  1. Ah so THAT'S how! It's been so long since I saw an MME I forgot! Thanks to this post I know there is a new MME and how to get ALL the items for it. Thanks! Also got the new monthly collectable and a Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie because I only have a couple days left on mine. But I only JUST got them. I was out of town on Black Friday and didn't know there was gonna be a sale in the NC Mall. Whoops! ^^;
  2. Congrats! So I went to your profile to check out what an Ice Hissi looks like, and when I clicked on him I got this message..... lol Thanks! I didn't even know that was an avatar! XD Congrats again on getting your ice hissi! Good luck with your next pet-endeavor!
  3. lol Whoops! No worries! And here I thought someone had something to say about some of my shares here.
  4. Been playing Dragon Quest XI lately. BIG fan of the franchise, ever since the first game for the NES. It's pretty amazing to see how far it's come since then and how they keep coming up with new nuances and features to keep each new game FRESH, interesting and FUN.
  5. An IRL Advent Calendar? Sorry, I haven't. But it would be interesting what Neopets would do with something like that. Maybe a keychain toy to fit behind each door? lol Anyway, if they put out merch of an IRL Advent Calendar, that would be interesting. They could certainly print item codes behind some or all of the doors. THAT would be pretty cool.
  6. Going with The Sway, the predictions are fairly close and I prefer The Sway's boons. So I'll take that gamble and see if they win.
  7. An old anime I have on dvd. Final Fantasy Unlimited. Just a few episodes left.
  8. Same! Thanks hrtbrk! I just got home from being out of town for 5 days. (Mom had some back surgery and is doing wonderfully after it.) I'm so glad I checked the forums just now! Would've HATED to miss out on the bags and their treats!
  9. Likewise, I play on my PC only, and my phone is too old/dumb for such apps. Smart phones may have their usefulness at times, but I'm fine with talk and txt, though I much prefer talk to txting. Will probably have to replace mine soon, but I can't see shelling out enough to buy a new laptop or something, for a phone. PLUS paying for data for a smart phone? Not worth it (to me) imho.
  10. What are "d2r" games? I'm not familiar with that term. Your analysis of games and their effect(s) on cognition are interesting, and I would say in general, that I agree that playing games can help kids in various ways mentally and emotionally in both stimulating and calming the brain. As well as inspiring and entertaining it, of course. Lastly, I would indeed agree that the evidence is encouraging. As for me, I game too, I like to sketch and dabble in animation as a hobby. Though I'd love to improve on the quality of both. I read occasionally, not as much as I used to, but I read a LOT of text on the net day-to-day so I suppose that's why I haven't read as many books as I used to read. I enjoy listening to music, sometimes chatting with friends. And i dabble a bit in writing and "world-building", in that sense. Would love to design a game, but I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag. lol As for what games I play? Offline, I definitely prefer RPGs, or games with story that require strategy and critical thinking. Online, I play Neopets, dabble with Flight Rising and play a free-to-play MMO called AdventureQuest3D. A cross-platform MMO that you can play on android, iOS, and computers, via Steam. There is a pay aspect to AQ3D, for a 1-time fee of $25 you can unlock guardianship. You get access to the Guardian Tower, the Job Class, and some game-wide perks. Dragon Guardian is $50, basically you get a tiny amount of extra perks, and a good amount of the game's premium currency, Dragon Crystals. Either package is only a one-time thing, and it's good forever then. There is no player-trading system, so any items you want, you have to earn or craft yourself. But you can party up and grind for the items required to craft said items. You can be a top player without ever paying a penny too. A HUGE draw in the game are the cosmetic-equipment and items. They are always parodying pop-culture stuff. You could change your character to look like Luffy, from One Piece, Saitama, from One-Punch Man, etc. etc. Most equipment is for everyone, some of it may require you to be a guardian to equip it, but not usually to obtain it. Many of the permanent travel forms you can get are guardian-only, though the free consumable and the free permanent travel forms travel at the same speeds. So there's no real advantage unless you want a specific look of a specific travel form. There are multiple job/classes to master, they JUST released a new one, Samurai, the other day! It's, pretty powerful, but I haven't finished unlocking all the skills yet. Each Class has skills up to the 10th rank/level. Get to rank 10 to maximize that job's abilities and get a nice cross-over skill to use with another job equipped. (1 Cross-skill can be equipped at a time). Each class has 4 attacks besides the default auto-attack. 