LOL It's ok, I've been there where you think, or dream, that you've replied to someone but actually hadn't. I'm so very glad that you're having so much more success now! Sounds like you're doing great! I'm glad you're having so much fun! That's something I loved when my pet was still in the intermediate training ranges too! Trying to tackle stronger opponents and trying to find different ways with different types of equipment to win! While I still have fun battling, SOME of that thrill isn't there because my pet has so much HP (just at 5,055 as of tonight). Still, there are opponents I haven't beaten yet on stronger difficulty levels. But some of those are so overwhelming that it's not much fun even trying. Like Snowager on Medium or Mighty. lol Between 15,000-32,000hp if memory serves me correctly, depending on which of those two difficulties I would choose. He's only got about 750 on Weak though, so that's doable. Anyway, sorry for getting onto that tangent. It's also fun for me to help newer battlers like you with sets and opponents. Hearing that you're having so much FUN with battling now brings back that old thrill for me. Just glad I could help someone else experience the fun that the BD has to offer. Muffins are ok, but they're only 1-use, so you'd want to use something like, Water Muffins or Brain Muffins, something with 15 icons. But really, your combo of Varia is the Bomb and Turned Tooth should do more damage on average than using muffins. If you're having trouble defeating an opponent, there are the 50% reflectors, most of them are fragile and will permanently break after a couple of uses. But, they can be helpful if your opponent uses a weapon that uses as TON of a specific icon type. Like against Commander Garoo, I used a Shovel Plus and hoped that it would not break before reflecting the Earth from his Brown Clockwork Grundo back at him. That is one of the cheap, but easily broken 50% reflectors. I can list the others if you'd like? Also, if you're having trouble taking too much damage, you might consider filling your empty slots with an item known as a Thick Smoke Bomb. You can buy these from the Secret Ninja Training School, but plenty of users buy and sell them in their user shops. Right now they are between 9,000-10,000 each in the user shops. A Thick Smoke Bomb will block ALL damage once time. It's like having a single-use version of Thyoras Tear. Which blocks all damage once per battle. You can only have 1 Tear equipped at a time I believe, but you can fill all your empty slots with Thick Smoke Bombs. Hmm, for posting a screenshot, you should JUST have to press Print Screen on your keyboard, and then paste it into the body of the message. Anyway, if you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again and ask.

I cannot BELIEVE what I just read...
Aquamentis12 replied to GillyTook's topic in The Void Within (2024)
Honestly, I didn't know about the word until the Neoboards lit up. Though they only implied the word, for fear of repercussions if they typed the word. But yeah, saying "let me get a charcoal rubbing of this" would've been a better way to go. Then again, and not to start a debate here, but when I returned to the neoboards when the plot began, after literally a DECADE away from just the neoboards. I was SHOCKED to find all these sexual identity declarations in signatures and such. Sorry, but that doesn't constitute "family friendly" imho either. So I guess I can't be terribly surprised by their poor choice of words for the comic nor the book. Even a decade ago, to HINT at something sexual on the neoboards would've gotten you silenced or banned. I dunno when things changed, but man, crazy what can happen in 10 short years. -
Cool @lithiumkat! Varia is the Bomb is a constant 25 icon weapon good for once per battle, that'll give you a NICE extra clout to your opening attack! That and Turned Tooth could do a fair bit of damage on your opening salvo! Basically, about 96-118 damage at your current strength boost! Since Turned Tooth has variable offense. Ok, since it takes 3-4 turns for you to finish a battle, you probably should have some defensive gear on-hand. The opponents you list don't have a lot of icons in common, so "Downsize!" is definitely a defensive piece I think you should have. And yes the exclamation point is in it's name. It's always PRETTY cheap and is once per battle. Seems right now you can buy 1 from player shops at 5,000np. A little high but still not bad. I still have a Downsize! equipped in my set. lol Just in case. What other changes did you make to your equipment line-up? Here is a list of some defensive items I compiled awhile ago for taking some bite out of weapons that deal different elements. I JUST updated the prices so these are accurate as of 8pm NST.

