Starting to cook more for myself!
Yaroslav Fadeev and one other reacted to SnowGura for a topic
I recently moved into a one bedroom apartment by myself (love it so far!) and so now I'm learning how to cook for one! One of the biggest wins recently was pesto alfredo tortellini. So easy to make, lasts a few days, and so yummy! One of my biggest busts was honey chicken... it's delicious the first day, but heated up it's awful. And since fall is here now, I think I'm going to try making some pumpkin pie Made some apple pie a couple days ago - here is the result if you wanna see a picture! (Lol it is not very pretty, but the crust is made from scratch and it was so yummy!) If anyone knows any recipes with good leftovers feel free to share2 points -

Is that Hannah?
Nielo reacted to jellysundae for a topic
Every time I visit Underwater Fishing a little voice in my head pops up and asks this. xD I suppose it's purely because the Usul has brown hair and is wearing green, even though the outfit's entirely different to what Hannah wears, but I still persist in thinking this, lol. I like the old Krawk, he looks like a character! Though he might bore you to tears with his endless fishing stories that you've heard 100 times before? Maybe that's why "Hannah" is sat on the end with her back to him. I try not to think about the Cybunny's hind legs... D:< I dunno why they weren't drawn in a more normal bunny sitting up pose rather than making them look like an experimental cross-breed with a Nimmo! I mean what's all that about! Apologies for any cannot unsee I've triggered now. Yep, that is all xD1 point -
I was curious about that box of 500 free points in Charity Corner's NP Prize Shop, and I clicked on it. Best. Move. Ever! The box adds 500 points to your current Prize Points total. This is a big help if you are just this side of your goal. Even if you're not shy of your goal, it's still a good thing to get. One more thing....You can only get it once.1 point

oh my GOSH those all sound amazing! Thank you so much for sharing! I'm glad to have another vegetarian recipe blog in my arsenal as well This was my old go-to before I moved; it's great topped with sour cream and shredded marble. If you've got a big stock pot it makes a ton and it's easy to double for left-overs and meal prep. It's better with beer than vegetable stock, but it's so tricky to get alcohol here that I haven't made it in a grip. Hopefully one of you can use it!1 point -

i dig it, no sense in wasting all those smaller patches of leather when you can combine them. that is a good point though, usually the seams would be very tiny to make it more waterproof. it's probably just to make it more visible. still, i really like stuff like that, same as having armour and weapons show signs of repair. and that tail guard is just sooooo edgy, i love it. shoes are definitely a little weird, though. like they were going for sabatons but forgot that there should be a whole foot *and* a boot inside1 point -

Oh my gosh, that pie looks amazing! Pastry is so tricky and I'm glad it turned out! One of my go-to's is red curry, with whatever veg I can get on discount. This recipe is my favourite base for curry: https://damndelicious.net/2018/02/25/easy-thai-red-curry/, and since I don't eat meat I put mushrooms & frozen peas instead of chicken. It microwaves really well, too! And could you share the recipe? It sounds delicious!1 point -

Learning a New Language
jellysundae reacted to Nielo for a topic
I've been using Duoling to learn some Italian during lockdown (I started out with Russian, as I took a few Russian lessons during high school, but realised that I was mostly guessing my Duolingo answers, so I switched to a language that's a little more familiar to me). Reading the Harry Potter books in German is a great goal! I'm not just saying that - I used the Harry Potter books to learn/improve my English when I was a kid. I'd learned some English in school (I think I was around 10 when they started teaching us English), and we only dub movies/shows for children, everything else is subtitled, so I did pick up some English from just watching TV. But I was a huge Harry Potter fan, and had already read the first 2 or 3 books a couple of times, when I decided I wanted to read the English versions as well. (Part of this was motivated by me wanting the learn the "real names" of the characters, as most of the names had been translated as well - which makes sense, considering the names actually have meanings, but I still felt like their English names were their "real" names. XD) I started out with reading one page in English, and then reading that same page in Dutch, to see if I understood everything. I also kept a dictionary on hand for the words I couldn't figure out through context clues. I moved on to reading two pages at a time, then chapters, and by the time the 4th book came out, I didn't really need the Dutch version to understand the English one, but I still remember bringing both books with me on holiday, just in case. So yeah, I highly recommend reading them in German, even if you feel you haven't quite mastered the German language yet. Reading books you're already familiar with is a great way to improve your language skills!1 point
