Hahahaha, well at least it's not just me. Thanks for brainstorming ideas everyone! I've never had premium so it's not scratchcards in this case, but it probably is ghost bobbleheads. Way to go TNT, now my inventory is haunted >_< I didn't even know that was possible. I went  to the broken toy shop just now and it doesn't show any phantom items, but I feel like mine has been messed up since around AC time as well and I did win the staff tourney bobbleheads 3 out of the 4 weeks, so that's probably it.

It is pretty funny, in a "oh TNT what have you done now" kind of a way  Is it Binary_supagoo you're referring to here? Just found out yesterday that he is the reason the new Rubbish Dump avatar is glitched, it seems fitting to know that he is also haunting my inventory. That guy is causing all kinds of headaches lol.

So for as long as I can remember, your inventory was considered "full" at 50 items. Obviously you could have more than 50 if you were collecting from dailies or unloading from your shop or SDB, but if you had 50 or more, you can't buy anything from other shops and you get this guy:

Sorry, you can only carry a maximum of 50 items at one time!

He still says 50, but now I get this message when my inventory has 45 items in it. It's not like it makes a huge difference, it's just weird. I noticed this a while ago but just now thought to post about it. Anyone else ever encountered this?

Had held off on this one for a while because the avvie guide estimated 180,000 Np for the cost of the item...

Just looked it up and they're on the shop wiz for <10k. Don't know if the price has just recently gone down but if you're in the same boat I was, go shopping!

I too am amazed at that kind of price tag. I looked up your dream sword and apparently it's a prize from a rare item code from TCG sets, which I guess helps to explain how rare it is, but still. That's just crazy. Do they even still sell these things any more?

Very nicely done! I work in a bakery and we don't do that style of frosting, so I've tried to teach myself in my spare time so I can do fancy cakes for friends parties and weddings and such, and it's quite the challenge. Good job!

I was concerned about the same thing but a friend directed me to the JellyNeo guide for the portal event, which features a quote from hardtotame from the boards:

Reusing the portal will cure your pet of any illness it contracted through the event, but all other changes will remain until the end of the event (unless you get lucky and get the effect that restores your pet to its original condition). When your pet's state is restored at the end of the event, any stat changes that happened outside the event will be factored in.

So it sounds like they did take into account that people would still be receiving stat changes from other site events or training, and those should be accounted for when the event ends. Also just noticed when I reread this, but if the portal makes your pet sick, it looks like taking the next portal will cure it! Good to know as I really don't want to spend the money on cures every time!

My dad makes this amazing fish chowder... he's an avid fisherman, so it's always fish that he has caught himself. It's best of course when you can clean it by the lake and fry it right up, but when we were younger and we'd catch a lot he'd take some home and freeze it and then in the winter time he'd cook up the fish in this incredible soup/chowder, with potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, cream of mushroom soup. The ingredients were simple but he had it down to a science. It was a recipe he'd gotten from his dad that they used to fix at the lake when my dad and all his brothers and cousins and uncles and everyone used to meet at a fishing camp every summer and spend a week at the lake. I've tried to duplicate it, but I can't get it quite the same as his.

Woohoo! Now I can actually start selling some again :)

Thats good that there is at least a limit. I'll admit I didn't know, but then I've also never abandoned a pet before. Obviously using that feature is not a bad thing in all cases, but it boggles my mind that people go to the trouble of doing all that just for the cupcakes and things. It's just a game in the end, what's the point really? It just frustrates me, like when people cheat at the AC.

Update: The solution for this avatar is to deposit any amount of Neopoints into your bank accounton your active Neopet's birthday. You can create a new Neopet to qualify for this if your current Neopets are not the right age. You can no longer seem to create a new Neopet to satisfy the requirements for this avatar. The Neopet must be at least 1 year old.
 

That didn't take long, did it? I figured that was going to happen when the pound filled up with 4-minute-old pets

Mine has really been mixed... out of 8 I have three that are no effect, 2 decreases in stats, and 3 paint jobs... but they are all speckled. SPECKLED. It's not a bad color I guess and I'm sure it's some people's favorite (no judgement if it happens to be yours) but my Draik is normally FAERIE and now he looks like he has sad mutant measles or something. Thank goodness he'll go back to normal when this is over!

I checked the info icon the the Trudy's Surprise spinner and apparently she's always been an Ixi, but I didn't know what species she was before I got the evil face cream today either.

