I have a newborn baby so I've been missing out on Neo, anyway. I didn't get to say bye to my Habi critters. :( It feels kinda empty not being able to play at all.
 
But (!!) I've been taking some paid surveys that I've put off for a hot minute. $$

i just logged on to my account and went to my inventory only to find 2 marveolus pb's sitting there !! then i noticed the NM's from TNT about the 2 CC's i was competing in this week and last !!

After 13 years at the same school, I'm obviously super emotional. Most of my best friends are captains (Art and Design, Debating, Music, and School Captain) and they had such wonderful speeches. Two of the four I've known and been best friends with since Kindergarten. My other closest friends got IB dux, IB art prize, and one didn't get any prizes, but she's just put on a super successful musical co-working with one of the teachers and I'm just so so proud of everyone. It's surreal, and I just think of all the teachers who've had me this whole time, especially in the music department where I've basically lived my whole life.
 
A lot of stuff has happened in the past few years at my school. We were famous for our music department and even had a documentary made about us by a world-renowned film maker. But we got a new principal and the director of music had to leave. She was my mentor for so long and gave me opportunities I'd never have dreamed of. It took me a long time, but I've decided that I won't let these events taint my memories of my school. I'll (hopefully) be going to the most prestigious music conservatorium next year to study music education. Inspired by all the wonderful teachers I've had in my life, I hope to make a difference, even just the smallest one, to the life of a student. The old director of music is now at another school and I'll be going to teach there next year.
 
I'm so grateful for everything I've had and I'm so excited to see what I can do with the next stage of my life. I'm obviously terrified of growing up and terrible at adulting, but I'm just starting out. Anyone who expects me to get it right first time obviously knows nothing about human nature.
 
Sorry if this sounds all cliched and newsletter-y, I just needed to get that off my chest. I'm going through a lot at the moment with exam preparation and friendships, I thought it'd be nice to reflect a bit on all the emotional turmoil of today.

Since I imagine we are all going to be bored out of our minds, unless you have homework (man I miss homework - JUST KIDDING!), I have come up with a list of things you can do while the Neoapocolypse is upon us:
 
Finish that book you meant to start but never did. Find the matches to all your single socks. Post-it someone's car with positive messages Post-it someones car in general Do laundry/clean room or house Draw your neopets looking sad without you Pretend you are Dr Sloth and plot your neopian take over. Seranade someone with your best Scuttle impression Dress up your cats/dogs and take pictures like they are Neopets (Customization Spotlight!) :woot: Add to this list to see how many ideas we can come up with
 
What do you think, would you do any of these? I'd actually really like to see people dress up their animals - I used to do it as a kid to my dog. It was hilarious and my dog totally let me do it, she didn't care. I've never post-it someones car but I did crepe paper their bike. It was hilarious. The Slot plot thing was from the random contest. I did a couple drawings, made up a nice story but I don't think I'm going to submit it. Not quite the artist I'd like to be. :(
 
But let's get adding to this list, if they are good enough or do-able I might do some and post it!

i find myself wondering if today's the big day every time i log in too. I have been trying to bank as much as i can from my Habi before the switch. I'm trying to think of it, as a 'new beginning' instead of "the end of days." Although, there is that "end of days" vibe always lurking . :P

Is it just me, or do you hold your breath waiting for Neopets to load? Every day when I log-on, I wonder if this is the day. Is this the day that the down time starts? No warning, just that 404 Error message.
 
I've been on the site for so long that it feels like End of Days to me. Is anyone feeling this way about logging in?

It's sad that they're doing away with Habi. I had to log in just now. Although I raaaarely played, I don't want my 3 PPP to vanish whilst still active, so I'm gonna put them into their house to sleep. That way they will be comfortable when their world disappears.

I finally managed to hit level 50 last night :) the nice little NP boost is nice the last few days of the game. I really am curious about what type of gift we may receive though

Habi has been working for me all day (granted there was like a 3hour period where I wasn't on but it was still going on while I was gone. I came back to 10k worth of gems). I'm really having a bad day with neopets today. FC was a bust & I only got like 2k in dailies.... so my 60k that I've made today from Habi went straight into FC bets for tomorrow.
 
I'm terrified now that you guys are all "ITS HAPPENING!" because I noticed Habi's being absent from someone's profile today and I've run into the trades being cancelled as well. I did screenshot the other day (can't be too paranoid now can we?) but maybe I need to update them. I haven't done bank screenies for the day but let's hope that TNT is like "We will be shutting the website down at 5 PM NST" or something extremely specific. I've been trying to get in as much training on my cookies as possible. Not much else I can do about the lab ray or FQ ones. :/
 
Maybe someone should make a "Neopets Purge" board for us to all talk on when neo "goes dark"?

I've been on Habi today, It has been working all day for me. I FINALLY made it to level 33! Whew!

As someone who reads 50-75 books annually I love the convenience of my ereader, especially when I'm reading a series or a short novel I know I'm going to finish while I'm out of the house for the day - being able to just open or download the next book immediately is great.
 
Of course I still have a large collection of paper books filled with margin notes and dog-eared pages - there will always be book collectors out there (especially in a society as materialistic as the US), so there will always be books. But don't conflate a love of reading with a love of handling/collecting books.

Scary story ..... Poor woman. Did she get her stuff back afterwards?
 
Anyway, there seems to be more fans of paper books than ebooks here

To answer your initial question: no. I have never had such luck. Ever. Probably never will.
 
But I'm glad that you did though, I'll just share your happiness haha.
