fireembemphanatic
So with the increased random events this might be a good week to go for the Lever of Doom avvie, I'm thinking.
Rune Valentine
I'm hoping for better things to come :) I don't know much about JumpStart but one can only be optimistic in times of change!
light_star2
I think change is always good, it helps to generate new ideas! I haven't heard of jumpstart yet, but I think it's going to be a nice change!
chaotic_fashion
I really hope this means they'll skew closer to the original version of the site, rather than becoming even more restrictive with things like user and pet names, filters, etc. I'm going to try not to freak out before the next editorial, which will probably cover the "What about UCs? What about ancient accounts with iffy names? Will there be any changes to the filters?" sort of questions. This^ everyone on the PC was saying stuff about the UCs xD and the BD saying its a good thing and people will "hopefully" answer tickets faster and other issues. We shall see ! we have no choice xD so lets see how it goes =)
Mariposa
I'm not really familiar with JumpStart but I think I have seen the name on some of their games for sale in stores. Since it is a smaller company, I hope that the customer service will improve, especially in the realm of wait times for ticket responses (I have heard of people waiting for months). Then again, I am not sure if being owned by JumpStart is going to have any effects on TNT itself (e.g. an increase in staffers who respond to tickets) or if it is just a higher-up change that will not significantly affect the day-to-day running of the site. Since JumpStart was interested in Neopets for their older fanbase, and the older fanbase are the ones who have the potential to increase revenue by purchasing Premium/NC, the one fear I would have is an increase in the paid-for aspect of the site (yeah, I have Premium and have purchased NC items a couple of times, but I wouldn't want to feel pushed toward it). At the moment I really don't think that is going to happen, but this is the only potential drawback I can think of. Overall, I am excited to see what we have in store and am looking forward to those Random Events this week! ^_^
missmadiemay
MAYBE THEY WILL BRING BACK OLD STAMPS!!!!!!!!! Yeah right, but just maybe. Also, since there's going to be this big switch, maybe there will be more plots coming up! Oh how exciting that would be! Does anyone know though if this means they won't be working on the mobile app anymore?
musicdust
They specifically mentioned the mobile app being like continued because they're moving to jumpstart - so I'm pretty excited!
Zombiiesque
So, it looks like the Wheel of Slime is definitely gone. Which is not surprising! Lady Lyuba
Noog
I'm definitely interested in the switch to Jumpstart. I played most of their games as a kid and the 3rd Grade jumpstart game has to be one of my favorite games of all time; I played it so many times as a kid and it was the perfect balance of fun and educational. That being said, I don't know how they're going to approach an older audience, and I'm not sure how many TNT employees are staying the same. We'll just have to wait and see what happens and hopefully everything turns out well. :)
Novelista
So, it looks like the Wheel of Slime is definitely gone. Which is not surprising! Which Slime are you looking at? The newer one (ID 983) is still there (or was when I checked three minutes ago) and worked when I used it a few hours ago.
Zombiiesque
Nope, you're right. I was going through JubbyJubJack and that link's wrong, but our dailies here on TDN have the correct one and it's still there for the time being.
Angeló
There's no reason for the Wheel of Smile to be removed .. they can just change the pictures on it , like they did before already ...
hrtbrk
It may be removed because I believe it's not a Neopets game. It's actually a Nickelodeon advertisement :P Mouseykins and Lady Lyuba
HomuraAkemiTheHero
Maybe Neopets will get some more plots and new things to do and perhaps some more attention since Nickoloden wasn't giving them any hopefully this will be a change for the better also since they were interested in the older fanbase they might be a bit more lenient about messaging on site apprved forums. I haven't seen much about JumpStart but they might just make Neopets better. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope Neopets doesn't go down the drain. paperdoll66
I'm hoping that JumpStart will bring in more ad games, because they won't have to focus on promoting one company. I love ad games, but we don't really get that many. As long as everyone at TNT is keeping their jobs, I'm going to be optimistic about the change. They all love the site, so I am going to trust them. Novelista
The only way I agree with more ad-based games is that I'm at 247 and I need those last three for the avvie. :laughingsmiley: You know...this suddenly explains why the Daily Dare was delayed. Not because A3 was still "too tired" from the GMC!
Aquamentis12
I've never used any Jumpstart hardware or software. lol But my hope is that they will keep the diversity of games on the site. Such as the games of chance. And I hope that they won't be dumbing down the site content for under 13 access or something. Also, I am concerned about the battledome's future. I HOPE they intend to keep it going and that they can get out of the beta-test someday shortly after they switch the content from Nickelodeon's servers to Jumpstarts.... Or however a massive site like this is transferred. lol
babird1
Wondering how much an ownership change is going to be noticable to the end users. JumpStart and TNT sound like they are well aware that their fans are pretty hardcore and quick to protest unpleasant changes, as can be seen in this discussion and others around the web. So, if they have plenty of intelligence (which I think they do... except for when TNT "fixes" bugs in unfair ways), they will make changes slowly and carefully. It would be nice if they had a suggestion box on the website! :P Meanwhile, I will continue to wake up in the morning with the thought "What if they drastically change the Altador Cup? How will that change my Summer plans? What if I have no reason to bash my keyboard out of frustration anymore?" Wildbreeze

jomarlive
Well Jumpstart (Or Knowledge adventure) Did some educational games for high-school audience. So I think there is little or no changes to neopets (Beside reopening Neoschool even it went on hiatus) And also I think Battle dome isn't going to be removed in any way. Beside Battledome also improved math, Strategy and quick thinking skills. Even whatever they said. Neopets is already education for Jumpstart standard from their games to money management. Maybe the only changes is the removal of casino style/gambling games and nickelodeon related games and ads and Nickcash cards And also the possibility of Users craziness who is playing monkey quest. And maybe in the future Neopets will improved their Premium service. Beside getting that feature on neopet you also get Jumpstart membership that your Preschooler or your child can use. I mean look at their membership page. One membership can be used on all Knowledge adventure online games. https://www.jumpstart.com/Ecommerce/NewMemberIntroduction.aspx?pid=js&cid=membership Not every part of Jumpstart are for Kids. They also have for teenager like their Supersecret and Eat My dust online game.
thatlauralass
I've never heard of Jumpstart until now, but the fact they're talking about mobile possibilities is looking positive to me! If Nick are going to merge with the company and not simply hand over ownership, I don't think we'll have much to worry about honestly. :) I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with it and hopefully it'll attract more attention and liven up Neopets a bit again! Zephyr
Aha so it isn't my imagination due to my over-excitement that I've been getting more RE xD Regardless of Jumpstart's history & whatnot, I'm very excited for the time being because for the first time in forever errr 9 years (cue Frozen music) we have a hope of BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE! Snarkie's post made me more pleased as maybe, maybe something will be done about the filters or to cater to an older audience. At least we get a chance. We'll see. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Novelista
As far as I understand, there is no Daily Dare this year. The one I read claimed he was "tired" from the GMC. It sounded like it was on a delay, but there were going to be events in the meanwhile. In fact, if you check the "More Random Events" thread, it seems like a couple people have already received SHHs that may have something to do with a new event. (The screenie provided looked like something is going on! O.o)
