items. I get enough of those just doing my usual activities on the site.
  14. Man, I keep getting junk items from the Neopies. There should be a minimum (player) market value of 1000np. Gotten a few items worth less than 100np so far. Got an "Elegant Cup of Tea" today. Cheapest on the Super Wiz, 750np.
  15. I've just decided and signed with The Sway, I've cast my vote in this topic's poll as well to reflect this. lol Good luck!
  16. I'm KIND OF leaning toward The Sway. Oxbridge's predictions have been off the last... 3 times I think. Last time, I bucked their prediction and went for The Seekers, who won. With The Sway and The Order so close in their chances. I'm thinking that maybe bucking the trend again and going with The Sway might be a good bet again. After all, with Pre-war inflation, I would imagine that people want to shore up their NP as much as possible, and Seeker and Sway boons, specifically Bank Bribery, would help with that. I've not made a final decision yet, but that's where my thinking is right now. I'll watch the poll a bit, and wait and see.
  17. Interesting! Almost done listening to this. Interesting, but not quite as informative as I had hoped. Still, for a first podcast, not bad. Didn't know they had art staff in Ukraine, I thought relocating to CA was a requirement to be part of TNT, I guess that must've changed over the years or something.
  18. Right and if you've won 10 or more battles during the skirmish. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.
  19. TBH I'm thinking about bucking the trend/prediction in this case and going with The Seekers. I don't care for the Brute Squad's boons, and I would imagine people probably want boons that will help increase their NP holdings with the war-inflation going on before the battle-plot has even been announced. I haven't decided for sure yet. But that's the way I am leaning on this one.
  20. That's WEIRD! I get the Full Pockets boon as well and I haven't had any trouble with mine the last time I was part of the winning faction, so a few weeks or so ago. I guess you'll have to wait for the ticket to be replied to, unless someone else here has any ideas? I think the boon adds 1000np to each card's win. I can't confirm this, but when you win an item, it gives you 1000np as a bonus to the item. But yes, it's best to wait to play them until you're part of the winning faction to scratch your Space Faerie Scratchcards.
  21. Frankly, I prefer the Order's boons to the Thieves boons. Though I prefer the Seekers above the Order's. lol Odd that the Thieves won this round. Oh well, there's always next time!
  22. OH! LOL Freezing Potion, right. lol Yeah, well Moehog Skull is a rare scratchcard prize, not sure if it can be obtained elsewhere, as a event prize or something. Thundersticks, cost 3500 AC prize points. I'm annoyed because I could only get 1104 AC prize points last year. The tedium is my least favorite part about the AC. If our goals for YYB counted for our own prize points, and not just team rank, I think that'd get more people to play for more quality, than just quantity of games. On top of that, they released multiple stamps and such besides the Thundersticks. After the AC I remember the stamps were going for around 25mil PER stamp! Eclipsing the value, by a lot, of previous years' AC stamps. It was utterly insane! If you want to reach the highest boost/multiplier of 16, then yes. Getting both Strength and Defense to 750 is the way to get there. There aren't many ways to reduce stats for a pet. The Lab Ray and Coincidence can do it, and some wheels can reduce your INT. But, most R/Es and quests increase stats. I recommend working on Strength, Defense, and HP. Agility/Movement, is only needed for a couple of items, but if you want a good stealer, when TNT fixes Stealing, You'll need a movement stat of 201 for the Heavy Robe of Thievery, which is a 100% chance of a random steal from your opponent. Some opponents have junk items like Red Apples, so that you don't steal anything good. lol Sneaky TNT. Anyway, once your strength and movement reach 750 they will have no further effect on your attack or defense, so you can then focus on Level and HP. There are several other ways to train besides using the training schools that require dubloons/codestones. Kitchen Quests and Random Faerie Quests are both your best bets to supplement codestone training. For Random Faerie Quests, if you buy NC, you can purcahse Faerie Quest Fortune Cookies, the pink and gold ones, that allow you 1 faerie quest per day for 9 days from the moment you open it, you have to go to where you turn them in to accept your daily quest. Then you can either complete or cancel it. Though the amount of stat points you get is a bit higher than the training schools. I do recommend this method if you are able to do it. Sadly, you need to activate defense items as well. As you know, each round you can choose 2 items to use for that round and 1 faerie ability. This is why Dual-Duty weapons, weapons that can do more than just attack, are so useful. But are intentionally not super powerful, or have certain limitations on them because otherwise, if they were multi-use, they'd be far too strong and give the player the advantage over whomever they were fighting.
