I nearly forgot about this! I received Snow Flake Mobile, which is actually pretty cute.

I always love the Advent Calendar. It brings me back to neopets even when I was on hiatus. I'm pretty pleased about the prizes for today too!

FINALLY COMPLETED ES! Wow, that was painstakingly annoying. 

W.O.W! I thought Itchy Invasion was rough, but Edna's Shadow took the cake! I didn't think I was going to make it, today, but, somehow (and I still don't know how) I pulled it off. I hope tomorrow is challenging, but not like those two. Spyke, have you tried the TDN guide? I tried a petpage, too, but TDN's guide make it more clear/more sense, to me. Hope you make it and anyone else who is trying, too!

I watched the youtube walkthrough and used a petpage, but I'm still not successfully completing level 5, let alone getting close to breaking 900.This one might not end up happening :c

I completed the sending eight scores challenge and the nova defender challenge right away. The Edna's Shadow is going to take me sitting down and actively focusing on it to have the slightest chance of being successful. My high score is in the 300 range... 900 will be a steep effort. I'll have to try it later today.

You're close to reaching the 500 mark! :)
 
If you think your posts aren't being counted be sure to check your post count before posting and then again afterwards to see if it's indeed increasing or staying the same. Also remember that some section such as Games and Dailies do not increase your post count. If your post count is not increasing then I would maybe send a PM to Spritzie and she can look into it.
 
If you're looking for easy ways to increase your post count there's two places you can do this. Simply post a comment on the news threads and also the news threads in Customization. Both sections tend to get very few comments added to what we're announcing. You can simply say why you like what was released, or why you don't like it, etc.
 
From what I've noticed your post count is increasing, I'm not sure how much you've posted in the last little bit but I've noticed your count is now higher then what it was when I checked a little while ago.

OMG. I did it. Sweet mercies. All three challenges complete on day of release. Itchy Invasion took many tries, but it got easier and easier as I kept doing it. Your eyes adjust to the pace as you keep working at it. Also, (and I don't know if this helps) I opened literally like 30 tabs on my browser in an effort to slow the game down. I also made sure I was playing in the smallest window possible so my mouse didn't have to move as far. It happened. It's done. *dies*

I just made a Darigan Tonu on my side account. Let me know if you want to fight him for the avatar. He's got less than 10 hp so he's not likely to win against anyone. I picked him up at the pound and painted him.



EDIT: I think I've come up with a system that will involve less neomailing back and forth.


1. Send Tyyren a fight challenge through the 2-player battledorme.

2. Send me an neomail at geoterza so I know to check on it. Don't bother neomailing my side: I'm only looking at the challenge queue.

3. When it's your turn I'll start the fight and send you a neomail to let you know it's started.

4. When you join/finish the fight (he's only got a few hp) neomail me at geoterza to let me know if you got the avatar and then I'll know I can heal him up and move on to the next person faster.

5. If you haven't made your move within about 24 hours I will withdraw from the fight and move on the the next person in the queue. If that happens, and you still want the avatar, just start at step one again and maybe we'll have better luck the next time.

Today I got the avatar on my first donation.
It was my 375th time donating I donated the BBBB I donated 100 items a day for the first three days, skipped several days, then started donating again three or four days ago I donated all different kinds of rarities the first three days. Highs (80s, 90s, etc) and lows (30s, 40s, etc), The last three days I donated only once a day I have donated 4 days in a row consecutively, and 7 days total So, here's what I'm pretty sure of:
You do not get the avatar after 7 consecutive days (because I didn't donate 7 days in a row) You do not get the avatar for donating a range of items (I donated a mix of all sorts of items, and got the avatar with five of the BBBB) You do not get the avatar for donating a range of rarities (I donated lots of rarities, 30s, 40s, 80s, 90s, etc, and got the avatar using the BBBB, which is around the 30s, I think) I don't think you get the avatar after three consecutive days donating, because I donated three days in a row right from the get go and didn't received anything. I did, however, stop before reaching four days in a row. I started back several days ago, and today would have been my fourth day in a row. Maybe you get it after donating four days in a row?
 
EDIT: Oh, and I found out that if you received the avatar, the notification doesn't go away. If you have received the Charity Corner avatar it will be at the top of your Charity Corner screen no matter how many times you refresh.

I just got the avatar on my 115th donation. I was donating BBBBs. I missed one day of donating. Maybe you have to participate in seven days total, not seven days in a row?

I have reached my goal of 100 donations and I'm done wasting my time with this event. I've donated 500 items to the cause. I'm expecting and avatar and at least a bronze trophy depending on what they have the requirements set on and what past trends have been. Good luck to everyone!

Did anyone else insist on spending every single one of their points? I bought 6 Crumpled Gift Wraps and I'm not entirely sure why.

My team for this week is Senor Malo, Lawyerbot, Bancha Ninja, Kikocat, and Breik. I've always had Senor Malo and Bancha Ninja on my team, so that was pretty exciting to see them back. Breik always has had a good showing too in the past, even though I usually went with Snarkie as my goalie. Lawyerbot was some kind of naive hope choice in that I want him to do well because the previous Lawyerbot did well. Kikocat was not originally on my team. I had chosen Droplet, but modified my choice based on what hrtbrk said above about her being laid off. Just to be safe. I had been debating between Kikocat and Droplet to begin with, so it wasn't that difficult a choice for me as to who would replace Droplet this round. Kikocat... chosen solely for the snake bite piercings, tbh.

