I think it's nice that people can get their dream pets that were so incredibly far off for the average player, or one that couldn't spend a lot of time on Neo. As for the UC exchanges, people are still taking Draiks for them. They're just a little bit pickier about color and name.
 
I understand how frustrating it would be to have to pay an extra 10 million NP only to see the price sink so much. What bugs me is when people complain on the boards about how they're not "special" anymore. I don't really believe in using pets as status symbols (or, oftentimes, the idea of "statuses" at all.)

I got my first Draik in September of 2010. I paid 12 million for the egg and I still agree that the deflating Draik prices, and Krawk prices, are great. I never liked Draiks due to them being rare, or thinking of them as a status symbol, so I think it's great to see more people being able to afford them. It's allowing people who might never have been able to get one before, to get their dream pets.

I think this year is gonna be my best neo year ever!!!!
 
A little over a week ago I got lent BGC, earlier Linsta showed me the awesome art she is working on for Gunnslinger, and now I got lent MSPP!

I've dressed my main pets up for Valentine's Day, but my favorite is Aitvara's, so I'll share that here.

I stumbled across this method of getting Gourmet Club Bowls to load without the playback error. So far, I and others have only used it in the Chrome browser. If you attempt it with another browser and it works, please let everyone know!
 
Step 1: Load Hannah and the Pirate Caves. Click to play and let the game load.
 
Step 2: WHILE HatPC is still open, bring up the Gourmet Club Bowls. Remember to keep the Hannah game up while you're doing this.
 
Step 3: Click to play GCB. (Hannah is still open)
 
Here's where you have to play around with it a bit. I've had Club Bowls load the first time using this method. Other times, the error message pops up. If it does, click ok then reload the GCB pop-up play screen. RELOAD. DO NOT EXIT AND CLICK TO PLAY AGAIN. Repeat until the game loads. The most tries it took me was 4 the first time. Other times, it has worked the first try, or second try, but it can also take a few more tries. I'd say give it 10 tries, a few more if you're patient enough. From the people who have tried it in Chrome, we have been able to access the game. (Remember to have your shockwave player up to date as well).
 
Once the GCB game has loaded, you can then close Hannah, but will have to re-open her if you wish to re-load the GCB play screen. I haven't tested it with other shockwave games, only Hannah and only in Chrome. If you find other combinations or browsers that work, please reply and let people know.

I highly doubt they'll pop up back in price :) I manage to buy them for about 37k now - since the Forgotten Shore keeps spitting them out, and they're not that highly sought after due to their low drop rate, they're bound to drop in price, so I'd sell it now while you can. :)

Neopets totally consumes my life, too, but you gotta keep up with school... I don't know how to advise you, because I have the same problem and never really dealt with it XD

Mutant and Maraquan pets have non-standard poses because they have non-standard appendages for their species. 8-bit pets have non-standard poses because the entire point of being 8-bit is to be flat, viewed from one side on the screen. Baby, while we're on the topic of non-standard, has this issue due to size. And even then, all 4 of these species have poses as close to the standard as TNT could manage while taking into consideration that they're drastically different from a pet with a more basic color.
 
As for your list of pets: Yes, the old poses are more menacing/cuter/cooler. But a lot of the art is also horribly outdated. Those colors would have been due for an art update regardless of customization. They had just redone the art for the entire Jubjub species when they finished all of the current poses and went live with them. Bit of a waste of time for the people drawing the Jubjubs, really, but the fact remains that the art was going to be updated in one way or another at some point. That's just how things work.
 
Yes, those colors got hit pretty hard when it came to the update, but that was less because TNT decided to attack those specific pets, and more because those pets no longer matched the art style of the site and current pets. They decided that customization was the way to go (and I haven't heard complaints about it since it went live, so I think most people enjoy it), and the art and pet poses had to be updated to make it possible. Things were lost (like unique poses and emotions), and things were gained (the ability to make your pet 100% unique, numerous items gaining an actual use). That's just the way things work.
 
Also, TNT is very firm on the fact that they are not going to make UC Neopets avalible again. A few Editorial responses on the topic:

Yeah it is so don't worry. Only the Cloud, Patch, and Fire Machines are retired. :) Depending on where you live go shovel some drive ways or mowe (sp?) a lawn for some money ^^ lol I had to d othat for a bit when I was really addicted to NC. Lol. Good luck to you though.
