Same here, for some reason even though I had my laptop up with the contrast as low as it would go (the screen was basically black) my Habi didn't collect like I wanted it to. Bummed.
 
See? This is exactly who I was talking about, besides myself, where Habi evened the playing field just a tiny bit.
 
Just so you know, sometimes reading a guide isn't helpful. The problem is that not everyone can even make 15k in a day doing dailies or playing games so how can one buy stocks every day if they don't even make 15k? Getting it through other games takes SO LONG and a lot of people don't have that kind of time nor do they want to expend the energy. Not to mention that stocks take FOREVER to go up even the slightest bit some times and it'll be rare that any of us see another VTPS or whatever and even have enough of it to be like some of the lucky 10k shareholders. In fact I'm probably going to stop buying stocks unless one of my dailies is really nice to me.
 
Food Club is awesome, if you can figure out your own betting system or even if you can't you can copy someone else's bets. I copy Hugo's and in the few short weeks I've been doing it, it's been fairly nice to me but I still end up with -60k down the drain in bets.
 
Habi saved those dents to my bank caused buy daily stock purchases, codestones and negative FC days. With that little safety net gone, my meesley millions are going to be thousands. Maybe I'll take another hiatus and see if when I come back there is something awesome in its place. Thats basically what happened to Habi to begin with.

No reason to be so worried.
They're just switch servers, I'm sure it will all be fine.
 
Missuninvited - Stocks are one of the easiest things on Neopets. Buy 1000 shares at 15 Neopoints. (If you can't then go with 16.) Then, sell them when the percentage is at least 100%. Never sell when it is negative.

Make sure you do your dailies, and try playing Key Quest! I make most of my Neopoinst through a combination of stocks, dailies and Key Quest.

I've been habi-ing for nonstop for DAYS to make as much as I can before it's gone, and then last night my computer decides to "install updates" and restart without telling me so I missed out on an entire night ;-;

I get how it'll be beneficial, but it still makes me frustrated because I'm just not good at the games or reselling or stocks or any of that. I'm terrible. This was about the only way I found that I could make decent money to catch up to the people with multi-millions.

i'm so sad about losing habitarium. i've stopped restocking recently because i've been focusing on other things than refreshing a shop for hours a day, and habi was my main source of income. yes, it's a less active way of earning neopoints, but 100k over 24 hours didn't seem too unreasonable compared to making 100k by doing nothing else but refreshing for four hours. for me, it was just the residual daily income that helped me offset the occasional spending and still allowed me to reach my np goals. i'm looking forward to seeing something replace it, but in the meantime, i might go back to restocking or try finding people to KQ with despite the inconvenience of having to play a multi-player game.

Just remember to remove the eggs and THEN discard - deleting straight from your inventory won't gain you any XP!

You know, what the heck. I might as well open it and see; it's not like I paid for it or anything.

From the way they said it, it'll just happen when it happens. Later this week or early next, so probably not a good idea to pop any fortune cookie until the move is over. They say you'll be compensated but...I tend not to have too much faith in those sorts of words.

I'll be intrigued to see what happens to the prices of items without Habi. If the majority of the Neo-population loses their main source of income and don't have the time/skill to earn equivalent amounts through other means, expensive items probably won't be selling as quickly anymore. Will paintbrushes (or whatever) start dropping in price?

I will fondly remember the giant egg glitch.

I am super bummed about losing Habitarium. It provides a fairly significant portion of my Neo-Income....one that I do not see being able to recoup elsewhere in Neopia.
 
I'm glad for the forward movement with Jumpstart...but I think that they could figure out a way to keep Habi. Even if it meant everyone starting from scratch again and rebuilding, I would be totally ok with that. Getting rid of it altogether I am NOT ok with.

The whole event was sort of a mess, if you ask me. Ridiculous inflation, the effects of which are still around, the whole thing with the retired avatars...
I don't do the event anymore - I gave up eventually because 90% of the time, I got absolutely nothing. The only beneficial thing I got from it was a +10 stat boost to my battle pet, but it wasn't worth it to just get nothing every day in the very faint hope of getting something cool.

I would fix the glitches. And all the changes needed that are low priority now - for example the old Battledome stats that don't show in the new one and you can't get some avvies. Speaking of avvies, I'd make it possible for all of them to be obtainable somehow - I don't find it fair that people who were too young or just didn't know about the site before won't get in the top of the avvies' collector list just because they can't get the expired ones.
 
And most importantly - I'd make all requirement and info clear and visible. So nobody has to wonder if something is ok or not and has to search in forums and editorials, wonder about avvie requirements, plot rewards (what would you miss speaking of prizes, if you miss a day of the plot or don't do everything on the day of release etc.) Such things are most annoying for me :)

I like pure because I can collect bank interest, but I do wish that I had enough NP to start building some more "material" wealth (like map sets, etc.) in my SDB just because it's nice to know that even if something happens to your NP (like a trip to Kauvara's magic shop, for instance - hehe), you still have that chunk sitting in your SDB waiting to bail you out. Most ETS items exhibit some fluctuation over time but with the amount that you're investing you aren't going to be gaining or losing a massive amount unless something REALLY weird happens to the Neopian economy.

Try using Quick Game to join matches? There's no lag (usually), unlike the ridiculous amount of lag that happens when at least one other person is in the lobby with you. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee of being put into a 2-player game.

I'm especially down with the need for a SENT folder in Neomail. I have a HORRRRRRID memory and have run into troubles with trades because I cannot remember what or to whom I have sent offers/questions.

1) It's probably really impractical, but multiple live staff available near 24/7 to easier resolve reports, harassment, TICKETS, etc. to help facilitate better interactions with staff. I feel that would ease a lot of fears and tensions help by many Neopians.
 
2) DEFINITELY nightfall8705's idea for a book ticker!! This would be awesome.
 
3) Some sort of regular event to bring the prices of certain items back down to a reasonable level. I wouldn't want anyone to LOSE money that they put in rare/ETS items, but some sort of inflation control would be really great. However, I also feel that this defeats the purpose of Neopets' (almost) entirely citizen-controlled economy. So I'll go with this

Some sort of cool, throwback events open only to certain years - for example, 12 year old accounts get a special plot that pulls an element from the site 12 years ago, or accounts ages 7-15 have some sort of cool event/plot/prize available. It'd really just be a fun way to bring back some old elements of the site that some of the more experienced players miss.

Same! There's so much stuff that really needs to be fixed, such as the Battledome, and Habitarium. Then I would put a sent folder into Neomail, because it drives me absolutely crazy that there isn't one, as well as make it overall more accessible and user-friendly. Lastly I would just get to work on all of the tihngs, big and small, that the users want. I've heard a million different complaints about Neopets, most of which would be easy to fix. I would just try to get in touch with the users and have them submit what they think could be improved.
And I love fullonparanoid's of having an amalgamated main and side account!

Those petpets look so funny! I like them all; the Deviled Egg Goldy and the Rainy Day Ruining Your Picnic Cirrus are probably my favourite out of these, but they're all great. Hopefully my petpet lab rat gets zapped into one of those. :P

The petpet lab map is really cheap, currently the complete set cost ca 6530np, so you should be able to get the neopoints needed to buy it in just a day. ;) Sadly, you need to have access to the regular lab ray first. :/ Hope you can join the fun soon! :)

After a random refresh it just reappeared in a smaller form, now it's back completely. I didn't take a screenie when it was missing, sorry - but it was literally like the tile where there's usually a large stone was just grass, and I could TELL a P3 to harvest there but they would never actually get anything. I blocked a P3 in by the stone last night and he harvested all night and I actually got the stone this time, so that's great!

What. What are these new petpets. I need 20.

You can "over harvest" at times :) It will regenerate over time, or you can ask one of your NeoFriends to repair your resource tiles for you, and that should patch it up right away.
