Bee, this seems to be a permanent, at least for now, event. The "truce" lasts for a week, so I believe we'll be able to choose a faction next Monday. Sign-ups will continue through Wednesday, with the battling starting Thursday. Then the winning faction is announced Monday morning, at which point the truce starts again for a week. So there's a week break, 3 days for sign-ups, and 4 days for battling.

 

I admit, until I have all the avatars/site themes, I'm going to be bouncing around to the factions that have the best chance of winning. Depending on what factions are included next, I believe the Awakened, Seekers, and Brutes will have the best chance of winning, due to the fact that they haven't won yet, so there are a lot of people wanting the avatars.

Based on popularity, I suspect The Awakened or Seekers will win the next round - it'll be interesting to see which faction options we're given.

So I did end up going with the Faerie Quest Refresher and I got my first random Faerie Quest today. Ended up refreshing an Earth Faerie quest for an...Earth Faerie Quest! <_<

Koralis, my friend had the exact same thing happen to him. I hope the item was at least cheaper the second time around?

 

On the third day, the boon just paid off for me, far more than I'd have won from the Caves. I converted a light faerie quest (+ 1 level) for 4100 into a fire quest (+ 2 strength) for 1 NP (didn't take long for pumpkin lid hats to sink back down). That's a savings of ~4100 + the cost of one training for the extra stat (average = ~14400 for me), for a total savings of 18500. And there are still a few more days to go for it to pay off even more.

 

Of course, now I'll be training nothing but level the next two days (the ray took away 2 today), but that doesn't really matter -- stats are stats, and I don't really need to worry about balancing for a while since I'm over 50 level trainings away from the next training tier.

Hey guys, finally found out what happened to cause the pains. I threw my Sacroiliac out of whack, + nerve pinches. Ouch? Heck YES! Treatment? Ice 3 times a day for 20 minutes each, for several days.
It's good to know WHAT went out of whack several DAYS ago.
Gave my chiropractor a laugh when I did my old fogey routine with the "My aching sacroiliac" line. LOL So I had(and gave) one nice laugh today. ;) I hope this heals up FAST!

*sigh* As if I needed one more thing to be concerned with. Blah.

 

I also am wondering what factions will be up for the next round. Brutes or Awakened would be a good bet, considering neither of them have been available yet. Not sure yet who I will pick for the next round, but it will be interesting to see which factions are up for the choosing!

 

Hopefully I heal up by the next battles, AND the AC, so I can stand to sit longer at the computer. lol That and it'd be NICE if my back would feel better in time for my birthday next week. lol I mean, I KNOW I'm going to be a year older, but I'm not THAT old... yet. ;) Not old enough for these aches and pains anyway. LOL

Today's quest was an earth faerie, but it was only 176 NP, and I didn't want to cancel only a 1/3 chance of movement to risk getting a 100% chance of movement (air) or only 1 stat (light)... unfortunately, that 1/3 chance came true. At least it was cheap.

Super happy the order finally won! (i know I'm a little late on the celebrating, just joined the forums :P) i chose the cartogriphication boon and so far it really hasn't paid off for me yet.. I've gotten the 10000 np quite often before just on my own and now that i have this boon i can't seem to get anything good :thumbsdown: maybe I should have chosen something else..? how is everyone elses boons going??

 

On a side note, when the time comes to choose another faction which should we choose? If it's out of the three that have already won, which faction should we choose? or if there's a choice to choose a faction that hasn't won yet would it be a better idea to go with that faction, are they more likely to win? I don't know what to do. :worried:

I think I might go with the Seekers or with the Awakened. Def not the Brutes. If the Thieves are still option, I'm going with them. Because Kanrik.

As far as understood, we are going to choose another faction next round? I mean, when Sway won, they were out from the choosing options, then now that the Order won, probably they will be out... will this just keep going until there's just the last two factions?

Well I was pleasantly surprised to find that picking an AC team also comes with 150NC :)

 

I went straight to the mall and bought a FQ Cookie! Refreshed my first quest from an Air Faerie into a Fire Faerie.

Just a quick update on the FQ refresh boon:

 

I've traded in 3 quests so far: light for fire, air for earth (which still gave me movement), and air for air (which still gave me movement...). Each new quest was considerably cheaper than the old one, and the total savings so far has been 29.7k (including the cost of 1 training saved by trading light for faerie; i.e., the average cost of 2 red codestones as of Wed.).

Out of 9 quests so far, 1/3 have been air and another 2/9 have been earth that gave movement. And those have been the last 5 quests in a row. *sigh*

I usually find the treasure in the Faerie Caves 3-4 days/week. Ironically, I haven't found it yet this week. Still, even assuming 2k/day + 1 day of 5k, I'm coming out ahead. Please, please, please let tomorrow's quest (first or second, I'm not picky) be a special faerie. Or at least not give me movement.

TNT has confirmed that there will not be any further prize point/prize shop awards from the obelisk; it's just a site feature for those of us who enjoy battling/avatar collecting, now.

The boons are nothing to sneeze at, either. I earned an extra 30k of stats/reduced prices from refreshing faerie quests, and I only used it 3 of the 7 days I could have (well, unless I get a random FQ before midnight today) -- and it would have been a lot more if I spent more per training (my current training is only ~14.5k/stat). I didn't even get all that lucky with my refreshes -- no special faeries.

 

When the stock discount is available, that's a guaranteed 35k from the boon. And if you have more than 60,833,330 NP in your bank account, the interest boon is worth even more (~600 NP more per million -- though if you have that much NP, do you really need to worry about making a few k more?).

 

I don't know exactly what the minimum is, but I've heard it's less than 100 battles over 4 days -- that's 25 battles/day, and ~15 battles per day give you additional prizes, anyway. For me, it's worth spending <15 min. per day for 4 days to qualify for a boon, since very few things net me 30k+ in that amount of time. Once all the factions have won once, it'll be harder to predict who will win (to qualify for boons), but for now, it's definitely worth it.

I went with Cartography, Nothing GREAT as far as the np amounts I found, but better than throwing 400np away "for luck". ;)

 

About 9 and a half hours until the truce and boons end. I wonder who will be available next for the choosing? If we decide to throw out numbers to one faction, we may turn the tide for that faction. There are a fair number of us who've supported the Order all this time, as well as the newcomers who joined from the last round. :)

 

It will be interesting to see who we can choose from tonight and who will win the next round. ;)

Which do you guys think we should throw out power behind? I'm not really a fan of the Undead, but battling The Sway AND Brute Squad opponents might be easier.

I thinking, Awakened or Brute Squad, simply because they haven't won yet.

I'm thinking much the same as you. Even though I didn't go with the Sway and still want to get their avatar, Awakened or Brutes would be smartest since no one has their avatars yet. I prefer the Brutes, but I haven't really looked at either team's support system to determine which are more likely to win. Anyone care to share their knowledge?

Pretty sure Awakened will win by a long shot. Generic warriors vs the undead partycrashers. The fact that the Brutes discussion thread doesn't even have one full page here is also very telling.

From what I've seen on the Neoboards, there seems to be a split. The majority of the BD chat is going with the Brutes, while it seems everyone else is going with the Awakened.

Hmm, this looks like a test of popularity vs. dedication. Since everything else, according to TNT, is based on dedication and they try to adjust for popularity, I'm leaning towards the Brutes.