Trudy & Tarla? With names like that they could be twins, it certainly fits. Although... you'd think if one was the evil twin it would be the one who charges 1500+ NP and then sells me the same frozen dinner from her mystery shop Every. Single. Time.

@jellysundae I tried to like your hammy pic but apparently I have liked too many things today. I didn't even know that was a thing, lol. Super cute hammy though. I had a guinea pig when I was in high school that used to hide inside a plastic igloo in his habitat, never quite realizing that it had a huge hole in the top. He was fooling no one, but I let him keep up the illusion.

Although, am I the only one who fears a rash of people creating and using new pets for obtaining the avatar, then pounding them immediately? I wouldn't do that, as I'm attached to all my pets and I don't even have a free slot, but I'll have to wait at least until March to get this avvie, and I see a lot of people wanting it right this minute and just acting like jerks.

I have the yearlong interest perk from charity corner that ups your interest, and that didn't have any effect today. I'm sure you're right, I doubt it would be reliant on stacking with one of the boons/perks since those come from other things that also award avatars.

Going to mess around with it a bit more, but I'm just glad TNT is making good on releasing some new avatars for people to figure out. At least three in the last two weeks or so, right? The Rubbish Dump, the new Trudy avatar, and now this one. Beats them only putting out stamp page avatars that require all the stamps i'll never be able to afford!

Heh,  my mind spends a fair bit of time there anyway, it's not so bad a place to visit, really. 

That said,  I seem to have a natural talent for inadvertently using words and phrases that have an entirely different meaning in other cultures' slang. Once asked a really cute dude sitting at the counter at the cafe where I work if he wanted a "warm up" (he was drinking coffee and I had just poured myself a cup and was still holding the coffee pot) and he turned BRIGHT RED and his buddy started laughing at him. Apparently the dude was from Australia or New Zealand, can't recall now, but apparently "warm up" has a very dirty slang meaning over there. I never did get the whole story, he was  so embarrassed that I felt bad and quickly went back to the bakery where I belonged

I've been playing it for about six months since I started seriously collecting avatars. I can wobble those coconuts all day long, but I haven't even knocked one down yet. I only know that they can explode because it's in the avvie description lol

I didn't finish it either. It was one of the first major site events I encountered after starting to play Neopets in college, and I remember wanting so badly to complete each and every step, and then basically dying in the 1000 door tomb.

So I did the math on my items, filled up my inventory with stuff last night, refreshed at least 20x, no avatar...

Tried again this morning, no avatar...

I came back to it later, refreshed at least 20x, no avatar...

Sat down just now, refreshed several times and figured "well I better go on and do my dailies before I forget"

Clicked inventory after i finished in the battledome to look at my loot for today... BOOM. AVATAR.

This also has a familiar ring to me, but yes it was many, MANY moons ago. I feel like you're right, there was a shortcut to figuring out a plot step if you looked at the page code. I think maybe it had to do with a Desert plot where there was a temple or tomb or something that had 1000 doors, and the right one was random for each user? This was back when I was in college, mind you, so I was much younger and far more likely to be intoxicated back then, so my long-ago Neo memories are not always the most accurate

And um, nope, even if I hadn't had to go in to work I don't think I would have waded into the NeoBoards to check out the theories... amusing as that can be sometimes, I have found that I usually don't have the patience for the regular boards on the day that events and things start. I much prefer it here... snarky and creative, but not insane  

I've got them too. I started tracking them as I was doing dailies and I've found 13 so far. Some are round and some are ovals. They all link to the new Brightvale map and I'm assuming it's some sort of a mini game, but I wonder if it's not fully active yet? The little Kacheek on the Brightvale map page who apparently "cast a spell" that caused the portals says one of three things every time I follow a portal back to him. Since the conversation is not progressive, I'm thinking maybe the game isn't live yet but the portals are out there to get people interested. (Or JS accidentally released only part of the game, lol)

OR.... maybe there are a certain number and you have to find them all to trigger the game start? Hmmmmmmm....

Note to other avvie seekers... this is one where you can kill two birds with one stone... you have to use a transmog potion anyway to get the first avatar, and the kacheek transmog is one of the cheaper ones out there, so it can set you up for the beach avvie as well.

Ditto! I came late to the obelisk war avatar hunt and I still need all but 2 of them (I have no manner of luck at all when it comes to this) but the Thieves seem to be carrying it so far, maybe I can finally check off another one!
