Tomorrow, Friday the 13th, will the 21st anniversary for my fiance and I. I can't believe I've known this great guy for 21 years! Pardon my gushing, but I'm just that darn happy. Who in t his crazy world gets to the 21st anniversary these days? No, we're not married, but we've always counted the anniversary of the day we met.

Thanks for posting the link to that Tumblr page Hanso! (I can't believe she started working at Neopets when she was only 15!) I really love the front page banners she posted, especially the Firefly reference.
If I ever happen to stumble onto any of the artists' names, I'll definitely post them here.
Edit: I Googled "Neopets artists" and the 2nd result was this Reddit post, which actually has a list of artists (and it was only posted 10 ago). No idea how accurate it is, but I checked some of the names, and from what I've seen there's definitely some Neopets stuff in these artists's portfolio's, but for some artists I can't really find the Neopets connection. (I haven't spent a lot of time going through their work though, so I could've easily missed it.)

if you go to deviantart.com you'll find a lot if you search neopets! a lot of the google image results come from DA if you search for specific pets and stuff haha

I believe that trying for a scamander DOES count against your daily total on the money tree if you are able to grab him, even if he wriggles away.
 

Thank you! I use an art program called Medibang Paint on my iPad and draw using an Apple Pencil (a really expensive type of stylus).

I'm just going to use this one thread for all my art so I don't have to keep making new threads and clogging up the forums each time I make a new piece. SO, here is the piece I finished last night, a custom Zombie Aisha named Pure_Hatred69.
 

Thanks for starting this thread Hanso. I've always been curious too. A few brief Google searches ("Neopets art") over the years were flooded with amateur stuff (drawn mostly by kids). I wish I could add some names now but don't know any yet. I will be visiting this as it's updated. 

One of the main reasons I played and loved Neopets for so long was the art. In my opinion, the site is filled with tons of gorgeous and memorable artwork. I remember I always looked forward to pet days to see what new marquees they'd add to the frontpage because most of them looked so cool. I remember that when JN released their image emporium, I would look up random words just to see what would come up and if I could find artwork I hadn't seen before.
I also remember that I hated how there was no way to know who were the people behind the beautiful art on the site. I was so curious about that kind of stuff! I wanted to know who were these artists I admired so much, but there was nothing I could do to find out. I only recognised them by their artstyle, not by their names.
So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon one of these artists on Tumblr! Claire Hummel used to work for Neopets and was one of the main artists there. Apparently she got the job when she was 15? That's crazy!   Sometimes she posts her old art from working on the site on her blog. You should check out her Neopets tag to see some of the things she drew. I discovered she drew some of my favourite art pieces on Neo!
There's one specific post on her blog  that caught my attention, one where she redraws a couple of images from her early days at Neo:

So this got me thinking. Does any of you happen to know the names of some of the artists who worked at Neopets? If so, would you like to share what you know?

I wonder how the scamanders will fair this year, up against the people with super-fast connections on high-powered devices...I won't stand a chance on my basic broadband package with my nine year old laptop, but yeah, considering the general advances in technology, I'd think more people had a chance of catching one of the wriggly critters now.

In a couple days, the Money tree will have scamanders appearing--it's a once a year event.  The "Scamander-In-Chief" donates them throughout the day each October 12.
Every year I try catching them but they always wriggle away.  Does anyone know any tricks for hanging on to one?

I actually realized the problem probably was the fact I was searching for it with the site in brazillian portuguese ( my native language ) and somehow none pop up, but searching in english I got the same results as you! Thank you so much for checking for me!

in my experience, if you keep checking the trading post one will show up!  A while back I wanted a maraquan acara but there weren't any mps available, but I checked back later and someone had one listed!

Out of curiosity I looked just now. First I searched just for transmogrification, and quickly found several people selling Acara potions mixed in with others for sale. Then I searched for "Acara transmogrification" and found at least one more. It seems to be going for 10 Million. I wonder if you were just typing wrong?

Was in Value Village and spotted two gaming mags from 2004 with full page Neopet ads on the back! Bought them (they had YGO in and my daughter's into that too) and here are the covers,

Maybe you could have someone here contact the friend for you? Do any of your Neofriends belong on this forum? Basically someone could send a message to them, telling them to join this forum and directing them to this thread. Then you two could figure out further contact through PMs here.

For the record, TDN as in thedailyneopets.com is an approved fan-site that can be mentioned on Neo. But the forums as in tdnforums.com is not an approved site and cannot be mentioned on Neo. (That said, I've definitely talked about "TDN forums" on the boards before with no consequences. It's probably safe as long as you're not trying to use a direct link to the forums, but try it at your own risk.)

Thanks, we plan on using everything we can! She's only 6 so languages and such would be a bit complex for her right now. We are planning on teaching her music. She wants to learn the piano. In the school she was going to they don't have a proper music room or anything which is very disappointing.

My husband and i have made the decision to home school our oldest this year so I'm doing her school work most of the day. On my husbands days off he helps. This is our second week now and the first week was mostly getting everything set up. We're going into town today to get some more lesson materials for her. So far she's enjoying it and we've seen a lot of improvement.

To N.D.: do you know for sure they aren't already a member here or another Neo forum? Maybe you could search for their Neo username here to see. Then send PMs if they are here. I think TDN is an approved forum, so don't over worry about referring to it. I mention TDN in Neomails sometimes.
I'm guessing a moderator will reply when they see this and offer some suggestions. Or you could PM them yourself.

I'm not sure and I appreciate the offer, but I'm paranoid sending a message on my behalf would get you guys in trouble and I don't want that. I wish there was a loop hole so I could just get them my email somehow so they could just  message me there. Otherwise I literally won't be able to talk to them, unless I make several accounts to keep the most basic vague conversations not to get silenced again lol,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
