Part of me feels guilty - I was SO angry about the Captchas being added in, I quit playing.

Yes, ma'am, that's precisely right.  It's possible to create a new pet as well, if you so wish, to paint it for somebody as well.  It just can't be a pet they've previously owned.

You may not, unfortunately, take another person's pet that they already own and use your dip on it.  Additionally, any time you transfer a pet, another person is not technically permitted to reimburse any transfer costs.

What you can do is offer a pet UFA + FFQ - whether a pet in the pound, one of your pets, or an untaken name, then transfer it to a user.  You can also trade a FFQ for another pet if there are any that you want that can't be obtained from FFQ, same rules apply - a pet in the pound, one of your own pets, or an untaken name.

My computers are slightly outdated, so low res is a must for me, too. :c

Now that I've actually played to All-Star and feel compelled not to miss it again, I'd be glad if AC were just henceforth cancelled.

I know that's unlikely and would be an actual major bummer site-wide, but personally not a fan of the tourney.

I can say that I chose the bank boon just to see where I stand with that.

You're allowed to transfer the dipped pet to them.  Some people will also create a pet with another person's chosen name, dip, and transfer.

You may not have them transfer to you, dip, and transfer back.

If you'll be replaying levels, I recommend level 2.  Guaranteed 3 stars every time, and it doesn't have a tutorial/guide slowing the level down.

Neopets is so hard to quit!  I haven't ever actively tried to quit, but every time something draws me away for a hiatus, I end up back with a vengeance.  Best of luck with responsibility!  :)  Hopefully you won't miss Neo too terribly.