  23. Hmm I believe the Magical Marbles of Mystery have 3 Physical icons only, besides the 100% freeze. But you are right that the Marbles have some attack, while the H4000 Helmet does not. Regardless of type of icon, your opponent will still take 3 icons of damage from the Marbles if you use them with either Lens Flare or Warlock's Rage abilities. The only thing you'd have to worry about with the Marbles/Trident combo, would be if they used Shhhhhhhhh.. and had something that blocked a lot of physical, such as a Winged Scarab or Altadorian Swordbreaker My freezer, the Golden Peophin Harp, has 3 icons of dark defense. Not not as useful as often as the Marbles would be, but it's saved my rear when used against the right opponent at the right time. Yep! You're right. If you used a freezer and Lens Flare, then your next turn will see your opponent also frozen for that round as well. So using them together does basically give you a 2-round freeze. If you use Lens Flare, then the combo of Warlock's Rage and 100% Freezer, you can get 3 free turns. At least the way the BD is currently working. If TNT fixes it so the ability "Shhhhhhhhh..!" works for use by the 1p opponents. Then that strategy won't be as foolproof as it is now. If your gut tells you to go for the Marbles, then it's fine to go with your gut! If you ever want a freezer that is a greater dual-duty, you would have to shell out a LOT more NP. Moehog Skull and Thundersticks are both the BEST in the dual-duty freezer department that I can think of. Did a little looking and Moehog Skull has 15 icon attack, 10 icon defense as well as 100% freeze once per battle. Thundersticks have 1 more icon of attack and block all Physical for it's defense. Gotta say, I'm kind of amazed with the Thundersticks, given it being a prize from the AC and all. lol Wishing I had been able to earn one from last year's AC. lol Your strategy is fine, so yeah, if you want to go after the Marbles, go for 'em!
  24. Hi @GillyTook. I was confused by the whole battle-system when I first started playing Neo. Heck, I thought you could fight without a weapon because pretty much EVERY game has a no-weapon way to attack. Except Neopets, though in the old BD there were some species attacks you'd auto-learn based on your pet's level. Those no longer exist. For training. You can train your stats to double the level that you're at, except HP, which can be trained to triple your level, but if a stat goes over that formula, from a random event, visiting Coltzan's Shrine, or certain quest rewards, then you'd have to train level to train other stats. TDN's Fast Training Guide might be of use to you. https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/fast-battle-training Ah yes, the icons and boosts. A tricky concept from the beginning, imho. Basically, weapons and defensive gear focus on different amounts of icons of different types. Elemental types and then Physical. If you have a weapon that does a constant number of icons, it's easy to figure out how much damage you'll do if you know your boost. See, your strength and defense stat numbers are pretty much meaningless unless they reach certain milestone marks, called Boosts. The boost is a multiplier. If you have a weapon that does a constant 5 icons of damage, and your strength is where your's is, between 125-200. Then your boost, or multiplier, is 3. So you would do 15 points of damage if none of it is blocked. No matter where you are in that numerical range, your boost is 3. Getting Strength and Defense to 750 maxes out your boost with a multiplier of 16. Some of us train BEYOND 750, but really, that's unnecessary at this point because a pet at 750 strength, will do the SAME damage with the same weapon as a pet with 7,500 strength. It's a unique system, to be sure. ONLY system like it that I've come across. It's pretty bizarre. You MIGHT find TDN's introduction to the battledome article series helpful. The articles are actually pretty short and there aren't a lot of them. https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/introduction-to-the-battledome Yeah, I prefer to avoid single use, or Fragile equipment too. Semi-Fragile or Once per battle I'm ok with because you don't have to buy them again. To answer your question on Training or Equipment. I'd say training. Equipment is pretty expensive right now that it has been revealed that there will be a battle plot this year. If you want to check out the list of boosts we have a page for that too. It'll show you each boost and what the minimum requirement is for each strength/defense boost. I hope this helps! https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/strength-defense-boosts @Duma lol Same here, I've got pages of junk BD equipment too. I forget how many, but it was a lot the last time I checked! lol The H4000 Helmet might be cheaper for you as a freezer. It looks like the Marbles are going for 7mil on the TP right now. The main difference is that the Marbles give you a 3 icon attack besides freezing once per battle. 17 Cookies? Nice! I'm glad they increased the duration of the cookies to 9 days from 7. Makes the price a bit more worth it. I'm glad this topic helped get you in the mood to train and battle again! I was hoping these topics would help people out with that.
  25. Would love to see return, two games I used to ROCK at! Mootix Drop and Hubrid's Hero Heist. I have the gold trophies for both games. But they were decently entertaining games to earn NP from. Definitely 2 of my favorites! When Mootix Drop comes back, I hope they fix the levels in the Insane difficulty.
