I was unable to post or send messages here on TDN for a few days, which was super weird, but then I had back-to-back color changes on my Pound Pet/Spa Spot during that time which was EVEN WEIRDER. 4/15: The ray is fired at Julio_Pops... and she changes colour to Skunk!! 4/16: The ray is fired at Julio_Pops... and she changes colour to Pastel!! She was adopted out as a Pastel Bruce (came in as a Red Bruce), and now we have Rocalunar the Red Grarrl in the Spa Spot! 4/17: The ray is fired at rocalunar... and he gains 2 defence points!!

The ray is fired at Julio_Pops... and she changes gender!! *sighs* ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY POUND-ZAPPER THIS WEEK IS GENDER CHANGES. Like, four times now. THIS POOR BRUCE HAS WHIPLASH.

I LOVE the direction they're going with wearables lately. There are so many looks that 10-20 years ago would've only been attainable via paint brush - like this three-headed Shoyru costume - that are now available as general buyables with a lot more customization power and the option to make regular changes without constantly paying for brushes/potions to do it.

*sniff* MY BABY'S GROWING UP She'll eventually wear the body 'shrooms, but I'm loving the ivy markings too much right now to swap them out. Plus, it's a gradual thing, you know? An ancient, undiscovered deific relic doesn't just sprout mushrooms everywhere OVERNIGHT, of course.

It sounds like the stamp is going to be a long-haul profit if you want to sell it, so you may be sitting on it for a few years before it really picks up in price. Get the paintbrush for yourself if you want it!

"Best" is subjective, of course, but what are your top NP wearable picks? Some items just seem to rise above the rest in terms of quality, vibe, or the way they enhance your pet's customization. I think there are pretty evident quality tiers of NP wearable items, and while most new releases just keep getting better and more cohesive, there are still a few "old" gems from the last few years. What are your favorites? I'm a fan of Trudys Head Wreath, Bubbles in the Lake, the Oasis Eyrie set, Jhudoras Dungeon Background, and the new Ceramic Artist Table Foreground and Ceramic Studio Background from Trudy's Surprise. I suppose the Faerielands Destruction Background is on up there too now that it's in circulation again. I don't own the Breathtaking Night Sky background or Inside a Toy Claw Machine Background, but I WISH I did! This list is a great source for finding new-old (new to you) NP wearables. I really like the way it's organized. UPDATED TO ADD: The Chomby Mushroom set has become a new favorite of mine, as have the Faerie Caverns Background and the new Illusen Wings! Like, holy COW those wings are nice. Cross your fingers that my TP offer is accepted on a pair soon

Man, you know fungi are really having a pop culture moment when one person references TLOU, another one references Mexican Gothic, and yet another (hi, it’s me) is thinking What Moves the Dead. I actually like the look better without the eye mushrooms; I love the way the rest of the set gives sort of a forgotten forest deity/ancient one/post-humanity vibe, but the eyeshrooms sort of break the magic for me. Not sure why. Love the rest of the set though!

Myncis (Myncii?) are not for me, but if I had to choose one, Faerie or Mutant would be my picks! Maybe I just played (and lost) too much Mynci Beach Volleyball back in the day.

I've not historically been a huge Chomby lover, but omg I'm OBSESSED with those mushrooms!! Imagine how they'd look on a RELIC Chomby! edit: look what you made me do. you made me go and create a Chomby. smh.

I guess the moral of the story is that we really dislike Kikos and Jubjubs around here

I was surprised not to see some sort of wrap-up message (like a "thanks for your help/now we can XYZ" cutscene type popup) after collecting the last shard and redeeming my points today. Do we have any idea what might happen tomorrow? Anything special for the conclusion of the event?

Kuporion would certainly fit right in with the eeveelution family, if you ask me! Personally, I think Kaskafil has my favorite named of out of the little kommunity.

All of my original pets (from 2001 or so) have TERRIBLE names because I had no idea what I was doing and took whatever abominable string of numbers and underscores Neopets unhelpfully suggested I append to my original (taken) choice. These include Angel_Rules_2001, Ally_Anna33, Sigma123_2001, and Zena1305. Yikes, but... y'know. It is what it is. I'm too attached to them to ever do anything about it. All of the names of pets that I created post-2001 (which really just means 2020ish to present, lol) are very carefully chosen and have special meanings. I like to either find a unique but related word for their eventual appearance (color/species), or combine a few until I get something that sounds like what I want. Rivulett, my Maraquan Lutari, is just an alternative spelling of Rivulet (which was already taken), meaning "a very small stream" Samsanthea, my Island/Christmas crosspainted sunflower Kau, got her mashup name from the Hebrew "Samson", meaning "like the sun", and the Greek "Thea", or "goddess". This one is also extra fun because I have synesthesia and the colors of all of the letters in her name - it’s a very autumnal palette - are present in her customization! Amplexicaul, my Woodland Techo, is a term that describes a specific type of leaf; fitting, then, for a leaf-footed gecko! HedleyKow, my lab rat (currently a Pastel Bruce, which is actually super cute), is named after a mischievous faerie tale elf whose most notable quality is shapeshifting to play harmless tricks on unsuspecting passersby; again, perfect for a pet whose entire purpose is to let me play around with the lab ray. ETA Primordhia, my new Chomby as of Chomby Day, whose name comes from "primordial" for obvious reasons; I think I'll eventually paint her Relic!

This is something that I actually think is really important! I remember being frustrated as a kid that I wasn't very good at some parts of the site, like certain games, because inexperienced kid (lol). Now I'm a bona fide adult, and I have manual dexterity issues due to a medical condition. I think it's great that they're rewarding player commitment (logging in every day, doing a few clicks) over brute skill for this one. It's so much more accessible and it's fairly attainable for all Neopians. Amen to that!

I didn't get a screenshot because I quickly clicked away due to the - understandable, imo - seething rage welling up inside me (jk, but... y'know), but in the midst of grinding through my training fortune cookie and having just finish a Level course, Angel_Rules_2001 got conked on the head by a falling evil coconut and lost a level. So I've got that going for me!

@Secre OMG, that was me yesterday with the Wheel of Excitement!! They mentioned looking for sparkles, and as soon as I saw that wheel (that I see, like, every day, so what was I thinking??), I had ultra tunnel vision.

@Secre Does that mean that when you went to Faerieland today, you had 10 total shards to collect right off the bat, or did it take a few refreshes to get them all to appear bit by bit? I've done my two days in a row now and I can't tell if they're appearing all at once and it's just taking me several tries to spot them all, or if they really do meter out over refreshes and I'm not crazy for needing to go back and forth a few times. I grabbed Varia is the Bomb first thing yesterday, and so far it's pretty darn impressive. A 25-icon weapon for five clicks on my screen was too good for me to pass up.

I'm currently actively keeping up with new eps of S3 of The Mandalorian (!!) (or really all of the Star Wars streaming series, if I'm being honest), Law & Order: SVU, and 9-1-1: Lonestar, and I'm falling away from Grey's Anatomy. I have never experienced such a rapid and spectacular decline in interest as I have with the return of Season 19 of Grey's. Jeez. Not sure if the quality really has tanked, or if I've just done a lot of growing up since the mid-2000s. I'm also doing a casual Community rewatch and a more dedicated Madam Secretary rewatch. "Henry McCord become real and marry me" challenge. I know that copyright infringement is, y'know, a thing, but I would die for a Grogu-inspired PB option. A Poogle or Kacheek (or maybe even Kiko or Lutari?) could definitely pull it off!