Rank 8 right now, almost to rank 9! Higher than my rank in previous years at this point in the AC.

Yup. And this is why the AC was completely ruined a few years ago. Even more reason for them to retire the cup after its 10th year.

Congrats on finding your magma time! I had found my magma time, but after the server changeover to jumpstart, my magma time no longer works, so I assume it's been reset. I don't know if I want to put the time in to finding it again :/

I still don't love the idea of avatars that people miss being sick or out of town, so It's really nice they at least gave us some extra time :)

This is a time of wait and see. While change is the only constant in the universe, slow change is lasting change and not all change is for the better. I want to see new and exciting content but I don't want the site to turn into something so different that I no longer want to be here. Games like Key quest has appeal to those of us who don't play the flash games as much because you just don't have the time to perfect it enough to get a trophy or even make the maximum np. It allowed for greater interaction on the site as well between players other than offsite fan sites and the neoboards. The chat feature needed help frankly and once glitches were resolved, Key quest was a keeper IMO. Some site events guarantee that people come back year after year such as Advent Calendar or Altador Cup.
 
I think part of Neopets' problem in the past has been marketing and advertising and a certain level of iniquity directed to international players. I first discovered the site in 1999 through a banner ad. These days, ad blockers block banner and side ads. Even I block the ads on the site because they take up valuable page space and slow down page loading plus can be vulnerabilities that leave you open to malware attacks. Neopets and their owners needed to find other ways to advertise and market the brand beyond internet ads. Zazzle, occasional team ups with McDonald's and others just isn't enough. If you didn't know what Neopets was in the first place, you wouldn't have been interested in Zazzle merchandise or even the toy in the McDonald's kids meal. Those approaches were basically preaching to the choir. Hopefully Jumpstart understands how to market and advertise an online game site like this if their aim is to increase membership and revenue from it. They also need to understand the membership on the site... a lot of players have grown up so this site has many adult players and so there's a lot of brand loyalty. That's something they need to consider when they are making changes. You want to attract new players; what demographic are you going to target? Do you want to build on your brand loyalty; lots of considerations and planning for the way forward. They also need to prioritize the basics such as a site that works with minimal glitches and interruptions. You want a smoothly running, efficient network where your're maintaining and expanding as needed and not fighting fires every five minutes. I hope all goes well and we end up with a Neopets we all can continue to love, play on and enjoy.

But the press release didn't say "several"; it said "a number" (which is just about the vaguest term they could use, but to me indicates a substantial portion).
 
I don't know. Neopets has grown bloated and stale over the years, hardly keeping up with the times. While they do have strong loyalty, they've had difficulties attracting new users for years now. And TNT's efforts at innovation have fallen short, despite things like Petpet Park, Key Quest, and Habitarium. I think they've been afraid to cut anything because everything has its fans (I've actually been relieved that DD, the Neopies, etc. were cut, at least temporarily). I think a shake-up was necessary for the continued success of Neopets, because fresh eyes can help. I just hope that they kept enough (and the right members) of old TNT to keep Neopets as "Neopets" even as it's brought into the 2010's. And I really hope that they gave generous severance packages and plenty of notice. I appreciate what TNT has brought us, and I wish all the members, past and future, success. I hope they find somewhere new to use their talents and creativity, somewhere they can really take flight without the constraints of a 15-year-old site.
 
And I hope Neopets goes somewhere exciting and creative, and soon. I don't know what it should look like, but I know that I, for one, am ready for some substantial changes (and not just because of the lag... I have been demotivated and just playing more out of habit than anything else, since TFR, with very brief resurgences of interest for things like BD beta, Obelisk War, and my personal discovery of Food Club. TFR was 5 years ago; that's a long time to be waiting for something "better").
 
That being said, my confidence is not very high given the sustained brokenness of the site, which only seems to grow worse as more things are taken down or stop being supported/updated. I'll believe they're dedicated to Neopets as it is (and not some amalgamation of apps/platform games that use the characters/world) when they show that they are.

I got another dark faerie today. The item she wanted was about 1.9k. But yet another of my friends got a fountain faerie quest. Luckily enough, that friend already had all of her dreamies, so I was about to paint my Blue Kougra into a Plushie Kougra. It was about 54k for the item, but absolutely worth it :3

So, I'm just SO happy with the outcome of the latest MME (and with the fact that I managed to get the bonus <3 ), that I needed to show to you my very own Cy-Anna and Cy-Elsa :D
 
I'm also accepting suggestions of better items for Anna to hold (couldn't think of anything better than that bag), and eventually something better for Elsa to hold too. Also any other ideas and suggestiosn you guys may have! :)

Congrats to everyone who got the avatar! Way to brave through that madness, guys. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be donating much more, but I just might. I do like the idea of the r90-99 items, but I'm out of those I want to donate and don't want to buy more.

My thought is also no, unless you want to consider movement as the qualifying factor like a person above mentioned since that would make sense to me. There's always room to expand the plan later if you feel you should add the other items after all!
