I just got this today!!! I've been working on it for about a year, but I kept selling stocks as they went up in price so I never quite got to 1 million. But today I finally did it :)

Can I just say, I hope this is the entire scope Halloween event, dealing with the monster(s) from the contest? I was never really fond of the Masks of Dread events, and they never seemed sustainable long-term to me.

Sorry, I will get around to do the update today. This has to be done manually and takes about one hour of my time. Since I'm not paid to do TDN stuff... this is not always my top priority.

REALLY? They let in Neovians of all shapes and sizes and species, but one little monster and all of a sudden it's cheating? And is that actually written in the rules that monsters aren't allowed to compete? "We didn't say it was allowed" is different from "We said it wasn't allowed." So it wasn't in the rules (and if it had been, discrimination lawsuits, Lawyerbot!) but Scarlet should have just followed a rule that wasn't there? She knows how to follow directions--there was no direction.
 
I was rooting for Myrtle during the thing, but I'm cheering Scarlet on right now.

Nope- no one seems to have won anything at the conclusion of the eating contest, regardless of who they cheered for.

Also I'm pretty sure the facebook stuff only shows up on the 13+ accounts because of privacy considerations.

Basically, you can talk about information on the TDN Forums, but asking outright if someone has an account/attempting to communicate with them outside of Neo is a big no-no. Also, no linking to it. (it's not a certified fansite; tdnforums.com =/= thedailyneopets.com)
 
They make this so because you're not to attempt to contact certain Neopets players outside of Neopets for protection, because if they divulge that information, people will be able to track them down and communicate with them outside of Neopets. This can be dangerous since outside Neo, communication can't be monitored, who knows if you'll be discussing real-life information on the forums, etc.

However, the TDN forums are not a recommended fan site. They are separate from the main TDN site and should not be mentioned on Neopets.

I highly doubt they are going to retire cookies that are popular, as it's a steady income for the site.

Because he's busy being a super awesome rockstar (literally) and doesn't have as much time to play on Neopets anymore. He still takes good care us though :) *sends Ian bunnies*

They did contribute to the conversation, actually, just with the additional acknowledgement that everyone has different tastes, hence the "quoted words". Those words are, in essence, a diffuser- they help prevent what was said from being taken out of context, and as such help prevent a conversation from turning into a really silly argument.
 
There are some pet colors that are less detailed than others, yes, but I think a lot of the less detailed ones are were originally made pre-customization. While this isn't true for all pets, a significant number lost a lot of personality because of the standardized poses. And even the ones who didn't were effected by the artists having to get literally thousands of pet bits drawn in a very specific manner as quickly as they could. Since then, between the artists being more used to the specific format and having a lot more time to get a lot less done, pet colors have become more creative, more detailed, and each pet has been slowly becoming more unique within their color. Take Woodland, for example- each Woodland pet is unique within the color, without an overabundance of weird bits that stick out and get in the way of the customization overlays.
 
Also, in this era of Neopets, a conversation about colors is almost guaranteed to include talk about customization at some point just by the nature of the game. The clothes a color comes with, what the pet looks like without them, and how easy or hard it is to find reasonably priced wearables that look nice with said color all have an impact on that color's desirability and quality, and a color that looks bland on its own may be the perfect slate for an amazing customization. And unless I'm very much mistaken, one of the biggest reasons Disco and Cloud aren't overly popular is because they're hard to customize (Disco because of clashing colors, Cloud because of the irregular shapes that tend to overlap funny with various items), rather than because they're not detailed or well drawn.

I've always really loved the Christmas Pteris! They're so understated, but lovely! I always really liked when they looked like real animals (I used to have an account with a bunch of Lennies on them, because I loved how they looked like real birds!). XD It just goes to show how different peoples' tastes can be!
I'm surprised that Christmas Pteris aren't more common now, with such a lovely base as that for customizing. :)
 
And I think the Eyrie and Korbat are supposed to look like candy canes. :)

So many people talk about items that reference Princess Bride, Doctor Who, etc etc... I never seem to notice them! Can someone give me examples? (apart from the Monty Python's Shubberry, that's the only one I got so far xD)
