I kinda like the Relic... but not enough to want one. It's certainly striking. And it doesn't seem as... messy as the Kacheek with the different styles of rock. The Kacheek would have been better with just the stomach gem. The looks like a cross between a Haunted Woods idea and a drag queen? On the plus side, the claws and fangs are removable - I imagine there's going to be some fantastic cross paints out there! The eyes are stubborn. I've gone through most of the contacts and they look ridiculous or just don't work. However the Rolling Fog contacts make the red look less... severe and more like it's hiding beneath the stone. So @LekkerLekker89, this might be more what you were after? I do like that outfit. May have to be picking that up for my Royal/Halloween Lupe. May also zap random Lupes to see if I can't get those teeth from the Relic...! I like the addition of bonus items as well! Very cute!

I would be really interested to know what the average Neopets user's age is. I'm guessing it's mostly adults. (But then again, maybe that's just who I associate with.) Regardless, this decision makes approximately zero sense; the rules that were already in place about what you could and couldn't discuss on the boards seemed sufficient to me to keep things from getting "too" "real-life". I was so excited that TNT has started to be more openly inclusive and mindful of LGBTQ+ people and disabled people. But this feels like a HUGE step backward. And how is it more "child friendly" to punish people for talking about absolutely anything non-NP-related? I feel like a rule like that is harder for kids to follow than adults.

I suspect baby and mutant pets won't be able to use them as they are handheld rather than foreground items.

The dog toys are freaking adorable. I almost want to give my jedi lupe one of them just because it'd give a feel of a puppy playing dress up. Hmmm. On that hand, does anyone know if the baby pets would be able to play with toys, or if they still hold to the baby pets can only wear baby-themed stuff on their bodies rule? Because that would be freaking adorable. Teeny tiny baby lupe with a huge stick? Yes please! The relic looks way better without the fangs and huge toenails.

Bought TAG today! Only one I saw at 15, which is nice sometimes, that way I don't have so many decisions LOL

I like the Lupe Relic! It's better executed than the kacheek, at least with the gemstone colors (i really wish they made the kacheeks gems nicer, i would've wanted one if not for the odd "harsh" coloring). Also the dog toys are so fun, i'm surprised there haven't been any items like that until now, but they're great!

So having done some extra sleuthing on Facebook and Reddit, it looks like both are true. The team did indeed make it so you couldn't discuss anything non neo related and there were a couple of days where staff were warning and silencing players. However the backlash has been (predictably) severe and they have walked the policy back pretty quickly and the description has also been changed. There was also a certain amount of passive aggressive 'word but not spirit of the rule' keeping with people very obviously finding neo words to describe real life things. The problem is that there are so many better ways and no other site uses the idea that you need the 'original' email because it just doesn't work. People change emails, servers get deleted. Over time, the average adult may keep their email but children certainly don't and many people created accounts in childhood! Even with adults though, there are some things I've used a work email to set up and no longer have access to the work address because I no longer work there! The previous policy was that you had to know what the original email was - still iffy given people may have been like 7 when they opened accounts, but more doable. Now you actually need to send an email from the account... which has a reasonable chance of being defunct.

Lupes have a special place in my heart, they were my fav pet when I was a kid. I haven't seen any positive comments about the Relic Lupe but I actually really like it... It doesn't quite fit the rest of the 'Relic' designs, though, so I get people could be disappointed if they'd been waiting for it. I wonder why they decided in 2023 that Relic pets would have crystals? Did I miss something in the lore perhaps?

Yeah, I can understand that haha, it is a bit much. On one hand, I do feel like the rubies compliment the dark colors of the Relic design, but at most they could just do a few gemstones laid into the body, like they've been chipped away and hiding underneath the stone. Ignoring the big eyesores, this one isn't so bad. I like the little fern near it hehe. The Luperus outfit is quite cool! It's just a red velvet Cerberus doggy! And, similar to the Kougra Day idea, there's a new set of other wearables, also in 4s! Each are cute in their own way, the Chia one is a bit creepy when you think about it, but I like that they try to keep it cute anyway lol. A... creative day, to say the least, Lupes!