Hi @lithiumkat, I'm glad the birds are chirping about this topic! Hopefully you'll find some of the information here useful. So, sounds like you've got a decent rookie battler for a battle pet. First off do you know what the boosts are as far as Strength and Defense go for training? If not, they are the numerical points where your strength and defense actually improve. For example, your strength is at 113. So your weapons will do 2.5 damage per icon that hits your opponent. Your defense is 69, so each icon that your pet blocks will protect you from 2 damage per icon. Between the boost points, or you can call the boost a multiplier, your attack and defense don't change in battle at all. I know, it's an ODD system they came up with. lol Here is a link to TDN's guide on Strength and Defense boosts. https://thedailyneopets.com/battledome/strength-defense-boosts Looking at it I see it needs some minor updating as TNT added 2 new boosts to it fairly recently. Here's what finishes off the strength and defence boost chart. 750 to 799 16 damage 800 to 849 17 damage 850+ 18 damage Once your get Strength and Defense to 850, there's little to no point to training them anymore. My pet's strength is currently over 4000 and he still does the same as as pet with 850 strength. Anyway, so you know what your attack and defense is per icon now, and by looking at that chart, you can also train and work your way towards getting to the next boost/multiplier for Strength and/or Defense. Some people don't worry much about defense, but I like a balanced build. You could go Strength and HP, then use full blockers too, but that can be a bit pricey as well. Especially some of the dual duties, weapons that can attack and defend at the same time. I'm putting your equipment breakdown and my recommendations behind a spoiler tag, to shorten the post's initial display length. Hi @oceanblue5333, A pretty decent set of stats there, not to mention your battle equipment is on par with an Elite set. (Gotta love the Elite Prizes in the Void prize shop. lol) Ok, so with your Strength boost/multiplier, you're doing 7.5 damage per icon that gets to your opponent. And defensively you are blocking 5.5 damage per icon blocked. Which is you surmised with your set, there's not much blocking to go on there. First off, your set is, like I said, pretty Elite.

Intriguing notion Aimee! Your character looks great, but what species would your Bonny Lass be classified as? A Xweebul? Or maybe a Yurtok? Could be fun to come up with a new species name for this mixing of the genes.

Right, I agree with you. The way I see things with the BD is it's TNT's house, and we just gotta play by their rules, no matter HOW weird or unfair they seem, feel, or might be. Congrats on getting the album piece you were after! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend too!

Hi Granny! Difficulty and max HP are different. I think the difficulty is the boost for the opponent. Even though it goes a LOT higher in some cases than the boost tiers our neopets get.

Ah I see. You're after King Skarl's album item. Unfortunately you just have to fight him on hard with the different HP. I don't know why his HP number is different from his difficulty number. But TNT has pretty unfathomable reasons for much of what they do. Having them be the same WOULD be simpler and make more sense. Good luck getting the charm! I hope you get it soon!

Hi Granny! Sounds like you're fighting him on the Mighty-difficulty. The 1600 is just the difficulty, not his actual HP. Here's the breakdown of King Skarl's HP vs Difficulty and his equipment. I tend to fight Scordrax for getting NP. I know he can drop a rare drop, but the other stuff I get from the Cosmic Dome isn't very good, and right now I need Red Codestones, or something I can sell, so I still mainly battle Snowager on Easy for the prizes, and for NP I go after Scordrax. Scordrax has 1600hp on Mighty and the same NP payout as King Skarl on Mighty. So unless you're going after a specific item drop from King Skarl, you could switch to Scordrax for a shorter battle. With the max boosts, I can beat Scordrax in 2 rounds.

Yay for Class Reunion, Nay for Codestone Inflation
Aquamentis12 replied to Aquamentis12's topic in Yays and Nays
Hi Winthaus! I suppose that's possible, but during the last part of the plot the prices got even higher at some point, 80k for a single Zed Codestone, the rarest of the reds. I'd convert some of my tans into reds, but I keep getting requests for multiple Eo Codestones from the Volcano on Mystery Island, and that's one tan codestone I don't have. I almost never see them from battle rewards either so their drop rate must be pretty low. Though I'm aware that like the Zed is the rarest of the Reds, Eo is the rarest of the original tan codestones. So, I hope you're correct and the prices crash once we can battle our plot opponents again for "extra" items like with the first part of the Void plot. -
So, Saturday was my HS reunion. It was a fairly small turnout, only about 21 or so of us were able to make it this time. Not counting spouses and children who were not a part of our graduating class. lol But it was fun! There was a 50% chance of rain, but none fell! After a few hours, those of us still around went to this local Brew Pub to continue visiting and catching up. I just got a soda there, I don't drink. In the end, there were 6 of us when the place closed and they "kicked" us out. lol I'm a little surprised, 10pm on a Saturday night? LOL Lame. lol Anyway, got home, was sore from doing so much standing, but otherwise had a really good day/evening! As for codestone inflation, It's INSANE, the plot hasn't even restarted yet! Even if I get SOME red stones from daily battles, it's still costing me between 100,000-200,000np per training session! Ridiculous! Then I see some user shops with hundreds, if not 1000+ red stones in their shops at EXORBITANT prices! Noticed a SLIGHT drop in Zeds today when I was getting one for my current training session, "only" about 48,000np for one. *eyeroll* Glad I trained as much as I did while they were all much cheaper, but DANG what's with the massive mark-ups over the last month or two?! I wish TNT would increase the drop chances of Red stones in the dome, or limit how many someone can put in their store at one time. HUNDREDS to 1000+?! Absolutely criminal! Buying up so many stones and marking them up so blasted much! Really ticks me off.

It depends, I've seen some sell in auction for 1mil or less. Kind of the luck of the draw. You certainly could hold onto it and see though! Good luck!

It's ok. Skarls Sword is an epic tier weapon, and one of my absolute favorites of all time! Not only does it look awesome, but it's attack is 21-25 icons and it blocks ALL light. So it's just under Jhudora's Wand and SAP, but if you're going to sell it, I would recommend looking at auctions first, since they are all selling there or on the TP. Wouldn't want you to undersell it. Before it got into the weekly quest rotation, you could only buy them from other users for about 2,500,000,000 Neopoints. It was originally from a rare TCG code from the base set of the original Neopets IRL TCG booster packs.

The mountain doesn't reduce the training time, just asks for 10 tan codestones and spits out 1 random red stone. If you have that many red codestones you should be set for training for quite a while. But you might also be surprised at how quickly the training goes since you're on the 1 red stone training tier which only takes 4 hours per session. At least until you get to level 300 when the 2 red codestone tier begins, but it only goes up to 6 hours then. Still pretty quick. But sure, sell your tan codestones if you like. I'm just saying converting them to reds might prolong your training. See, I'm out of reds, have been for awhile, so either I use what I can from battle, or take a bit of time to go through my SDB and send some tan codestones into the volcano. Or, If I'm feeling like I don't want to mess with the volcano, I'll just buy the reds I need from the Shop wiz. And hope for a decent deal since I need 6 red stones per session. I'm in training daily, sometimes more than once a day, it adds up. lol

Sorry for the delayed reply. The broom used to be a HUGE deal, now, maybe not so much. I never had one so I don't really know how sellable it is. But you never know, when the Void plot comes back, it MIGHT be of some use to you, or not. You're welcome First off, CONGRATS! I checked out Col_Mack's stats and they are growing nicely! You can sell the tan codestones, or you can visit the Techo Mountain volcano on Mystery Island and toss in the 10 random Tan Codestones it asks for to get a random Red Codestone in return. Depending on how the Red Codestone market changes once the plot starts up again, it might end up being cheaper to do that for some of your training needs. LOL Yeah, you really don't have to complain at all then. There are only 6 types of Red Codestones and the MAXIMUM training time caps out at 12 hours. Also, if you cancel a training session, you MUST wait a full 24 hours before you can train that pet again. Happy training! ^_^

Hi GillyTook! Been awhile! Sturdy Blue Sword only does 4 icons, it's pretty much worthless these days. Dusty Magic Broom MIGHT be a little useful, depending on the rest of your set. It's an 8-icon weapon that also blocks 5-icons of Light. Used to be ALL the rage back in the day. lol Not as useful NOW, but the dual-duty of it can be good in the right places.

Sure! When you're ready to post, I'd enjoy seeing your work! Sorry for the delay in replying, I haven't scrolled down far enough to see the art gallery forum in awhile. ^^; The dog animation where it's scratching the tree? Unfortunately the gif for that isn't available online anymore. Photobucket "stole" my account. Locked it and wouldn't let me in to remove anything unless I pay to do so. A shame, it was a good free service for many years, but their roll out fo the pay service was trash. Anyway, I can at least still share the gif here directly. Basically, you put the line art frames in between the color frames, or vise versa. This.... when complete, looks like the smaller pic, although that too, was just a test to see how it shreds the bark of the tree. Another example would be this short 4 second test. Slipping between the first 4 frames as line art, and then transitioning them by replacing them systematically with the colored versions of the frames.

Yeah, the plot pause is rather annoying. Unfortunately in the regular BD challengers, fighting them on Mighty is the only way to get higher amounts of NP, and when I battle the Obelisk Challengers on Mighty, I only get 300np per battle from them too. Such a shame TNT didn't increase the NP awards for the 1p challengers. I really hope they do, but I'm also not gonna hold my breath for that. lol Yeah, I'm not a mind reader, gotta post in order to get a reply. But it's nice to see a reply in this thread again. lol Hmm I don't either of them are very good. Whether it's the Shield of Revenge that only blocks 3 icons each of Water and Light. https://items.thedailyneopets.com/items/shield-of-revenge or the Revenge Shield which offers a little more defense, albeit it variable and subject to change. https://items.thedailyneopets.com/items/revenge-shield You're better off selling or storing either, imho. I hope your progress through the plot went well before the plot paused.

Welcome back to Neopets and welcome to TDN! So you stream when you play Neopets on Twitch? That's interesting, is it just the gameplay when you're playing a game, or the site navigation as well? If you ever need advice or counsel on the battledome, feel free to let me know. We have a Battledome section for that here on TDN Forums. Have fun! https://tdnforums.com/forum/72-battledome-battlepedia-chat/

I'm currently watching my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. Thundercats, the 1985 version, on dvd. Got 2 discs left, about 12 eps. Not bad considering there were 130 episodes in all.

Thanks for the heads up! Got an Illusens Silver Shield and another Illusens Staff. >D All my points are gone now. XD

LOL Still working on my manticore project for a friend. I thought I would share the most recent gif pencil-test since it's been awhile. lol About 10 months since I started and 9 since I last posted here. lol Here is the manticore running after his "prey". Just the rough animation with no clean-up so far.

Wow, these are very colorful and imaginative! I like the Hissi too. lol Looks like they're still tired.