3 skills and an ultimate that takes time to build up before you can use it. I've played games from this company for a long time. Not QUITE as long as Neopets, but I remember some people on the neoboards talking about the original AdventureQuest, back in the day. Which launched in 2002. I started playing I think, around 2003. THAT game is still going, not missing at least 1 weekly update since it's launch. It was originally Flash, now it's accessed via the Artix Etnertainment Launcher. A program you can download to access any of their games. Unlike Neopets, the people over at AE saw the death of Flash coming and converted their game worlds BEFORE Flash died. I think quite a lot about the company and it's founder, Artix, who plays a Paladin. Actually, if you visit their site and check out the Heromart, they have an original 8-bit ROM game file (use a Nintendo/NES emulator to play), called Dungeons & Doomknights. First and only one of their real-life products I've bought. lol Oh you get some codes to get some fun cosmetic stuff in AQ3D and a couple other games, but the game itself is really pretty fun! Kind of reminds me of the King's Quest games, only with a Castlevania feel and action to it. Artix himself did most of the coding and designing of that game. You can find lots of cool vids about AQ3D on Youtube. Gold Raven's channel is a good place to start. With all sorts of how-to videos. Anyway, AQ3D is a fun game, and if you like MMO's but don't want to bleed your wallet dry, this is a great alternative to those MMO's that focus more on the money end of things, or charge a monthly subscription fee. Because like I said, AQ3D is FREE-to-Play! Current max player level is 38. Game is presently in Open-Beta. I use this wiki site a lot for AQ3D. http://aq-3d.wikidot.com/ Especially if I don't log in for awhile Lots of GREAT info and links to the official site too! Oh yeah, you get a daily treasure chest, inside are some neat goodies. From FREE Dragon Crystals, to boosters (gold, exp, class exp,) travel forms, to even pets and cosmetic armor you can only get from the daily treasure chests! Time to open between treasure chests is 23 hours. Game/Server time is Eastern time zone in the USA. They are based in Florida.
  11. Remember you need to win 10 battles minimum to qualify. Oxbridge786's prediction.
  12. WOW! @GillyTook, that's crazy! It reminds me of a friend of mine who got rear-ended by a Semi truck a number of years ago. I'm pretty sure it was before she became a mom though. She drove a smaller car back then, a 2-door. So it was just her and her hubby at the time. Though that was down in a metropolitan area, I think near Milwaukee, if my rusty memory is recalling correctly. @Mouseykins, that's one way to look at it. You can trust yourself on the road, but not others. Also, what happens if there is some sort of emergency? You might HAVE to drive somewhere. It's good experience to have and to do it right by having a license and knowing the rules of the road. That lady I almost hit maybe didn't even have a license anymore, it's possible. I heard on the news about a guy who'd been driving 50 years and only was just found out to not have a license! I had ANOTHER close-call today. Some jerk in a truck was waiting to turn into my lane near an overpass. There was NOT enough space between the car ahead of me and myself for him to safely do this, so I had to jut out to the right lane which tapers and ends a few hundred feet ahead. Just because I was mad, I gunned it, made sure I was safely past that jerk and then went into that lane before the right lane ended. TWO close calls IN TWO DAYS if freakin' NUTS! I live in a pretty rural town. Only slightly over 6,000 people. Today's incident was just out of town near the highway. The jerk from today could've waited literally 2 seconds for me to be past him because nobody was behind me at all.
  13. Thanks! Yeah, bad drivers are a major pet-peeve of mine. Bad enough when drivers weave in and out of lanes, or turn without using their turn signals. This old lady, didn't even do that. I noticed her movement, and took my foot off the gas, if I hadn't, then I don't think I could've stopped in time when she DID pull out into the street, blocking all traffic on that side. I mean, the turn signals are SO easy, and they let people know if you want to change lanes, or turn off. So they know if they need to slow down to accommodate you or whatever. It's polite, it's the law, and it saves lives. Plus, you're less likely to get horn-blasted if you let them know you're about to make a certain move that involves turning or changing lanes. Agreed, bad weather is one thing, but today was only a little overcast. If you can't drive in clear weather, then you shouldn't be on the road. I mean, it's a privilege, not a right. Though it IS necessary for MOST people to do errands or go to work. But it's still only a privilege. Heh, sorry for venting again. I'm tired of bad drivers. They've been increasing more and more around here, even though tourist season is now over here.