Ehhh. What in the whole world are they doing to Relics?! I feel like the last few have been just awful, IMO. This gives mad haunted woods vibes, until you get to the tail?! I rarely complain on here, but I've been waiting on a Relic Lupe for years - and this is NOT what I was looking forward to AT ALL lol

@Secre I don't blame you. Ixis have always been my faves. I've only got two of them, but they're SO freaking cute. But I also love my big kitties. Hahaha, I'm glad we can have more than 4 pets total ever now. Looking back I can't believe any of us were ever satisfied with that.

Well, that's going to make the Altador Cup even more tedious than normal, isn't it?? The team chats are full of off-topic nonsense inbetween scoring and suchlike. I remember having a full discussion about what we did whilst also playing endless SOSD last year that divolved into a full book recommendation list... Are they trying - I mean, really, actively trying - to destroy the site? I don't spend much time on the boards admittedly, but many of those who do are the most committed long standing players. Why are they trying to chase them away!? And child friendly until we look at the NC Malls Gatcha mechanics with capsules. Spend a fortune to not necessarily get the items you want and gamble on a low chance of getting the special edition item. Exactly how is that child friendly??

I wanted to make a few people aware of this in case people didn't know, but I believe that it is important enough information for people, especially those that use the boards. Neopets has changed a bunch of their chat rules, or rather are starting to enforce things more harshly as to what you can and cannot talk about. According to this post here; many users have been reporting getting warnings & bans/freezes for discussing non-neopets related things after TNT had allowed such chats in the Newbie Board on the Neoboards. The Newbie Board/Chat use to be a pretty big space for general chatting between users and has been that way for a couple of decades now. If you scroll down a little bit further in the above mentioned post you can see more detailed information. To paraphrase; Neopets is owned by a company called Netdragon who has a CEO who is an AI and it recently deleted the accounts of Adam and Donna who were the LITERAL creators of Neopets, shortly after that the Newbie Board got re-vamped/changed to "New to Neopets" and a "General Discussion" board was put up that users have been asking for a while for. Excited to see this board up many user went over to it and began posting away. About a day later TNT makes up a new rule with no official warning that we cannot talk about anything none related to neopets on the boards, including non-neopian related clothing and food! If you even so much as mention a hat it must be a neopets hat. This is an ACTUAL example given by a staff member Alice, which I will post a screenie of below. They then began freezing & issuing warnings to people that posted non-neopet related things on the board called general discussions. After days of people contacting TNT wondering why the warnings, bans, etc were happening they FINALLY made an announcement saying; no non-neopets talk is allowed on ANY of their boards & that they started freezing & warning people on the newbie chat for posts that were made days before the rules changed & this is all because neopets wants to be 100% child friendly. (Yet they're selling wine glasses in the merch shop, have had irl events at bars and many not-so-child friendly items, references and events LOL) I don't really know what this means for guilds or personal DM's as the message from Alice does specifically say "OUR BOARDS", so guild may still be safe for general discussion as although they are on neopets, they're not official boards, but I am not sure if this is actually the case. Same goes for DM's, I would hope/assume they are, but I have no real idea or any way to really know. I just know that this will cause a lot of people to move to chatting offsite for sure. (If they weren't ALREADY doing that.)

I've seen better run websites than Neo kick the dust, so my hopes aren't particularly high for a long term future anymore. If anything, I'm frankly amazed they've lasted this long. They have no understanding of their customer base (mostly adults now, not children), so are gearing things to the wrong audience - except NC which is definitely geared towards adults with money to burn with gatcha mechanics and gambling, so somewhat hypocritical to boot. They have very poor customer support and processes (new process meaning you have to have access to your original email to gain access to lost accounts is ridiculous - very few people are able to access twenty odd year old emails and half the server addresses no longer exist.) They know it's stupid and they don't care. Most of the site doesn't work and there is very little to do unless there's an active event going on. I'm in and out in twenty odd minutes unless it's half price day and I'm trying to stock my shop. Events are thin on the ground, cancelled (Charity Corner), broken (Altador Cup) or so simple they can barely be called events (Faeries Ruin). We're all waiting on plots that have been promised for over a year. But the Premium Sale was promised for the end of last year and that never materialised, so again, low hopes here. As I said, I've seen far, far better sites run into the ground due to mismanagement and stupidity and that does seem to be the way neopets is going now...
