It's usually quiet this time of year as people are heading back to school and there are no events on Neopets.
 
I don't think it's dying, and this is typical behaviour across several websites and games.

I think it's just the normal down time between the AC and Charity Corner. Everybody gets super involved during the events, then kind of slacks off in between. (I'm guilty of this as well!)

I hope not too!! I'm still sad about losing my original account over 10 years ago (got hacked and quit for about 7 years), but since re-joining I love neo even more! Maybe I missed out on the glory days but I love the events and generally don't miss a day of dailies at the very least.
As for Leopets - I've never heard of this... Maybe I'll have to look it up. But if it's another pet site there's just no way I'd make a switch after spending so much time (and yes, money - I've become a little overly obsessed with customization)... I get weirdly attached to things - despite the fact that my pets are digital I still have a bizarre sense of loyalty to them haha!

She is adorable! Congratulations! I accidentally abandoned my grey faerie quest and I am still kicking myself for it.

Yep, the Beta BD is nice, giving out prizes and all. You can get 15 prizes per day, and I think the NP amount caps off at about 1,500np. Not a lot, but a nice touch. It's also nice that you can receive Weak Bottled Faeries from the BD. I remember when those first came out, INSANE prices like 60k+ for ONE Weak Bottled Light Faerie. Not the case anymore. lol The Light Faerie is popular for some of the faerie abilities.
 
Anyway, Charelan's tip is quite good. Chia Clown should be among the easiest opponents in the BD. I don't know myself if the difficulty really matters for earning certain prizes. I usually go after the MIGHTY difficulty, the red face. Which makes the opponents as tough as they can be, stat-wise.

That link is where you go to sign up for a faction, where your skirmish battles can be counted DURING the fighting, and of course, where you go to claim your boon, if your faction won, or your consolation prize if your faction didn't win. A skirmish JUST finished, so it'll be a week before we can choose new factions.
 
To view the Obelisk War challengers, you go to the link with all the currently available challengers. Select from the dropdown menu Obelisk War and that will take you to the Obelisk Skirmish challengers. The war has been over for quite some time, but these skirmishes are kind of like guild battles, only it's determined by battles of individuals every week, and then whomever racks up the most wins I believe, is how the winning faction is awarded. Boons last for a week and then 3 random factions are up for selection again.
 
Since the prizes from the Ugga Ugga dome, where all skirmish battles are fought in, are pretty common and not worth much. I'd recommend getting your 15 prizes from another arena, such as from battling Chia Clown, before doing your skirmish battles.

Downsize! (Spelled just like that WITH the Exclamation mark) Works 1 time per battle, as you may know. it blocks 50% of damage and then disappears until the next battle. There is another version, Downsize Power Plus, AVOID THIS! It blocks all damage, but then disappears FOREVER.
 
If you want a 1-use item that you must continually rebuy, go for a Thick Smoke Bomb ONE-use, but blocks ALL damage that turn. MUCH cheaper than the retired Downsize Power Plus. But at your stats and against the Chia Clown, I doubt you'll need anything as pricey as either of the one-use items I just mentioned. Just make sure you have a Downsize! in your battle set and it'll pay for itself easily. They should be under 10k. :) Chia Clown's weapons don't have many icons to block or to defend against. So he should be fairly easy for you. If you need a SUPER cheap once-per-battle healer. You might consider Slime Potion which heals 10, or I forget what the price is for a Lesser Healing Scroll, but I believe it's a bit more powerful on the once per battle healing. Sorry, I've been up all night, and I'm not really at 100% Right now... ^^;

All relatively inexpensive
asfor customization, I'm not too good at that either, but I'd highly suggest dress to impress to try everything out before you buy it.

Cute! Gnorbu's have a lot of cool clothes so you shouldn't have any problems coming up with something awesome!

If you were okay with "big budget" petpets, an eventide or faerie petpet might be a cute option with the cloud paint job. (I'm not sure of your personal style, though.) :)

Those are really awesome characters. I just get really attached to my permanent pets and want to make RL plushies of them... I know I'm weird.

I mean scientifically we're programmed to stick together. Biologically we're engineered to keep the race alive so that means not only looking out for ourselves but also others. I mean there's a lot of hate in the world, don't get me wrong. People break into groups and there's power struggles and such. But as a whole, in our species, we obviously want to be the dominant life form.

Meet Ringo, I was on my way to my glass blowing class when I notice something in the road. I thought it was a bird and there was a car coming on the otherside when I noticed it was a kitten. I slammed on the brakes and go out of the car to stop the car coming on the other side and he ran to me meowing. I immediately made a beeline to the vet. He was tested for feline leukemia, the test came up negative. He has ear mites and a ton of fleas along a bad upper respitory infection. He's only five weeks old, I'm on my way home at the moment where I'm going to clean him up and give him his meds. He will be okay but he has to be quarantined in a carrier for 2 weeks in my room.

Someone most likely dumped him in the woods after he got sick and he's been on his own for at least 2 days. $150 vet bill but worth every cent.

He's not the prettiest and cutest kitten right now but that's because of his RI, he'll be up to speed in a few weeks.

Just felt like sharing my eventful day.

I think Neopets when I was little helped me learn to be kind because when you are like 5 it's easy to become selfish but I always put my Neopets first and I can't abandon them because they always seemed so sad and I ended up donating neopoints some days because I didn't see anything I wanted in the shops. Also it also helped me learn about how somethings in the economy work today and whenever I somehow end up with a conversation about the economy I end up comparing today's economy to Neopets because when you think about it it's really similar like the US's economy is fragile and something such as the Stock Market would end up affecting everybody while in Neopets something as simple as including a new daily can cause prices to skyrocketing and by new daily I mean The Coincidence when it first started.Although I'm not really making anything from the Neopets Stock Market right now I just need to wait like in the real world because sometimes to make money from stocks you need to wait a long time sometimes.
