Here's a checklist to help the new Jumpstaff since they seem to be struggling with adding some finishing touches on news posts and events that happen on the site. To their credit, they are starting to become more comfortable and they have gotten better but there are still a few things that could be spruced up:
 
News
News is very important as it adds new content on the website on an (almost) regular basis. It is also very important to have the news page look as fancy and eye catching as possible. The news typically has scheduled releases for each day of the week... so here we go.
 
Monday: Monday usually holds a random new item, poem winner, a new Storytelling winner, pet spotlight winner and Customization contest winners. These three to four things are VERY easy to add into the news. As each contest (should) start anew on Monday, it is also very easy to advertise the winners/start of the new contests and have a complete news release for Monday.

If you are understaffed and cannot pick new winners for spotlights/storytelling/poems, at least announce the new Customization contest and their winners.

Tuesday: Tuesday usually announces either two new petpets, two new plushies or two new morphing potions. As you guess it, you also release the spotlight winners for Userlookup of the Week and possibly the Art gallery. Again, another easy day to have a full news release with minimal effort.

Wednesday: Shocker - two new items are usually released on Wednesdays (plushies, petpets, mps, stamps) and of course it's time to announce a brand new Better Than You competition as well as Site Spotlight, Caption Contest and PPL winner. Again. Easy.

Thursday: I believe Thursdays usually have a new mystery pic and new petpet spotlight. Possibly announce two new items if a pet day hasn't bumped them to another day of the week.

Friday: Again, usually two random items, announce the new beauty contest.

PET DAYS: I cannot begin to stress to you how important these are. Users literally wait 364 days for their favourite species day. DO. NOT. MESS. AROUND. WITH. THIS. The new colours MUST be ready. Don't tease a paint brush. Don't say they are coming and then announce it 5 days later. HAVE THEM READY ON THEIR PET DAY. Don't even begin to think otherwise. Have the preview images be 150 x 150. Not any bigger, not any smaller. Have them activated in the Rainbow Pool as soon as the news releases - not days, weeks or months later. Immediately. Remember, people wait an entire year for this specific day. Make it count because a lot of people are counting on you.

DO NOT PRIORITIZE ANNOUNCING THINGS ON FACEBOOK OVER ANNOUNCING THEM ON NEOPETS.COM. EVER. STOP DOING THAT.
 
EVENTS
When it comes to events, it will be very beneficial to put up a FAQ section somewhere. We understand the help/ticket system might not work at all times, but for the love of Neocola, put up a dang FAQ some place on the website, even your specific Neoboard. It will greatly cut down the amount of tickets you receive and event spam on your Facebook page.
 
Include things like:
how long the event will last (start and end dates) if there are bonus prizes for daily participation what we are required to do when prizes will be available and for how long after the event ends we are able to claim them Don't forget to change the marquees on the front page on the website. These are the first things that people will see when they visit and will want to check out. Make sure it is as up to date as possible because who wants to click on something thinking that it's new, only to find out it's 4 weeks old and no longer exists.

The above still applies. Include retire dates and if there will be bonus prizes.

Okay, well, technically it's not really Amsterdam, but a small town called Diemen, which is basically attached to Amsterdam, so anyway.
I'm going to uni next year, and will be studying in Amsterdam, which is one of the hardest cities in Holland to get a room as a student. (You don't have dorms here, you have to find your own rooms to live in) But seeing as I still have to make my exams, and it's not completely set in stone that I'll be graduating (although I'm 90% sure I will be), I hadn't really looked at rooms in Adam yet. But the daughter of one of my mom's old uni friends is going to Berlin for eight months, and was looking for someone to house sit her home in Diemen, and I got it :D
I'm really happy now, because this allows me to not have to travel an hour back and forth every day to Adam for college, which is great, but instest a 15 min bike ride, which is basically what I'm riding to school daily right now anyway. And there's a pop-up Italian pizza place which has incredible pizza's for just a few euros just a two min walk from the house, so, YAY.

Just felt like sharing this story.
 
Over Spring break, I stayed with my aunt, uncle, and 8-year-old cousin. I was in my older cousin's room for the week (she wasn't there) and I found 2 of her old Neopets Magazines. So of course I pulled them out and read through them. My younger cousin came in and asked what I was reading. Next thing I know, I'm showing her the site and explaining it all to her.
 
So a week later, I get a letter in the mail from her. Inside was one of the magazine posters and her drawing interpretation from the How To Draw section. Let me tell you, I haven't felt this happy in a long time. It makes me realize how influential I can be and it gives me hope for the next generation of Neo users.
 
 
 

I felt the need to share this with people I don't really know. For the past 7.5 years, I've been trying to figure out what my gender is. This started way before I even knew there was anything called transgender, or genderfluid, or anything other than cisgender. I distinctly remember fighting with my mother, since people bullied me at school by calling me a boy, and I yelled at her, "What if I am a boy?" She said, "You're not. I changed your diapers."
 
Over the past two years, I've been slowly researching gender identity more and more, and only today did I really figure out what bigender was and ohhhhhhhhhh my goooooooodness. The relief. The validation. The fact that what I feel is something other people feel. I'm so relieved. (she/him, if you're wondering; no preference! either of them work!)
 
And! Additional yay! I get to go home to my dad's house tomorrow. I'm currently away for university, and I'm seeing him, my little brother, and my pet bunny for the Easter weekend. Gah! Today has been a good day! I'll be back in my university town on April 6, but still, having 5 days away from my horrible room mates and finding a gender identity that I can--wait for it--identify with have made me very happy today.

Pastitsio. I had to Google this to find out what it was, and now I want! It's basically lasagne made with regular pasta shapes.
Melitinias. Sweet pastries made with spiced soft cheese.

Thanks guys! I sure will share my luck. I've continued to be lucky over the weekend. We've had horrible winter weather and several huge tree limbs have fallen in my yard. I'm talking at least eight or more. One barely missed the electricity meter, and another was caught by the back porch, which prevented it from destroying my bedroom window. None of the limbs hit the house and none of the pipes have burst and me and the pets are okay despite it being single digit temperatures outside, with only two small electric heaters in the house. We've camped out in my room and things have been cold but fine.
 
Jerkface (my brother) surprised me on Valentine's Day with a nice dinner out, which I enjoyed. So that counts as being lucky too, I suppose.
 
The photoshoot I won was taken today instead of tomorrow because of the coming winter weather, and that was fun. My brother actually showed up, and we got a picture together.
 
I've also got to spend a lot more time with my neighbors/good friends/family. My luck hasn't ran out yet! :)

So next Friday, I have to go to this hotel to a fancy photoshoot. My whole family can come with me. My grand prize is a giant 16 x 20 keepsake photograph worth 100 dollars US. I get one for free. :D

And because one of my goals this year was to donate blood as many times as I can, I went into the local blood bank to donate. (I can potentially save 3 lives with each donation! You can too, just check out your local blood bank for more information.)