  14. So I'm driving home after going to the grocery store. There's a truck in the meridian going left, and 2 open lanes where this old lady is waiting to leave Aldi's.... this person, starts pulling out, BEFORE THE TRUCK MOVES. So she begins BLOCKING BOTH LANES OF TRAFFIC! Starting positions as I'm driving toward this area. The Vs and ^s indicate the direction of traffic for those lanes. |_V_|_V_|_Truck_|_^_|_^_|Old lady After I was able to come to a stop... Old lady had the road ENTIRELY blocked. I was about 6-8 feet away from hitting her door. |_V_|_V_|_Truck_|Oldlady| If I hadn't slammed on my brakes as HARD AS POSSIBLE, I WOULD'VE totally slammed RIGHT into her. I blasted my horn, but all she does is clear her ear, smiles and waves at me as she turns around me! People like that need their licenses REVOKED!!!! I am so furious right now! >( Still shaking with how close that was!
  15. Oooooof! Computer issues can be SO annoying! Glad you are able to return to Neopets and TDNF! Welcome Back!
  16. Chances are it's Omicron, either 1 or 2. Both are easier to spread/catch than Delta or the original BIG strain. But they are FAR more mild as far as symptoms and risk goes. Since you are fully vaxxed, you'll probably be fine with just mild symptoms. So yeah, at least you shouldn't have to worry. That being said, Good luck! I hope you don't go stir-crazy being stuck inside while your symptoms run their course. lol But it shouldn't be too long right? Are they down to 1 week, or is it 10 days of staying in where you are?
  17. No, you're correct about the rules and how it works. What I'm saying is that if I have one fountain dip "saved", and I get another Fountain Faerie quest. Then, I can either abandon the new quest, or dip my pet into the fountain before completing the new quest if I decide to do that. Which means if I have a pet take a dip and then complete the quest, I'll have a trip to the fountain "saved" again until the next time I want to change a pet's color. Sorry if I wasn't clear with my initial post on this.
  18. LOL Cool and congrats on the FFQ! I use FQCs too, and those FFQs are nice! I wish Kaia would be more worth it. lol Stat-wise. When I get a FFQ I tend to use it on either of my pets, or if I don't feel like changing a pet's color I can save the trip to the Fountain until I get another FFQ. Then I use one, and then I complete the new one so I have that one as a "spare". I don't change my pet's colors often, but every now and then, with the seasons or around holidays.
  19. 86? lol I doubt it, but are you talking about Maxwell Smart, agent 86 of Control? XD Played by Don Adams, one of my favorite comedic actors of all time! WAAAAAY better than the movie with Steve Carrel. (Or however his name is spelled) LOL I just had to. lol I'm still a HUGE fan of the Get Smart series, even though it hasn't been on TV in ages. I used to watch reruns as a kid on Nick at Nite. lol So, obviously I'm not familiar with the anime 86. lol It seems you are keyed into romantic relationships as your focus in anime, would that be a fair assessment? XD I haven't gotten to Snow White with the Red Hair yet, but I've heard good things about it. SAO is awesome, and it's no surprise that you like Asuna and Kirito so much. lol One only need glance at your avatar to figure you're a fan. Though Aniplex can shove their over-bloated prices where the sun don't shine. From what I've seen of reviews, they overcharge us in America while other nations, like the UK don't have to pay nearly as much as we do. Again, going by complaint reviews I've read over the years at Rightstufanime's site. I'm looking forward to what happens after the end of War of Underworld, I HOPE it'll air on Cartoon Network like all the other main SAO episodes have. I do have at least some of the movies. Oridinal Scale was interesting. Didn't really care too much for Extra Edition though. I'm more into the story and how things are worked out, not to mention the broader interaction and relationships between all the characters. Have you seen Ouran, High School Host Club? I didn't think I'd like it starting out. A friend convinced me to watch it. But, I really got into it because of the pace of character development. Even by the last episode the characters are still developing. A shame there will never be a movie for it. but it ended pretty well, and I highly recommend it. The humorous interplay is GREAT. LOL I haven't read the Percy Jackson books, I've seen the Lightning Thief movie, I wasn't very impressed tbh. Unfortunately, I doubt my favorite novels will EVER become movies, which is a shame because they are so intricate and awesome. But I suppose maybe too much so, they would need the Harry Potter treatment, as in at least 1 movie per novel, maybe 2. lol There's just SO much going on that I think it would be difficult, even today, to turn them into movies. There are 7 books in "The Death Gate Cycle" series. A wonderful fantasy novel collection that takes place in a post, post-apocalyptic world. Heck, it's not even a world anymore, it was sundered into several, ages ago. This is the longest running and most comprehensive fansite for the series, it even has images and descriptions from the PC game that was created (loosely) based upon the books. http://www.immora.com/deathgate/index.php The game actually came in 2nd place in an International graphics contest back around 1992. The game that beat it was Warcraft II, lol Long before World of Warcraft was created. I'm betting it was the cutscenes that won the day for Warcraft II, some of the cutscenes in the Death Gate game, especially the last and CLIMACTIC one, were pretty lackluster.
