Ian got a reaction from Duma in Phishing Threat Error
Thanks for the additional details. The Daily Neopets' security certificate is fine and is in functioning order.
What appears to be happening is that thedailyneopets.com is being blocked by OpenDNS, a DNS provider you're using to access the entire internet. We need OpenDNS to unblock thedailyneopets.com or use a different DNS provider. Two steps here to help TDN get unblocked:
Submit a message (with these screenshots from here) to , requesting that the domain thedailyneopets.com be unblocked and is a legitimate website In the mean time, do not use OpenDNS to access the internet. Consider using an alternative like Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). To switch your DNS provider from your connection, follow this for MacOS or Windows. Let me know if switching your DNS provider worked for you.

Ian got a reaction from Aimee in How To Get Group Promotions
Hi!
There are a couple of different groups on TDN Forums. There are Members, Super Members, and then Fantastic Members. The remainder of those groups are reserved for staff members of The Daily Neopets.
Super Members have bolded usernames. These members are considered "Super Members." To become a Super Member, you must have at least 400 posts on the forums. Super Members enjoy the following benefits:
Name Changes - You can change your display name ONCE every 30 days
Mass Private Messaging - You can mass PM 20 people, instead of 10 people
Increased Message Storage - You can store up to 100 300 messages
Bolded username - Your name will be more recognized by other members.
Certain members also have gold stars and dashed lines by their name. They are considered "Fantastic Members." To become a Fantastic Member, you must have at least 2000 posts on the forums. Fantastic members get numerous benefits, such as the following:
Flood Control - You can avoid all flood controls
Name Changes - You can change your display name TWICE (instead of once) every 30 days
Increased Message Storage - You can also store up to 225 500 messages now!
Gold Star - A gold star will be placed by your name
Mass Private Messaging - You can now mass PM 50 people, instead of 20
Fantastic Members Only - In this forum, we'll post sneak peaks of new features coming soon... progress, etc.
You should automatically be moved to the respective group, once you have reach the specified amount of posts.
TO CHANGE YOUR MEMBER TITLE: My Settings -> Profile Info
TO CHANGE YOUR DISPLAY NAME: My Settings -> Display Name
Please take note that staff appear in the colored names and these cannot be obtainable by any normal member.

