  1. Hey everyone. I have a cloud Peophin uft if anyone wants her. (Adopted and zapped) http://www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=AwwwwwIneedone
  2. Thank you <3 I'm really proud of myself atm and I feel like this whole thing has given me an opportunity to learn more about myself and grow a lot into my new-found adulthood. On holiday rn and feeling super good :3 Thank you! The TDN community has always been so supportive and lovely, I can't wait to be part of it again. And are you referring to the Pride and Prejudice reference or the Egg Cave creatures? :P Either way, thanks <3
  3. It's been so long since I've been on these forums, but I just had to share this cool piece of news with all you lovely strangers. I've got my last appointment at the end of December just to make sure, but it looks like I won't need to go anymore! I'm super excited about next year and feeling so much better. You guys have always been so lovely and I'm gonna start posting again :D
  4. Kudos to you for doing what makes you happy. I mean, yeah, it feels good to be consistent and always follow through with our plans, but circumstances change. If you never changed your mind about anything, you'd never learn anything and it's important to know that if you try something, and you realise you'd rather be doing something slightly different, then that was an important learning experience you had and it was meaningful and worthwhile spending time on. Let us know how the new major goes this semester, I'm sure you'll do brilliantly <3
  5. Wow, so many people seem to be saying nay. Relationships are complicated man, regardless as to whether they're romantic or platonic. Honestly, if both of you want to still be friends there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't. It might be awkward at first and it might take time and a lot of awkward conversations, but it's worth it to have someone in your life who you care about and who cares about you. Essentially, I think it comes down to whether or not you think it's worth it. If you're willing to put the work in, go for it. If you think you'd be content with letting that relationship go (which is totally okay btw), then let it go.
  6. Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is absolutely hilarious. It appeals to my warped sense of humour on so many levels :P Yess, Shane Dawson is adorable and fantastic. I assume you saw his coming out video? Really insightful, and he covered some things I know aren't talked about much and a lot of people can relate to. If y'all are into gaming channels, Geek and Sundry is pretty much the most comprehensive nerd-ville space on youtube. It's run by Felicia Day, who does mostly gaming stuff, but it also has a tonne of content on cosplay, comics, and some tv/ movies. Definitely worth a look. And I couldn't help but notice that no one really mentioned webseries'. I'm super into literary adaptions and some of my favourites are: Lizzie Bennet Diaries (Pride and Prejudice, produced by vlogbrothers) Nothing Much To Do (Much Ado About Nothing, done by some New Zealand students) And apologies for the self-promotion, but I wrote one called Call Me Katie which has been recently getting quite a bit of attention form the webseries community (adaption of Taming of the Shrew). Anyway, there are a whole bunch out there of really varying quality. They're pretty nice because the episodes are generally very short.
  7. Yeah, I started zapping another pet and it was changing things. Must've been some sort of weirdness with that particular pet. Oh well. Thank anyway guys :) This topic has been edited by a member of staff (.Brianna.). The original topic is now answered and will be closed. 8. I've been trying to zap a red elephante with the lab ray and it's come up with no effect for around 6 zaps in a row. This seem statistically unlikely, so I was wondering if there's some particular reason it wouldn't zap my neopet. None of the fan sites mention anything like this. Does anyone have any ideas?
  9. Oh wow, so the past few months have been so hectic. One of my best friends since kindergarten is moving to London in September to study film and she decided she needed a project to keep her occupied until then. At the end of last year, she approached me and said, "Hey, you like Shakespeare, right?" To which I replied with a resounding, "Obviously." So we got together with one of her friends from her film class from high school and wrote an adaption of Taming of the Shrew. I've never done anything like it before and it's honestly been one of the highlights of my existence. I wanted to share it with you guys because it means so so much to me and TDN community has always been so supportive in everything I've done. "In a world consumed by the patriarchy, Katie Minola has made it her mission to aggressively educate every ignorant boy she can find – that is, all of them. Unfortunately, her sister Bianca once watched a romcom and now wants a boy of her very own, which means Katie will have to make some compromises. After successfully auditioning for the Padua Street Performing Arts High School annual production, she decides to document the excitement of her final year of school, fully expecting complete banality. However, Peter Glover, who wouldn’t date Katie if he was paid $299 to do so, is suddenly offered $300, and they unexpectedly and reluctantly become allies. And so, in their various quests for boys, wealth and the moral high ground, all captured in their vlogs, Katie, Bianca, Peter and their friends come to learn that complete banality probably doesn’t exist." If you have a sense of humour and hate the patriarchy, check us out on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRPZ2r0HL8KGABsNjDgnSJQAuRDOvJKL9 We also have a Tumblr: http://fatgoatproductions.tumblr.com/ and Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fgpcallmekatie?ref=ts&fref=ts Thank you so much, this series is my baby and it means the world to me.
  10. For me it's probably the lack of bigger plots. I like the long-winded strategy games with a story and an outcome and the arcade games just don't really do it for me. I guess I'm just frustrated by a lack of purpose. I keep thinking of ideas for things to keep me amused temporarily, but there's nothing really that makes me want to jump on and play all the time. The game just seems kind of vague at the moment.
  11. That sounds really difficult to live with, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I know it can be especially hard when someone holds a position of power over you (especially in a parental/ guardian type role) and they abuse it. It's good that you're aware of what's going on and how he's affecting you. Often in these situations, the victim will either be unaware that anything is wrong or downright blame themselves for the situation. The daily drag of having to put up with this is a really brave thing to push through. It might not seem like much to some people, but I know how it can really wear you down when it's someone you live with. I hope you do well at home and feel safe, and know that we're always happy to be here on TDN <3
  12. Love Bob's Burgers so much. It's impossible to pick a favourite character because, like everyone's been saying, a lot of the charm is that the family work off each other so well. I really love Tina though, she's just such a real early teen. Most shows wouldn't have a character like that because it's quite a stark portrayal of what a teenage girl's life is like as she finds herself amid a sea of raging hormones. And this is a video of every time Bob say's "Oh God" in the show. I thought you might be interested :P
  13. Yeah, this has been a thread of really great advice. Basically, yes it is possible if that's what you both want. The absolute most important thing is communication. If you're not on the same page, it hands down will not work. If you're a shy person who is afraid of starting difficult conversations (totally understandable), that's going to have to be something you overcome. I'm having a lot of issues like this with myself and amongst my friends at the moment and honestly the huge difference between the successful ones and the painful, messy ones is communication. I have one friend who is now really close friends with her ex (who she had a very serious relationship with). I have another who decided to be friends, didn't take quite enough time to get over him, and ended up sleeping with the guy. It's an absolute mess right now. But yeah, honesty is the key. And if either of you still have feelings for the other, take some time off. Don't be afraid of sitting down and really getting into your own head. Trust your instincts, if there's something wrong, put the breaks on. Take care of your feelings and stay attuned to how he's feeling. Good luck (y) And let us know how it goes (if you feel comfortable with that). EDIT: I noticed some people are talking about different types of love. This is something I've really struggled with for a long time and really all I can say is make sure you know how you feel before you proceed. It's okay to still love him as a friend, but romantic feelings can get very messy very quickly.
  14. I know, right? I've always been super invested in lgbt+ activism, even when I thought I was straight. It's really heartening to see such a strong swing towards acceptance and respect. I'm pretty much cis myself (although I have very strong opinions about enforcing gender roles and gender really isn't a but deal to me), but I have a lot of trans/ non-binary friends. I love TDN forums so much, they're just so positive and welcoming.
  15. I'm such a huge fan of WTNV. I've bee listening to it for a couple of years now and I'm super obsessed. I know I like weird things, and I love the simple, narrative form of it. The same reason I love books. Everything is left up to the imagination and some things one can't even try to visualise internally. NV is great because just when you start to think 'oh yeah, I know that term. I know what that should look like'. It isn't. You think you know what librarian looks like? You don't. You think you know what a common garden moggy looks like? You really don't. It's just something different and cool. Also I really love cool, creative world building. It just gets better and better and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I listen to it at night when I can't sleep. Sends me right off :D