  20. Currently watching some old-school anime. Yu Yu Hakusho! Almost done with the Dark Tournament arc. Not too crazy about the next arc, but that's ok, the last arc is pretty awesome, so it makes up for that. lol
  21. Remember that you need to win 10 battles to qualify if your faction wins, or a consolation prize if your faction loses. Oxbridge786's predictions for this round.
  22. Cool! Yeah, my nephew will be 13 in a couple of weeks and he's into science so I'm hoping watching Dr. Stone will get him 10,000,000,000% excited! Cool! It's been awhile. I have the box set too, but it's been awhile since I last watched them. Good movies. I think Warner Bros. made them, so they wouldn't be on Disney+ or Netflix even, unless there was a special agreement with them. *nods* Agreed. I have a Disney+ subscription, but that's ONLY for the vintage stuff, the newer/newest Disney stuff MOSTLY reeks like billion-year old non-dried out corpses. IMHO. That's the only streaming service I subscribe to, sometimes, I question if that's even worth it, given the garbage the Disney company cranks out these days. Ah well. lol
  23. Watching the anime, Dr. Stone, just finished season 1. I REALLY wish that Season 2 had run longer than 11 episodes, but it did finish a story arc, so it makes sense as a stopping point. Oh well. Gifting a copy to my nephew for his bday coming up in a couple of weeks, I hope he'll enjoy it as much as I do!
  24. I love older games. Like, Mega Man, Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, Legend of Zelda, and other older incarnations of these franchises. Online, besides Neo, I only casually play Flight Rising, and the same with AQ3D, a 3D MMO that's free to play. There is a pay aspect, but like Neo and Flight Rising, it's not required to play or progress in the game. You unlock some EXTRAS, including 1 job/class. For those familiar with the company, Artix Entertainment, you'll know which class I mean. Guardian Class. AQ3D has the BEST incarnation of the Guardian Class I've played. And I've played the original AdventureQuest and DragonFable games, unlocking Guardian in both. As in other games with this class, Guardianship, is a ONE-TIME payment of $25 and is a GREAT tank or Solo class. There is also a Dragon Guardian option, with only a couple other bells and whistles for a one-time payment of $50, though you do also get a good number of Dragon Crystals with the Dragon Guardianship. MORE Dragon Crystals CAN be purchased for real money, like NC is. BUT, there is a DAILY treasure chest you get to open, and when you level up you get a low-level chest to open as well. These chests will contain 3 things, the first thing is ALWAYS free Dragon Crystals, somewhere between 4 and 138 is the range. The 2nd is usually some consumable or even some Treasure Shards. The 3rd is always a Cosmetic piece of equipment. Cosmetic equipment won from a chest, or bought from the chest treasure shard shop can't be trashed, but instead CAN be converted to Treasure Shards, that you can save and use to buy other Cosmetic equipment/pets/etc. from the Treasure Shard shop. The game is in the OPEN-BETA phase right now. But there's quite a lot of content. 4 Basic classes, a nice number of Tier 1 classes, and 1 Tier 2 class so far. It takes a bit to unlock any of the Tier 1 classes, since you need to do a daily quest for that class' trainer to earn tokens for that class, and as you may have guessed, you can only do one Class quest per day. That being said, Guardians can turn over Guardian Tokens they earn similarly in exchange for some class tokens of a Tier 1 class. Making unlocking them a little faster. You can also change class almost at anytime, just, not during a battle. Getting each class to rank 10 unlocks all their skills, including a cross-skill that you may equip to use with any other class, pretty useful, those cross skills. AQ3D can be played on Mobile, tablet, or computer. On the computer, (Mac, PC, Linux) you need Steam to play it. A truly cross-platform game! Frankly, I play for the fun, but I stay for the bad puns and humor throughout the game and events. Classes can be ranked up to rank/level 100. At which point you earn a title for under your name in-game. Legendary *job name here*. I've maxed out Guardian and now I'm working a bit on the Pirate Class. Oh yeah, every rank up after rank 10, you get 25 class tokens for that class, and every 5th rank up (15, 20, etc) up to rank 50, you will receive a Legendary piece of Cosmetic Equipment based on that class. From Ranks 51-99 you just get the class tokens, until you hit Rank 100. Some people, who play a LOT, have already maxed out EVERY class. You can tell by the stars above their profile name when you click on them. 1 star per 100 total class ranks. Eventually, Bronze Stars switch to Silver, and those to Gold. I have 2 Bronze stars at the moment, as the total class ranks I've unlocked is, 245 so far. Most things are PvE, but there is the Battle Hall, for PvP matches, and you can duel with other players pretty much anywhere too. It's pretty cool.
