This is why I always preferred working as a personal Nanny :( I think some people can't keep their sick kids home though because they don't have the means to have them watched and if they miss work they don't have the money to take care of their children. Also some people can carry "sickness germs" on their body that don't effect them that could effect someone else. You never know :((

I that exact same conversation with a friend of mine who has three kids in school right now. I understand how illnesses like the flu are already contagious prior to showing symptoms. Nothing you can do if you don't know your child is sick. I know some parents don't have the luxury of staying home with their kids when they're sick or have family around to help out.
