Got to Rank 15 tonight! :D 50 games to Rank 16, or 300 more games to reach All-Star on YYB alone. Also, my score saves of 11 and 12 both broke the 100th send milestone. Scores of 13 have reached 118 in total. :D Total games with a score of 10 and higher stand at 496. Out of 534 games/wins. I'm a tired or I would figure out my goals per game average, or other things I'd usually check. 6454 goals so far though.

Based on last week's editorial, it sounds to me like abstaining is WORSE than sending low scores. The editorial says: "...sending more scores is better than sending none..."

So while sending high scores is better than sending low scores, "hurting" your team seems to be a mis-characterization. It means that low scores hurt your team if the alternative is sending a high score. I think the article is saying that the best way to help your team is to try your best and play the most times. If you can't do that, pick either trying your best or playing the most times (no guidance has been given on this point). Either of these is better than not playing at all.

Last time around I had some very highly qualifying participants, which made it REALLY hard to choose. If it comes down to a couple to a few people and I can't pick again I am going to use a site that picks for you at random. (Like pulling names out of a hat)

I don't want users to be discouraged to post their application, please if you are close to all the requirements you should still apply! I want everybody to have a shot if they are close but not quite there!
 
Like I said above, you do not have to meet ALL the requirements, just some of them. The 200 avatar requirement is the more firm requirement I have for everybody, why should I give a person with 50 avatars the chance to win something people with 250+ avatars are struggling to obtain due to the real world money requirement.
 
Even if you don't qualify I urge you to sign up and participate.

After a 2 month hiatus or something like that, sold 6k of SMUG, 1k of my 2k of SKBD from the earlier rise, and 9k of FAER (which is surprisingly at 85) for around 1.166 million. Yay!

Still at Rank 12, just a couple more YYB games later for Rank 13!

I go with the Order whenever it is available, because of their Refresh Quest boon which goes nicely with Faerie Fortune Cookies :)

I inconveniently started Charity Corner with exactly 8 days left, so I have to do every day if I want the avatar. Thank goodness for the inflation on the plushies you get from the battledome - I had tons stocked up in my SDB to fund this riddle-game.

Oh my goodness! 4/5 things went UB within minutes! I'll just wait to see if I can buy the prize later.

I use this method too. I find it works about 99% of the time in one-click battles (when it only takes one round to bring your opponent to 0). I've had it work in battles that require more than one round, but it sometimes takes more than one try. For me, this method is usually faster than waiting.

Pretty sure that simply means you were 2NP from hitting the 1.5k pure cap on the battledome, as most opponents seem to have pretty "set" neopoints awards in all other cases.

The first move you send will glitch (error sending moves), what I do is just pull of the ability, then put it back on, hit fight again. It sends the move and if you 1-hit KO, should finish the fight with no problem.

Well, that will be the irony to rule all ironies, won't it? :D "Hey guys! The mess is over, we're finished moving, here are your gifts and-OWAITANOTHERGLITCH"

I'm just here to celebrate with you - THIS JUST HAPPENED!! Ahhh!!! It's a lucky day, indeed!!!

I like the easy access of ebooks. Especially short stories and poetry and whatnot, however paper books will never ever go out. I'm a huge advocate for scientific advancements, but there is a difference between forward and backwards. The human body is designed for tactile interaction with our environment (I recently did a thesis on this very topic). Two secondary reasons are a) sentiment and b) health.
 
I went to the book launches for Harry Potter books 4-7. Some of them are signed by 'Dumbledore' and the sixth one I read ten times in a few months. Its spine has come off completely and I've been using it as a bookmark. My books have stories. I still have all the picture books from my childhood with a lifetime of chocolate smudges and tears where I've turned a page slightly too eagerly. You don't get that with ebooks.
 
As far as nigh time reading goes, the human brain is wired to perceive light in a certain way. We rely on darkness to keep time and screens mess with that. Being on a computer late at night is a completely different experience from reading a novel by the light of a bedside lamp. I have a rule that I don't go on my computer and expect to fall asleep straight away. When I've decided to 'go to bed', that obviously means the telly's switched off, so why should it not be the same for computer screens?
 
Books aren't archaic. They're necessary. Without them, our society would simply not function. It sounds somewhat melodramatic, but I honestly believe that if we no longer had books we would loose a vital part of what makes us human.
