It might still work but it is true. Both the classic as the neohomes 2.0 will be replaced. I'm not sure if they will convert the items so they'll be usable in the new version or not.

Hi and welcome to the forums! Glad you decided to join us from out of the shadows. It sure is a year with a lot of changes! 2020 just likes to confuse us, even on neopets!

We're in lockdown and all my family lives abroad. So even if I didn't have to work I couldn't celebrate the holidays with them or anyone. I've also had to switch teams at work for the holidays (I don't really like or know these colleagues very well)... Normally spending the holidays at work would have made it a bit better but this year I'll probably be just bored. Let's just hope for a better year next year. I'm really not looking forward to this years holidays.

The site theme will automatically be active on Halloween but to actually use it year round you have to make sure you refresh the site at 11:59pm NST on October 31st and make sure you get the notification that you unlocked the site theme. If you did this and it all seemed fine, double check your list of site themes, it might not be the last one in the list. You can also right click and check the page source of your preferences and just search for "Haunted Woods" using ctrl+f . If you can't find it that way it means you didn't actually unlock it unfortunately.

It's allowed to use the lab ray on more than one account as long as you bought the lab map pieces on your main account and transferred them to your side. It's just the cookies that are only allowed on one account.

The prize shops are open until next year most of the times and for most events so that wouldn't be a surprise to me.

I'm using duolingo too to learn Japanese. Once you get the hang out of reading the hiragana and katakana it's not that bad to learn it. The Kanji is a different story. I'm trying to learn Japanese for multiple reasons: 1. I would like to visit Japan one day, and not the touristic cities but travel through the countryside. 2. I want to be able to understand Japanese spoken anime without needing subs and to be able to read the little jokes/details that are sometimes hidden in the scenes. I already speak Dutch, English and, if I brush up on it a bit, French. German is a different story, I can somewhat read enough to understand the basics and if they speak slowly enough I can understand it too, but I can not write or speak it myself. I never had any German at school. Maybe, in the far future, when I can speak Japanese well enough I might try and learn German too with Duolingo. I just don't want to confuse my brain now with 2 languages, learning them is hard for me too. I have a science brain, not a language brain

Item prices always go down as more of them flood the market. Buying them in the beginning of an event is never really smart, even if the amount of points it cost to get one had stayed the same. As for the points needed to buy from the prize shop, they said they will return the difference. Give them some time to sort that all out. And maybe in the future wait with getting things from the shop until the end of the event? The Sticky Snowball situation is annoying for sure but I can't really blame them as it was obviously being abused. You can't say the event hadn't changed in years as it basically did every year. They kept on changing things and tweaking things over the years. In the beginning (I didn't participate back then) I heard you received a random item in the same rarity as items donated, plus you were only allowed to donate in a specific category. A few years ago (I believe 2 years) they switched it up again and went to donate whatever and get perks. The perks gave coding headaches so to focus on transferring away from flash they decided to go with items this year. Maybe, when the conversion is done, they'll have time again to look more closely to the perk coding and go back to those as rewards. And they don't always need to give us reasons why they do things the way they do it. Sure communication is important but I'm pretty sure they do think about things and don't just change things up without a reason. Change is always annoying, not just for players but also for them (coders). I'm glad they did give us some information about the why but in my opinion it's not a mandatory thing they NEED to do. The bugs that are happening now are annoying but I'm sure they will be fixed and they're probably caused by the changes made mid-event. I'm not going to say anything about the capsules as I'm not interested in those anyway so I have no clue what's wrong with them. I've heard the chance of getting something nice is way too low and if they're non trade-able I can see that can be really annoying. Maybe they'll change that too? Who knows, I hope so for all the people that do like items from the capsules.

They'll never allow that. You have to pick one account as main account. The side accounts can't do anything that earns neopoints, like FC.

You might have been frozen not because of what he typed but because you had a shop on your side account. Shops are a way of making neopoints and thus it's not allowed to sell stuff on your side account. So, make sure your side account shops are empty if you have one (for example due to switching main account).
