Why is Brightvale doing so well?

I mean, not to bring down another team but I wonder. On every site I read that they're middle to lower tier contenders. Then why are they winning with such big numbers so far this year?

People are saying bots, and I may have to agree with this. TNT already took care of Maraqua and Kreludor, so time will tell if Brightvale also gets the "quarantine".

 

This also has nothing to do with the fact that Krawk Island has to face off against Maraqua. Totally nothing to do with it.

Cheaters? That's...really stupid. Hopefully they'll do something about it because I'm not working my butt off for Krawk Island to lose to them!

Well if they are cheating, hopefully they will be punished. Why would people cheat just for a better trophy? It kind of loses its accomplishment when you cheat to get there.

I haven't been keeping up with any of this.  Been working, playing AC, and sleeping.  Haven't been around here or the neoboards.  What is going on with Kreludor?  I am busting my butt for them.  I always seem to pick the crappy team.  LOL.  Last year I picked HW and they came in dead last.  So I went with another team this year.  Did TNT catch them cheating?  Or was it Maraqua?  I wouldn't doubt if there are cheaters on every team.

Yeah, that goes without saying, doesn't it. It would be interesting to know if JS are able to spot all individual cheaters, or whether it's the big teams that they're aiming for.

Just because SOME cheaters apparently chose Maraqua this year deesn't mean ALL of us who chose Maraqua are cheaters. Just wanted to point that out.

 

If Brightvale has cheaters in it too, I EXPECT TNT to give them the same kind of punishment they handed Maraqua. If they don't, there may be mass quittings of Neopets, and that would be a shame. Equal punishments for equal 'crimes'.

 

As far as WHY. There could be a number of answers for that. Better Trophies is possible, but I tend to think, it's more prize points so they can buy a ton of prizes and jack up the price for those items in the Neopian marketplace. Then there's always the 'Just to see if they could do it and get away with it.' possibility too.

 

But regardless of their reasons and everything, it ruins the fun for everyone else. :(

Aqua,  ABSOLUTELY!!  I KNOW you don't cheat, as well as many on your team.  You have been on Maraqua forever, yours just happens to be the team, or one of the teams I guess, they chose this year.  Just like with Kiko lake last year.  I feel bad for the legit players.  Kiko didn't have any repercussions last year, but I am sure JS heard all about it.  So they are handing it to the WHOLE team this year, and that isn't right either.  If they know FOR SURE cheating is going on, they need to deal specifically with the cheaters.  I didn't see huge scores for MQ or KD like I saw with KL last year or BV this year, so I am not sure what it is that makes them think MQ and/or KD was cheating.  The scores seemed pretty normal until we fell into a slump.  That brings me to my sista Beth......

I am not that good with computers either.  Not when it comes to doing the things that some people do.  But you have people that eat, sleep, and breathe computer programming.  They know to manipulate computer coding to their own benefit.  I have tried to understand it, not cheating, lol, computer programming, but it is a language unto itself, and it is foreign to me.  Look at the coding that goes into a user look up.  And as far as I know (which I don't) it is rather simple compared to most programming.  So, you and I will just have to stick with helping out the needy people and leave the computer programming to the, well, er, um, computer geeks.  We (You, me, and Aquamentis) will continue to bust our butts, one rank at a time, one boring game at a time, for our team, regardless of the cheating.  Go Kreludor!!!!  Go Maraqua!!!!

Thank rntracy1. I'm just tired of seeing stuff about Maraqua cheating with no exceptions for us who are legit Maraqua fans. Nobody could know where the cheaters would go since it seems to change year after year. Even, so I actually felt the need to apologize to my guild friends, because they decided to join Maraqua with me this year. If I weren't a Maraqua fan and had mentioned I was going to join Maraqua again, they could've joined other teams that the cheaters might have not joined. For me, that's the real rub. My friends being penalized when none of them are cheaters either. :( I feel responsible for them being on a penalized team. I know I'm not to blame and stuff, but given how things turned out... :(

There are only about half a dozen of us left anyway since we were just a group on the neoboards many years ago. Though I think at one time we had at least 2 dozen active members.

 

Coding is called a "language" there are a few different languages for coding as well. Different from web-coding. You've Basic, C++, and whatever the heck else is out there. I used to know a bit more, but I guess I've forgotten what the program coding languages are. lol

But yeah as far as the cheaters go, I've heard rumors of automated stuff, multi-score senders, etc. I have no idea how they work, nor how they can interact with flash games like the games for the AC are. I believe TNT was talking about those when describing the "symptoms" not just the use of multi-accounts.

 

Anyway, yeah, I'm holding out too much hope of reaching All-Star this year. I'm just really busy this June, so I haven't gotten nearly as far as I thought I would be by now. But I DO try to get games of YYB in when I can. ;) I'm not ready to call it quits yet, not until the trophies are handed out! :)

No one assumes every player of a land that's stuck with the cheaters is cheating. :) But it's just easier to say a land is cheating, than adding that there are (obviously) a ton of legit players as well. That kinda goes without saying, as this happens (to a different land) every year. It sucks, but at least TNT is doing something about it this year, which is a huge improvement.

 

As for Brightvale, perhaps they've got an ASG (All Star Group - I think) instead of ACG (All Cheater Group). The difference being that ACGs use multiple accounts and bots to cheat the game, and ASGs are just a bunch of players who always reach All Star, who choose a different team to join each year. They're not actually cheating, but they are influencing the scores a lot.

Sorry it took a bit to respond, busy weekend.  LOL.  I know EXACTLY how you feel as I got my friends tk421beth and scoobert to join Kreludor with me too.  I feel bad about that too, and unlike you, KD is not my team.  You are a faithful Maraquan.  I chose Kreludor based off of a few variables.  Their history, their stats, their colors (lol) and the likelihood that they wouldn't come in dead last like HW, the team I chose the year before.  Scoobert and I did so well as partners in the DD that we thought we would make a great team again in the AC.  But like you said, you never know which team will be chosen so it isn't anyone's fault.  It's just hard to not feel guilty.  MQ is doing well in the new bracket, wish I could say the same for KD. 

I am sure Kiko Lake felt the same way last year about being called cheaters.  There are obviously legit players on every team, but Kiko Lake was being slammed hard last year.  Everyone was so mad.  The problem this year, I am not so sure TNT/JS is handling it right.  Keeping MQ and KD at the bottom of the pack because there are cheaters isn't the way to handle it either.  IDK what is the right way to handle it, but I don't think they way they are is it.

 

Good luck reaching All-Star.  I will be happy if I can do better than I did last year.  LOL.  Here's to hoping :rock:
