  1. I saw someone asking this on the neoboards and I thought it was an interesting question :P.

    So, what would you want? I'd personally like to get my hands on a Gummy Striped Ixi 31666.gif?434It's one of the cutest items on Neopets in my opinion, and I'd love to add it to my gallery!

    Darigan Sword of Death would be sweet too 19470.gif?329It'd be cool to find out how much damage it deals once and for all.

     

     

  2. This year I tried to find them on my own. Took me about 20 minutes :P

    I never open goodie bags though, it just feels... wrong to me. I just put them on my SDB and let them sit there forever. If the items they give out are good, I consider buying them from someone else.

    Looking at this year's prize pool , I'm mostly interested in one of the items the TDMBGPOP goodie bag can give you:

    Being a pessimist I really doubt the acquisition will change anything on Neopets, but eh, at least they are explaining why they are dragging this thing out.

    Oooh, thank you so much for the link! :D Apparently the person who posted that list found those artists by checking the art credits from TCG rule book. Clever!

    Oh, I know, but I was referring to official Neopets artists, as in artists who were at some point part of The Neopets Team :P

  5. One of the main reasons I played and loved Neopets for so long was the art. In my opinion, the site is filled with tons of gorgeous and memorable artwork. I remember I always looked forward to pet days to see what new marquees they'd add to the frontpage because most of them looked so cool. I remember that when JN released their image emporium, I would look up random words just to see what would come up and if I could find artwork I hadn't seen before.

    I also remember that I hated how there was no way to know who were the people behind the beautiful art on the site. I was so curious about that kind of stuff! I wanted to know who were these artists I admired so much, but there was nothing I could do to find out. I only recognised them by their artstyle, not by their names.

    So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon one of these artists on Tumblr! Claire Hummel used to work for Neopets and was one of the main artists there. Apparently she got the job when she was 15? That's crazy! :P  Sometimes she posts her old art from working on the site on her blog. You should check out her Neopets tag to see some of the things she drew. I discovered she drew some of my favourite art pieces on Neo!

    There's one specific post on her blog  that caught my attention, one where she redraws a couple of images from her early days at Neo:

  6. Huh, I've been on Neo for years and I think I've never heard about this. Interesting! :blink:

    So, I did some research (instead of finishing my college assignment) and apparently there's not much you can do. No tricks or tips whatsoever. It is possible to catch them, but it's extremely rare. Found some helpful editorial answers that confirm this:

    It's quite possible -- just very, very difficult. Scamanders are squirmy little things, and catching one is no small feat!

    Nope, it is quite possible to get a Scamander from the Money Tree. It's just extremely rare that someone gets a good enough grip on one to stop it from escaping!

     

    So yeah, you just have to get really lucky.

    I believe that can be fixed. From TDN's guide:

    If you change active pets and click back in to NeoQuest you will then be prompted to start a new game for whichever pet you now have active. This is particularly important because NeoQuest games usually take more than a few days, especially the first time you play. To get back your original game's progress simply activate the pet you began the first game with.

    Her statue is still there though, right below the Whirlpool sign. It's also important to remember that the statue doesn't really mean anything anymore. It's just a nod to her whereabouts before the events of the PS2 game took place (right at the beginning of the game, she escapes from her stone prison, as you can see here :P).

    It would be great to see her again though. She has always been my favourite Neopets' villain.

     Actually, all of it is reused art :P Most of the faeries we saw at this year's festival and the ones in the image of the first post come from the Faerie Festival of 2010 (which had already used old art, but at least they updated it and there was new artwork too). Some others come directly from the Faerie Quest page.

     

  10. According to JN's guide, Wing It works like Kiko Pop, meaning that no matter where you click, whether you win or not is gonna be random. So yeah, don't even bother trying to follow the pattern :P

    To be honest I expected this event to turn out like this. Jumpstart has no resources and they either have no idea what they're doing or they simply don't care at this point. They are just trying to get a few bucks from the small handful of people who still play Neopets.

    I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss Viacom.

    I'll eat my shoes if it ever happens :P It would take so much work to change lookups to be able to display another pet slot.

    Also, I too find Scrappy a little annoying. She's one of the reasons I stopped reading the editorial.

  12. The Marble Ixi looks amazing! I don't know if I'd paint any of my Ixi though; I'm not creative enough to come up with a customization that'd look good with that colour.

    As for pastel... I don't like pastel colours in general, so I've got nothing say :P

    I was hoping my Ixi gallery would win the spotlight this year, but that was just wishful thinking on my part. I'm still missing quite a few items and my gallery layout is a premade one. I should also work on the description, but I'm too lazy :P

  13. I was surprised to see that no one on the forums has mentioned this yet!

    So... two weeks ago, a staff member called Scrappy held a Q&A session on the neoboards. In that Q&A session, she confirmed that TNT are working on a new plot!:

    Personally, I'm gonna keep my expectations pretty low. I just can't trust Jumpstart anymore. Besides, with how limited their resources are, I doubt they'll be able to pull off a decent plot, but maybe that's just me being overly negative :P

Sometimes that happens to me, when my Internet access is being slow. The page(s) take way longer to load, or don't load at all. When they do load, I don't always see the graphics and I see a lot of "text" hyperlinks and the page doesn't look formatted as it should. There are things you can do with Firefox, but if it happens to both browsers, then there are other things I'd check.

    Thanks for commenting, but it looks like it has fixed itself :). I think restarting my computer did the trick?
