This is really a personal choice. I don't like using pets that I lab to hand train because I just get frustrated every time the stats go down. Although it is good for endurance I don't want the down to level 1 zap or anything like that. So I have one pet that I hand train and 3 that I lab exclusively. Also keep in mind that if you want a level pet the lab ray tends to get your HP way higher (as it doesn't decrease this stat) then any other stat and it can be expensive to get the other two back where they need to be. So each can be twice your level so if your level is 22 then your other stats should be 44 anything above that and you need to train level before you can train anything else.

It's never a good bet to use the lab ray if you want to raise your pet's stats, since it can actually lower them as well. Whether you want to rely on random events/Coltzan's whims/ etc. or use the training school is up to how controlled you want your pet's leveling to be and how much you feel comfortable spending on training.

I just started using the battledome on a consistent basis and I was wondering if/when it is worth it to train my battledome pet in level or if it is better to leave levelling up to Coltzan, the lab ray, etc. My pet is currently level 22

My guess is your internet connection hiccoughed and that's why you were kicked from the game. It's unfortunate as you were so close to finishing.
I wouldn't worry about being frozen or anything. Also the other person should not have neomailed you with a message like that. It could be considered as harassment.
 
Key Quest is just one of those games that in my opinion people take way too seriously. I've been quit on several times, I'll grump for a minute and then just restart a game. I don't go around neomailing people accusing them of quitting. It just seems like a waste of time to me. What I do tend to do is take note of who I'm playing against and if for some reason I have to leave a game, then I can neomail them explaining that the phone rang or my daughter needed my urgent attention or whatever. :)
 
I wouldn't worry too much about being frozen and you did take a screenshot so you really don't have anything to worry about. If you like you can play with people from our forums. :) Our Key Quest board is here.

Old thread but I recently painted my kougra and I think she looks pretty good with the blues and silvers. The BG is a NP item - Malicious Dark Faeries Background. Your peophins are both lovely!

i was gifted a maractite pb and i used it on peophus ... now i need customization ideas ... no NC please :)
 

I agree, Maractites are best with whites and golds - think contrasting colours to blue. Consider cross painting with Royal or Lost Desert :)

Well at least you are pondering so that you don't make a hasty decision that you'll regret later (i.e. me!!). There's no rush (unless you do get another FFQ like Nimphal suggested) so just think about what you would really like to do.
 
I made a hasty decision with my first FFQ (yes, I've been fortunate enough to have had two and she wanted cheap items to boot) and I have a little bit of regret. However the person who now owns that pet is VERY happy with him so it all worked out in the end.

Well, you could always complete it and let it keep the fountain open for you for when you do want to use it. So long as you don't get another FFQ (although with the luck you've been having, who knows :P) the faerie will happily wait for you for as long as you want.

You'd think they'd be too busy with all of the other stuff going on within the site to worry about spaghetti and meatballs and the letter h.....

I honestly don't care for either.
Krawks often have a mean look to them, although I have seen some very well customized samples. As for Draiks, I don't know, there's nothing about them that makes me want to have one.

I actually think it's the whole status-thing that throws me off. You should get a pet that really spikes your interest, not just because it's rare or hard to come by.
Not in a million years would I trade one of my pets for a Krawk or Draik.

I battle for the prizes I get a lot of NP that way, being premium helps because I can battle Giant space fungus and he throws out a nerkmid around once a day and also other high value prizes
 
It took a lot of training to get there and must have cost millions in training so now Im getting some of it back in prizes I suppose.
 
I started training after I realised I needed to be stronger in the war, now I am pretty much high enough to beat anything they throw at me or at least hold my own.

Your yurble is adorable. I know what you're saying about the mane too. The lab zapped my pet into a yurble and all of the wigs look weird on her so now she's just wearing a cap.
 
I really like the skunk hissi and I'm not a hissi fan. I like that the black part looks black. I painted my lupe with a skunk pb the other day and her black portion looks washed out or like a charcoal grey. I painted her that color to look like my dog (see avatar - where she looks ridiculous) and it's a little disappointing but meh - it's okay.

I'm loving the Skunk Hissi! It looks so rad.

I don't really think of Plumbeard either. lol Except he owes me a Zed Codestone, him and Tekkitu, they're evil I tell ya! You try to be nice, only beat them up a little bit, and what do they give? Mostly junk. lol But every now and then something decent. I just want the Zeds they owe me. ;) Maybe it's just the opponents in the Island arena so far.... Or maybe they fed the Zeds to the volcano god? lol
 
Thanks! The customization interface runs kind of slow for me so I don't change my pet's clothes very often. He's been a very good peophin, and is now about double the stats he had during the Obelisk War. Can't wait to try him out in the next war/battle plot! :D I've worked on his training a LOT in the last year or so. The only real downside for training/battling with a peophin is that they tend to be weak against Fire. Or at least that was the Old BD. But, it would be JUST LIKE TNT to bring back the species weaknesses and resistances. They're also evil. ;) lol
 
Lastly, Congrats on getting the awesome codestones in a single day! :D Gotta love it when something like that happens. LOL

I was just thinking that Zephyr!! My daughter absolutely loves Rio!!!
That Faerie Lenny is perfect and reminds me so much of the opening scene in Rio with all the different birds singing and dancing in flight.

You're peophin is extremely strong though and really pretty! I usually don't like eventide however with your custom, she looks great!
 
So after me coming here to sort of complain about my dry spell and woah-is-me-why-do-I-bother attitude, what does the BD do? It rewards me with not 1, not 2, not even 3 but 5 red codestones and 3 brown cs for battling the koi warrior today. Maybe I needed to vent to get the system on my side again? Anyway, I know today was very unusual but I guess the lesson for me is patience, grasshopper.

Maybe the S750 Kreludan Defender Robot? I think I battled him once but don't remember it. I'll have to give it a try though.
 
Well I appreciate all of your input and it is encouraging. eventually I'd like to try the site events but I feel that would come way on down the line since my pet isn't near ready for that.
 
 
 
He beats the JA within two rounds and no, he doesn't have to heal. When you say it like that ( If you are getting one codestone (worth 2,500 or more) within two minutes, then you are already doing better than you would get on most games), that kind of puts it into perspective. I also didn't know that the old BD did not give you any prizes for daily battling. Wow - I guess that there is one thing that people like about the new BD! lol... Hopefully I'm just going through a slump and they haven't decided to make it more difficult to get worthwhile prizes. My habi runs in the background almost all day now!
 
Lol... so true! Someone said to me the other day "oh - you have a power pet." And I thought - yeah, yeah, that's right - I do! :laughingsmiley:
