  1. When I was younger, a LOT younger we use to go camping a lot. No less than every other weekend. Mostly to meet up with friends and party. At that time we were pretty poor and couldn't afford the luxury of buying a tent. So, I came up with the idea of "renting" a tent. I would go to the store, buy the tent, we'd use it for the weekend and then I would return it on Monday. I of course went to different stores, different times of the day, different days of the week so that I didn't get made as a "tent renter". That was back in the early to mid 80's. I always got a nice tent and wanted to keep every one of them. During that time I became convinced that as soon as we could afford it I was going to buy one to keep. During the early 90's things were going well enough to make it happen and I went and bought a large tent. I can't remember if it was a 5 or 6 person but it was large and had dividers in the middle, places to hang lanterns. Lots of windows. Nice tents. So, since that time we have owned many tents. During the camping era new couples would join, older ones would stop coming. Every time I bought a new tent I was sure to give the old one (usually got a new one every season) to a young couple that was new to camping and they would stay in someone else's tent. . As I got older I felt guilty about the tents I had rented all those years ago but I hoped in some small way that by buying a new one every year and passing the not so old one on to a young couple that I was somehow paying off a wrong from all those years ago. We don't camp so much anymore. Our backs can't handle it even with the air mattresses so now we actually rent a camper to drive to the campsite. Really rent, legit. I'm happy to hear of your tent purchase. I hope it serves you well for many years. Happy camping!

  2. Hah, I was thinking of a way of working it out that didn't involve me getting my calculator out! The onus of foolishness would have been on me! I was determined to do it in as few clicks as possible, hence why it wasn't quite exactly 721k; close enough though! Yeah, I sold at 71. I only have 5 left to remind myself to rebuy when it drops to 15 again! You definitely profit more in total from your bank interest, but essentially selling at 60 and above is far higher than 12.5% interest. You could end up keeping your stocks for years and it would still exceed the interest overall. You can't really use the bottom line on the stocks as the majority of stocks will be at 5-20 for most of the time. It's more a case of jumping on the ones that are overall higher and selling to make a profit, sticking the proceeds in the bank and then re-investing. My bottom line will occasionally jump to 20-30% if one or two stocks are doing particularly well, but it will then sink again when I sell those high fliers. If you really wanted to check where you make the most, you'd need a table of when you bought vs when you've been able to sell and how much for. Then you can check that against the typical bank interest for the period against all the stocks you've bought, I suspect... maybe?

    Forum Profile Help?

Hi! Nielo is right; they definitely relate to group permissions/settings, which I presume Ian set up. I'll reach out to see what he prefers and get back to everyone. I don't want to enable them being site wide if it would be hard for us to monitor or if there was a specific reason(s) he chose these permissions/settings. Sorry for any confusion.

  4. Recently I bought Poeme Perfume by Lancome and the lovely and floral scent would be ideal for the merging and stylish women around. Its top notes include Blue poppy, datura candida, rose, freesia, narcissus, jonquil, mimosa, vanilla blossoms to provide the ultimate love and joy.

    P3s

I don't know if I'm an outcast in this, but... I love P3s. They're adorable. I love matching P3s to my Neopets & Petpets. Ideally, all of my neopets should have P3s. I've noticed there haven't been very many available on the Trading Post lately, compared to the past few years. So, I'm trying pretty hard to obtain them on my own. I was wondering... I believe the only way to get them from the site itself (rather than buying from other players), is through Random Events and The Coincidence???? Is there any other way to obtain P3s through the site that I'm missing? Any other dailies, games, challenges, events, shops..?

    P3s

Oh wow, thank you for all the info!!! (& I love your un, I've been vegan for 11 years now ) I had no clue that the Random Events don't even award them anymore, that really sucks! Here I was hoping for a good P3 RE Strale is also one of my main goals right now... so... that's a really big bummer you just gave me so much helpful new info, thank you so much!!!!! time to start trying to convince people to do The Coincidence more frequently... get more P3s in circulation!

    P3s

Hi natvv! I love p3s, too! They're actually one of my favorite aspects of Neopets My understanding is that The Coincidence is the only way to get them. There used to be a random event which gave you one: "Ohhh how cute. It seems [petpet name] has got a [petpetpet name] in its mouth. Have you been feeding it lately?" (Source) But for some reason (I have no idea why), they changed it at some point so that it no longer gives one: "Ohhh, how cute. It seems one of your Petpets has got a Petpetpet in it's mouth. Wait a minute, that's just a leg!" (Source) Although there are some p3s that don't seem to be given from the Coincidence (like Glymes and Strales), so I have no idea how people acquire those. I've posted on the suggestions NeoBoard several times that TNT should add more p3s (maybe a User contest to design them so TNT doesn't have to) and increase the opportunities to acquire them. Hopefully one day it'll happen

    What Did You Just Buy?