Ian got a reaction from Aimee in How To Decrease Your Warn Level
The Daily Neopets Forum Guidelines have been put in place to ensure that our forums stay friendly and filled with meaningful content. :)
If you've been officially warned, it's possible to have your warn level decreased. Simply fill out the form below and send it via private message to our Head Moderator, Spritzie.
This form should only be sent in 60 days after you've been warned. For example: if you were originally warned on March 1, the earliest you could submit this form and apply for a warn level reduction is May 1.
What forum guideline did I break? What should I have done instead? Will I do this again?Thank you! -
Ian got a reaction from Aimee in The Daily Neopets Forum Guidelines
Hi!
My name is Ian and I'm the creator of The Daily Neopets. On behalf of all of The Daily Neopets and its members, welcome! We're glad you're here. b)
In this topic, I'll outline the guidelines for The Daily Neopets Forums. At The Daily Neopets, we strive to be a friendly Neopets community that's focused on Neopets discussion and help. These guidelines have been put in place to ensure that The Daily Neopets Forums remain a friendly place with meaningful content. And if you're ever unsure about something, be sure to contact one of our Global Moderators; they're here to help and answer any questions you might have.
1. Respect All Members
The Golden Rule at The Daily Neopets is "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Being respectful means being kind and courteous to one another and keeping your cool in tense situations. Harassing and/or trolling others is never the way to resolve conflict; always contact a Moderator if a situation gets out of hand.
2. Don't Post S.P.A.M. (short, pointless, annoying messages)
Here's how we would define spam:
Posts that are less than 7 words. (Adding off-topic words to add to post word count is considered spam.) Excessive use of smilies without any meaningful post content. Posts that bump an irrelevant topic back up to the top. Posts that are irrelevant. Any posts that use chat speak or are virtually incomprehensible. Double posts (No two or more posts in a row by the same member. "Edit" your posts to add information or use "MultiQuote" for your initial reply when replying to multiple posts.) Duplicate topics (you can search for a topic to see if it already exists). 3. Duplicate Forum Accounts
There is no need for anyone to have more than one account at TDN Forums as they are all the same. Duplicate accounts will be removed.
4. Neopets Guidelines Apply Here
For this reason do not post: (1) links to Neopets cheat programs or sites that sell Neopoints for real money, (2) messages asking for sensitive information like email addresses, Neopets PINs, and passwords, (3) messages asking for other personally identifiable information (respect other members' privacy), and (4) scam or chain messages.
5. Prohibited Content
Posting the following kind of content is always prohibited.
Links to harmful websites (cookie grabbers, trojans, viruses, worms) Links to any web site that could assist in circumventing Neopets' rules Any sites considered illegal by U.S. law Links to pornographic, suggestive, discriminatory, or obscene web sites Inappropriate profile pictures Swear words (allowed words: gosh, stupid, crap, heck, dang, sucks) For swear words/general language, if it's not allowed on the Neoboards, it's generally not allowed here either. Backseat moderating: click the "Report" button next to the post or topic instead Advertising/links to any real life items for sale 6. Signature Guidelines
All signature images should fit within a 500x250 px area. Keep your adoptables (i.e. Egg Cave) on one line, with a maximum of 5 adoptables. Moderators can still remove signatures that follow all of these rules if deemed obnoxious or inappropriate. 7. Do Not Remove Moderator Edits
At TDN Forums, one way moderators will let you know that you've broken a rule is through editing one of your offending posts with a moderator notice. Please take time to review these edits so that you don't break the same rule twice. Removing these moderator edits from any of your posts is prohibited and will lead to additional infractions.
Methods of Warning
Verbal warnings: verbal warnings are reminders from your Moderators about a guideline that you've broken. You'll receive these via PM. When received, please take time to review this topic again so you don't repeat the same mistake. Warnings: warnings are official and are made a part of your warn level and record at TDN Forums. Warning levels range from 0-6 Warning Points. Members are banned at 6 Warning Points. To decrease your warning points, please see this topic. Suspensions: temporary suspension are sometimes used in conjunction with an official warning. Permanent Bans: permanent bans are issued to spam bots, trolls, and members who have been repeatedly warned but have not changed. Our Warning Policy
+1 Warning Point: given after 7 minor offenses and a verbal warning (off-topic post, short post, double post, duplicate topic) +2 Warning Points: given if a 7-day moderator review period does nothing to lessen rule-breaking and continues on with 5 or more infractions. Two warning points are also given to trolls, flame-baiters, members who mention cheats, and members who are deliberately rude to other members or staff. +3 Warning Points: given after a member has already incurred 3 Warning Points and has not changed their behavior. At 6 Warning Points: Banned A Note On Pinned Topics
Moderators may pin topics to the top of a forum if they are particularly useful and relevant. Pinned topics are not, however, a popularity contest. A popular topic doesn't necessarily mean it'll be pinned. Moderators can pin and unpin topics at their discretion. Thank you for helping keep The Daily Neopets Forum the best Neopets forum on earth!

Updated Navigation
Our top navigation bar has been refreshed and plays friendlier with mobile devices. It also contains more links to more sections around TDN—like the items database.
Fixed Counters
We’ve fixed all of our existing counters at myTDN, including the ones for avatar checklists, Altador Cup, GMC, and more. It’s about time, isn’t it? Sorry for the delay!
Refreshed Avatar Checklists Look
We’ve revamped our NeoAvatars checklist area. It will feel familiar but look a little different. The biggest difference is that you can view avatar solutions directly on the page, instead of them being inside of a pop up (an extra click). We hope this makes finding the information you need easier.
Some NeoAvatars data may have went missing in our server move today, but we're in the process of restoring it as we speak. To re-import your avatars quicker, please visit One-Click Import.
A Faster TDN
Without boring you with a bunch of nerd talk, we’ve made a bunch of behind-the-scenes improvements to our backend code that has, in some cases, cut page load times in half. We've re-written our front-end stylesheet and JavaScript too.
New Site Search
Our site search is now returns more relevant results based on what you’re searching for. Try it out in the sidebar. Please note that our main site search doesn’t return Items Database results just yet. Go to the Items Database directly for that information.
HTTPS Everywhere
The Daily Neopets, its pages, and all of its assets (like images and JavaScript) are now entirely served through the HTTPS protocol. This includes all of our myTDN account services, like the register and log in form. HTTPS means all of the communication between your browser and us is encrypted.
We hope that you enjoy these updates. They’re relatively minor but important to keep TDN online for years to come! Thank you for visiting.

Ian got a reaction from Mouseykins in NeoAvatars Refresh, Counters Fixed, Server More, and More
I know! Browsers favor HTTPS everywhere these days... did you know that Neopets.com isn't served over HTTPS entirely? Crazy to think that TDN, in a strange way, might be more secure than Neopets itself.
