Because all communications on Neopets are monitored by TNT. You may have been reported or TNT may have found the content unsuitable. You have to understand that it's their right to filter any traffic on their website, especially if you have already been warned once for referencing Linda Blair (who can easily be related to an occult and R-rated film). Logic would dictate that Linda Blair was the source of controversy in the statement you made, wouldn't it? Then why talk about her again after already once being warned? If you don't find their rules suitable for your needs, then find somewhere else to do it, like a fansite or even here on the forums. The site is highly monitored for everyone's safety and to ensure that no sensibilities are offended. If you found someone "getting away with worse" then you have every right to report them as well.

It's kinda cute explaining to him the UC thing. It goes sorta like this...
"So I traded my dragon (draik) for a rare pet. and these rare pets can't be made anymore so everyone likes them!"
and his response is always...
"Which 10 year old did you con into taking their rare pet?!?"

A bagel with sun-dried-tomato-creamcheese, cucumber, sun-dried tomatoes, some pine nuts, salmon and a bit sun-dried-tomato-tapenade. It was delicious! :D

People are usually very happy to trade for GBCs (or caps aka Gift Box Mystery Cap) unless they're looking for something specific on their wishlist (WL). GBC is like the basic currency of NC trading & items are often valued at the number of GBC. EG: If an item is going for 3 caps/GBCs, it'll have a value of ~600 NC (3x200 NC). If you're offering a custom, that means you're offering the other party the choice to pick out whatever they want of up to 600 NC from the mall. So, the other party may want a Shenanigift 5-pack (500 NC) & a faerie quest cookie (100 NC).

One note on item valuing though: while some may value an item at say, one cap, it may be HTPW (hard to part with) for others so they may value it much more.
 
If you're unsure of the value of an item, don't hesitate to create a value check board or a fair trade board if you're unsure whether you're under or over offering.
 
Much like NP trading (& buying stuff in general), look & lurk around to find a price you're comfortable with.

Tedua, my draik that was hatched on my boyfriend and I's 2 year anniversary. Her name means "I love you" in Albania (Te dua).
Her customization is valentines day theme, but she's mostly my love theme draik :P

It's my not so secret secret to all my neofriends.
The best advice I have is to get a scorchstone or something so you can continuously heal yourself.
Not sure if all opponents give equal prizes, but I fight the Kreludor Robot (?) on easy. I get codestones and neotokens.
I always use the tokens, because it's pure profit win or lose!

I was one of the users around from before customization and when I saw it, I was a bit... weirded out... at first. I'm like, these are pets, that's silly. Then I thought, well, a background would be nice. Then it just snowballed from there, with customization being one of my favorite things about the site.
 
There's just so many possibilities to it. Not just making your pet unique, but making it fit you. I love dressing my pets for the seasons/holidays. Or maybe something that fits my mood or the weather we're having. (I actually had one of my pets be a Notable Neopet with a customization I made to fit all of the thunderstorms we'd been having that week.) Or just making a nice customization surrounding that one item that's just absolutely gorgeous.
 
And it's not a trade off for me, like it's customizing my pets or taking care of them. My pets are never hungry, rarely sick (Healing Springs willing), never less than Delighted, they have toys. I spend NP on books and training for them. They're all completely spoiled, including a better closet than I have.

You should realise though, that there is a nightly maintenance from 2-4 am NST. While it is down you won't be able to earn any XP or gems, and your Habi doesn't start earning XP again until you refresh it. I still put my Habi on if I set it up at 10 pm NST or earlier- any later than that, and I don't bother. It isn't worth the time to set it up.
 
Workers get tired after about 8 hours, and will fall asleep, so I don't recommend leaving it for 12 hours without supervision- the last couple hours won't be very profitable!

It would be super nice if they just postponed it for a while. I'm crossing my fingers that we will still get the event this year. :D

When I came back after my hiatus, I was anti customization. I guess I didn't like the change. But now, I'm addicted...I spend way too much money on NC. I jsut LOVE dressing up my draiks to match their personality.

I have played neo for a very long time (maybe...10 years or so?)
My mom and brother used to give me the hardest time about playing a kids game, even though at the time I was 14...and let's be honest here, 14 year olds were different then than they are now. Since then, it's just been one of those things I've been super ashamed of. Until recently, I kept it a secret. My boyfriend knows I play, and I usually show him my draiks and their customizations. He gives me great input, as well as purchases my NC weekly. He works full time, and a very demanding schedule at that. His words to me, were "He's happy I have something that brings me joy and entertains me while he isn't around." :rolleyes_anim: It's gotten to the point now, where he will buy me NC when I'm upset. Or, discusses my possible trades with me. I think it's absolutely adorable that he pretends to care, I just have to remember to pretend to care about his games, as well. ;)

I started playing Neo because of my girlfriend. I played another online game and she tried that for me (and hated it) so I gave this a shot for her. I thought it was cute that she played this in an interested way, not in a jeering way, since I have my own vices and passions. I think the problem is that people that don't understand how complex and varied this game is. There are so many different things you can do/collect that there is something for everyone.
 
After I found all this out, I became addicted and now I play more than my girlfriend. Everyone has their own vice and addiction and everyone has some way of using their free time. I choose to sit on this game and try to gain NP. People can make fun of me for that if they wish, not that anyone has. They have the right to believe what they want and I won't let it get to me. I enjoy Neo and I'm not ashamed that I have an opinion and enjoy a game.
