Weird Notice at bank

Doing my dailies and noticed this weird text under the deposit side of the bank. I saw it yesterday too, Not sure how long it's been there or if it's only me that can see it...

Everyone has that message. It's just to inform the extreme rich Neopians what the limit is and what happens if they deposit more.

Is this a recent issue that's cropped up, or has the site always had a limit on how much can be donated at once?

It's a limit on the total amount of np you can have in the bank (ie. 2 billion+ neopoints) rather than deposits.

I read somewhere it's because of a limitation of how numbers are stored in the databases and that it's always been this way.  I guess some players are actually hitting this limit now so the warning was made public.