  25. Hi @Secre , glad you got her, she'll be pretty useful depending on how you build her stats! lol In my first playthrough, I MISSED I think it was Velm, but it might've been Talenia, anyway, IF that happens, and IF I'm recalling correctly, they will be waiting for you in the next chapter. Ok, the old site I used for NQ and NQ2 maps aren't around anymore, I just looked, so JN's site for NQ2 is a good call. I DID find a site dedicated to NQ1 though, that I recall using waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. Apparently their Neo-account has been disabled. But there NQ1 fansite isn't a petpage. Here it is, just in case you try NQ1 and find this page useful. http://footballman.comicgenesis.com/nqmaps/walkthrough.html Thanks, I would HOPE so. I don't need/want anymore pets, just a lil credit and the prizes, even as No-Trade would be cool enough with me. I've always had a desire to make games, but I can't code or anything like that. lol Just above my head for the most part I'm afraid. ^^; Ah, was that the year in CC that they had a year of Bank Bribery and other FUN rewards? I wish they'd bring awesome options like those back again! Ah cool! So you COULD play, heck if you have your old memory cards your old save-games MIGHT still be there! Ah I see the issue with the vita, that is a lot for a very old game, though if there were MORE old games you could only get hold of that way, it MIGHT be worth it in the long-run. Hmm it depends on your emulator and system I guess. Sony used to actually have an emulation software, official, for PS1 games, but I THINK that was during the end-days of the PS2 and the start of the PS3. Since only the first PS3s were partially backwards compatible. Also though, finding the ROM, though might be tricky, I recall Nintendo and some other big names CRACKING DOWN on sites that provided ROMs to their signature series, like Zelda, Mario, etc. But that info is over a decade old, so now, who knows? I believe I've heard that some disc-console emulators can play your game-discs via your PC's dvd-rom drive. But it's been soooooo long since I read anything on emulation that may or may not be true. I don't think using an emulator to play your already owned discs would be illegal, if that's possible, but the ROMs would be. So I can't really advise you one way or the other on that, other than to stay on the straight and narrow I guess. Dragon Quest is awesome. I got the first game for the NES, then called Dragon Warrior, with my first subscription to Nintendo Power magazine. To the end of that publication's cancellation, that was their most popular promotional! It took me exactly 5 weeks to figure the game out and beat it, around the age of 9 or 10 I think. I can since, with running away a lot, get the legendary Armor and even the Sword from the Dragonlord's castle, by level 13, but you gotta be at LEAST level 22 or higher to have ANY chance against the Dragonlord. To do any DAMAGE to him even, otherwise, you miss or do only 1 damage, even with a critical hit. Leveling in that game was a PAIN. I usually did most of it around Cantlin, the walled city. Since saving up for either the Flame Sword (2nd best sword) or Silver Shield (Best Shield) was SUPER expensive and took FOREVER! I was either level 23 or 24 when I finally confronted and defeated the Dragonlord. I've played all 4 NES games, and I have their Nintendo DS remasters. Lots of fun for the most part. Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2 was pretty awesome! Still didn't get around to beating the last boss though. lol Swords, for the WII was interesting, and pretty cool. I wish they'd port it to the Switch for use with the joy cons or something. Since you're also a fan, you might know of this site already, if not, it's probably the most comprehensive DQ fansite around and has been around for decades! https://www.woodus.com/den/home.php Ah ok, that's cool that you found a VN that was actually interesting to you.
