So, having wandered onto the boards like the fool I am, I have noted that TNT have posted an entire post dedicated essentially to what doesn't work and how to get around it: http://www.neopets.com/neoboards/topic.phtml?topic=161118979 I mean... they only had an entire year to prepare for this event. Two officially gross foods, but the negg makes up for them! My screenshot program is being annoying on my new computer, but I resized it and maybe combined the two. Lets see if it works.

No worries - I got caught on the back foot last year by CC and had to spend about half a million just getting items as they all inflated in price!! I think I finished up with 16k in points, which wasn't bad for a last ditch effort. I should be well in excess of 70k points this year. I've probably spent more over the year on junk, but the prizes will hopefully be worth it. I tend to stick to the following point-cost ration: 1 point items: 10np and under 2 point items: 20np and under 4 point items: 200np and under 6 point items: 300np and under 8 point items: too expensive to buy as they sit around 1000np minimum and it isn't worth it. When CC is officially announced the prices sky rocket so 1 point items went for 30-50np, 2 point items 100-150np and 6 point items 700-1000np. So it's well worth stocking up now! The gold trophy requires 10k points, so you'll need a fair few items!

Clearly not enough though! I do wish we got to know how many signed up for each team. It would be fascinating to know just how uneven the balance is!

HI Secre, wow thanks for all the tips, especially the junk one! I just dumped everything in my Inventory but I'll be sure to go through my SDB carefully and keep it all from now on. I've rediscovered Food Club and yup, made 450k in 2 days. Good to be back

Joined Maraqua this year. Darigan last year but I've swapped between Darigan, Lost Desert and Maraqua over the years and went with the smaller team this time. I have no loyalty do I?? @jellysundae I almost picked Shenkuu so your unwavering support has clearly had an impact on me!!

I investigated. *gulps* Same issues with YYB, but then I'm using firefox, and had already seen my friend Mario saying it didn't play using that browser. I'll try it in Chrome in a bit. Tried SOSD, that's playable, just as long as I don't judge it from prior knowledge. x'D It's pretty hysterical shooting without charging the ball first (i.e. how I'd always played previously!) BALL IS SO SLOOWWWW. *gigglesnorts* No top time or accuracy bonuses to be had this year though, that's for sure! xDDDD I don't play SS or MSN so not even investigating those two, but OHEMGEE If this event really is as bad as it seems like it's gonna be, I fear the "I QUIT, AND FEEL THE NEED TO MAKE A DRAMATIC BOARD ABOUT IT!!!11!!" people, and many others, really will be quitting this time around. Especially after the video TNT just released talking about an NC Mall upgrade next, with UCs and more pet slots becoming available for NC purchase; that combined with a slapdash AC sends ALL the best messages, doesn't it!

Ain't that the truth! Judging by the boards our worst fears are realised, quelle surprise... I'm avoiding even trying anything yet, but it seems I'm gonna need to use a different browser. For some crazy reason, one of the Lottery Tickets I scored off of Dice-A-Roo today really came through. The Neopian Lottery avatar now joins my collection. Something Has Happened! You are now eligible to use 'Neopian Lottery' as an avatar on the NeoBoards! I've never won the lotto on Neopets before today, wasn't expecting to either with only tickets obtained from Dice-A-Roo, Wheel of Monotony, REs et al (I never bought my own lottery tickets).

Joined Darigan Citadel as usual hence my current display name. I've been trying to get the new Yooyuball game to run on both Opera and Pale Moon, but no luck since I'm stuck on the Play Now screen. The new version of Make Some Noise runs better on Pale Moon than it does on Opera to my experience and can get the minimum required score for MSN on Pale Moon too. The new version of SOSD also runs better on Pale Moon rather than Opera where it ran really slow, however the Jelly Chia goalie has slightly better A.I. this time around. Don't forget to fully charge your shots and pull off some diagonal shots if the Chia goalie is being a bother in this Flash-free version of the game. The new Slushie Slinger works fine on both Opera and Pale Moon, however the customers like to crowd up more in later levels and the Submit Points button is currently bugged at the time of this post and won't send. Press Ctrl + F5 while at the Slushie Slinger page to clear the browser cache for that page and you'll be able to send score for SS. I among others hope TNT is able to address these problems before the AC actually begins. Flash-free Yooyuball not working properly for many Neopians is a red flag knowing that it's the main event. EDIT: I've been able to get Yooyuball to run, but it's random on whether the Play Now button actually works. Game plays at a really slow framerate on Opera but plays at a more proper framerate on Pale Moon. I haven't been able to get to the send score screen in Flash-free YYB on Pale Moon but able to on Opera. EDIT 2: Don't forget to zoom out with your browser to around 62% or 50% after YYB fully loads in order to click on the Play Now button and get into the action. While on Pale Moon, don't press any keys on the keyboard while playing YYB otherwise the game will freeze. Mouse only if you're playing on PC.

Two of the chosen foods are chocolate items though I already have these ones in my gallery, but thanks for thinking nonetheless. Not sure why my currently Elderly-coloured Lab Rat decided to go with baby food this month. Maybe she knows that elders usually can't eat more solid foods easily.

Nice being a very subjective term! x'D Really irritated by how the screenshot randomly sticks the toolbar in there, which isn't even in the screenshot! >_> Stoopzy may find a use for that dung sandwich if his canvassing doesn't get more people joining Shenkuu. Well that's a lovely bit of serendipity!

Oh, hey, I placed! Thank you!! That stamp was my second choice, I'd initially considered this one, but in the end I just wasn't sure how I felt about it. Seemed a lazy/too obvious option? I dunno. I found this round tough! It was hard finding a background that looked like it could have been the background of the stamp, @lalladalladid the perfect job with that! I think it was being able to recreate the Shoyru's expression that sold me on my final choice. x'D

Hahaha, well that's pretty positive, Angelo! I do like the idea of us only being able to do better than last year, as we did so well last year! Wouldn't it be awesome to gain a higher position this year! Though here we go with stuff not being ready and sign ups being pushed back, so who knows when things will actually start... AND, ofc, this means none of the pre-event testing that we were promised -though honestly. who genuinely thought that would actually happen?? That would entail a level of organisation and efficiency that TNT hasn't so far shown itself to be capable of. So my fears of the games being close to unplayable notches up a little. I AM enjoying the pre-cup buzz though.

The latest Developer update reveals that the site revamp is getting back on track after the Altador Cup, including a complete Customization App overhaul as well as an all new NC Mall which will feature the release of UC pets. Prices and dates are currently unknown.

yeah im glad i didnt get my hopes up when they first announced that they were releasing UCs. i have a few GBCs that i could potentially trade for whatever this item ends up being, but given that they specifically mentioned that they want to keep the value of UCs, i'm guessing the price is probably going to be pretty steep. it's a pity, there's been few interesting suggestions for how they could be introduced through a hybrid np/nc system, either through a plot or map reward, or through a quest system, usually combining one free yearly zap with nc mall tokens to reset that cooldown. but i guess they want to recoup as much lost revenue from the inevitable decline in wearable purchases?
