Why are the various areas of Neopia known as "worlds" and not "countries" or "lands"? Surely "worlds" would imply they are on planets of their own and not a physical part of a single one. If you look at Neopia, it looks like OUR world in that it has oceans and land masses.

I always wonder about those things too, but I guess it is possible that they have been on and off since 2004 because I started my account in 2008.  I liked playing all of the word type games, word poker, spell seeker, work pyramid, spell or starve, etc. you get the idea.  Anyway, for a couple of years I liked playing games and feeding my pets, then I had, well, um, a real life.  Luckily I guess I logged in enough here and there to keep my accounts from being purged.  However, if I hadn't, and I had to get a new account, I would have been able to get a trophy in those games the first day I opened my account.  So, when I look at newbie accounts with a lot of trophies, I try to give them the benefit of the doubt that even though their accounts are new, they are probably not really newbies.  However, that is a lot of trophies.

I made it in April this year, so it is reasonable up-to-date.

I just made a new pet so that I can zap her and Pound her. I did this so that people can get a painted pet with a good name.
However, when I created her, there was a whole thing where a message came up saying it was her birthday and to pick a birthday cupcake out of 3. There were balloons floating up the screen, too.

It first happened to me on the first birthday of my two Cybunnies. Only one Cybunny could get the cupcake though. That doesn't seem fair, does it?

lol wow that is actually pretty funny, but I do feel a little bad for you. I can not relate because I do not have a pet that can eat items haha

Haven't purchased yet, my total prize points and the prize points I have left to spend don't match up, so I'll probably send a ticket to TNT if it doesn't change in a day or so.
 
I'm actually a bit disheartened to see the make-up of the prize shop this year. Cool that the Stamp is cheap, but I'm eyeing that 2015 Altador Cup Collectible Gold Whistle... I have a sneaking suspicion that it MIGHT be a weapon. Or an instrument/toy. But I don't have anywhere near enough points to get it. I'm hoping that someone will be curious, and that a couple might appear on the TP at a reasonable price, that I could trade for to see. If the whistle isn't a weapon, well then that would just stink. lol Because it would make 2 years in a row without a really good weapon. AC IX and now possibly, AC X. Disappointing. :(

I zapped a skeith a while back and accidentally fed a petpet to her... Talk about guilt.

I got a two dubloon coin from Coltzan's Shrine and I accidentally fed the thing to my Skeith instead of putting it into my SDB! Gaaaah!
 
At least it wasn't my twenty coin from Anchor Management! o___o

I remember years ago (lots of years ago), when I was a teen hearing th e expression *If winning wasn't everything then we wouldn't keep score*.  It made me think of all the cheaters. Winning does give us an ego boost. It lets us shine in the light for just that one small moment but I would rather lose the game than have to cheat to win. Cheaters only fool themselves and if that is the only way that the light will shine on them for that brief moment... well I wouldn't want to go through life being them. I haven't always won or come in 2nd but I have always been able to hold my head high knowing I have done my best.

Its not fair, but it happens. It makes me angry but I just tell myself my team will lose and I just care about the prizes.

This is the biggest bummer.  I noticed that GhoulCatchers hadn't been working either for me for the last couple of days.  I wanted to play after being away from my pets for a week.  Hopefully it will come back up soon.  Seems like it's been offline for awhile though. :(

How on earth do you have the patience? I got to rank 1, just for the avatar, and then I was so relieved to be able to stop playing, lol. I suppose it must be easier if you're proficient at YYB, because then you can play a lot less games before ranking up(?)...all I played was SS(67 times). I honestly can't even imagine playing ANY of the games more than a thousand times, or even more than 100 times, gosh!

Aw, I'll not get past where I am now (Rank 5) I'm all ACed out, it would seem. Can't deal with playing the same game over and over again for very long :*

Please do NOT click on any links posted in the boards as they may take you somewhere with a virus or NSFW content.
There are some really horrible things in the boards, but I don't know if there is a point reporting them as there are way too many.
 
Hopefully JS will be able to get things sorted as soon as possible. Until then, be careful.

Well, I couldn't help myself...had to see what was going on. Yikes!! I've usually avoided the boards due to filter paranoia and it just not being worth the risk of saying something wrong, but complete lack of filters?? Hmm...I know jumpstart said they were going to focus on adult players, but c'mon now. Definitely some accounts are going to be frozen I'd think.

Ok..... so actually I haven't checked out the neoboards, and I have no intention of doing so. As it's been said, best to stay clear. Let TNT steamroller the people doing the explicit "stuff". You never know what could happen, especially if unofficial links are being posted. I also wonder when the monitors and filters cut out. I just had an idea, a conspiratorial theory, if maybe one of the TNT members that JS laid off changed the settings to mess with them? Frankly if that HYPOTHETICAL THEORY was the case, I'd understand them being ticked off, but it wouldn't excuse things that could scandalize people, especially the kids that play the site, though in honest opinion, they probably see/read/hear some of that more adult language and such in the regular net surfing, or on TV or at school. But that doesn't matter. It's TNT's site, their rules, and like going over to someone's place, you should follow and respect their rules. The major difference imho, is that to join Neopets, you SIGN an AGREEMENT, stating you'll follow the 'rules of the house'... as it were.
 
I hope the remaining TNT members, or the new JS members can get the forums under control soon! Then maybe they can work on the rest of the glitches? ;)

My question to JS is how long have the neoboards been without monitors? I think that is inexcusable. Over a decade ago we used to monitor ourselves, at least give some that ability if weekends are now monitorless.

At this time the best thing to do is stay off the neoboards and any/all pages that users can edit. Petpages are being edited with some explicit content as well. Best to just stick to your own stuff right now. Even out of curiosity I wouldn't even go to the neoboards and see the havoc. TNT will most likely be handing out punishments after this issue is fixed. No need to risk our accounts over simple curiosity. Be safe everyone! Also if your children use the site, I'd suggest you monitor them closely or not allow them to use the site until this has been resolved. :)

You'd think people would be grateful that they can finally write words like skill or amusement, but nope. The trolls are on the loose -_-