It's horrible to keep up, sometimes I'm not sure if a post is made by a valid new member or an ad account. Most of the time I'll remove the url from a first post and if a second post is made with another link to some whoknowswhat site I'll just mark them as spammer. If I miss one, please let me know or sent a report so I can take a look at it when I'm online! I just bought and received a new tent today! It's a five person tent in which I'll be able to stand up. All that space just for me LOL! I figured the weight doesn't matter since I'll always go to the camp site by car so figured I could go luxurious and buy a nice one. If one of my friends ever wants to go camping with me, at least they don't need to bring a tent of their own.

  11. The mention of polyester reminded me of a prank my mom told us she did in high school (not until we all graduated so that we wouldn't attempt it?) on a substitute teacher who wore a lime green polyester suit to her Calculus class. While he stood outside the classroom chatting with students and any female teacher who walked by, she grabbed the chalkboard eraser and made the green plastic-faking-leather rolling chair completely WHITE with chalk, and sat down in her seat in the back corner of the classroom. Once everyone came in, the substitute wrote his name in big letters on the board, turned around to tell the class his expectations and said he knew that he would be treated to the same respect that they show to all their teachers, and then sat down on the rolling chair and proceeded to call out students names for attendance. Mom kept her cool & only a few students saw her chalk the seat but were her friends-so they stayed quiet until he finished the roll call and then stood up and went to the board to write the page numbers for their problems to do facing the board with his completely chalked butt showing to the whole class. Of course, everyone was laughing loud, so he was getting annoyed and was twisting his head saying, :"What are you all laughing about? What is SO funny?" bc he couldn't see his butt. When the class was just saying, "Your butt, man!", he finally pulled his suitcoat around and then looked at the chair that he sat in, then he got really mad and yelled, "WHO DID THIS?" and someone, not a friend of my mom, pointed at her in the back and said, "She did it!" At that point, seeing how mad this guy was and was seriously scared that this guy might hurt her (she had been knocked unconscious from a 5th grade teacher, so teachers in her day were still 'disciplining' kids) she jumped out the window (first floor-didn't get hurt) and took off to hide out behind the gym until the end of the school day. She got detention and she did her time, and while she didn't mean any real harm to the guy-she feels that her turn-around to be a better substitute that tries to make the school day better for the students she subbed for can help pay off the debt of her not so funny prank (she says it ended up not being funny, but thinking that she actually did something like that-that is funny to me).

  12. I mean, the interest on 721k is as follows: And you've made a hell of a lot more than 90k on those beauties!! (I need to put my millions back in the bank pronto before I get hit by some stupid tax event!) Phew, it's back! Either way, if you actually sell at 60-70 (and don't hoard them, eh!) then the profit on stocks will vastly outweigh the 12.5% top interest rate. Particularly as you can sell, put the proceeds in the bank and collect interest on that! But you do... ummm... have to sell them for that to work, I'm afraid.

  13. My issue is always that I forget about them x'D I could blame resisting selling until stuff starts to drop again - which I definitely am guilty of - but just plain blanking on stuff's the real culprit. It raises that question of which is the best financial option: buying stocks vs. paying every NP into the bank for the interest. I personally don't care enough to try to find out, lol. Either way you get MOAR, I'm not gonna quibble over the percentages. Maybe it's better to say that it's not solely about the money, I enjoy the stocks experience. Speaking of my holding out and then missing out habit... could be in for another dose of that right now? BB (profile) 66 75 +9 56,000 721,000 4,200,000 +482.52%

  14. Glad I kept back half! Sold the rest at 70! Thanks for the heads up! As @nirv120 says, it's completely up to you where you sell at. Some people sell at 30, others 60, some hold for longer. Personally, I tend to stick with 60 although I might gamble like I did yesterday; selling half and then seeing if it rose further. Having watched the ups and downs, it's a gamble as often a stock won't get higher than 60 and will then plummet. Other times I've missed out on shares rising higher like when FAER recently rose to 125! In terms of which stock to buy, I'll always try and bolster the ones I have less of. So if there's more than one at 15, I check my current stocks and see which one has less bought.

  15. I've been wearing mostly pjs for the last year and a half. However, I'm going back to school in person in september and I realized I don't really have anything to wear. So I ordered new clothes for the first time in forever! I'm so excited to receive them in the mail friday,

  16. It's honestly whatever you want it to be. When I was starting from scratch from getting hacked, I would buy at 15 and sell at 30 because I needed to make nps fast, but as I accumulated a portfolio, I increased to 45 and then 60. Most people wait until it reaches 60 because that's a nice profit, but as long as you buy stocks at 15 and sell them at a profit, you are good.
