Hours, when the guiggle changes and looks at his watch then you are half way there. Sure one of the guides has better data but I say my spins last about 4-8 hours.

Make sure your on hand NPS never dip below the cost of a spin. There is some type of glitch/error that if you go back and check your spinning wheel with fewer NPS than the cost of your spin the wheel kicks out off

Firefox gives me the DGS error, too. I do not believe the Shockwave games on Neopets will work with Firefox. I was able to get "Attack of the Slorgs" to load and play, with Internet Explorer 11. Still a bit buggy, and the game often freezes/stops and all I can do at that point is close it out and open it again, from the start. However, to get it (IE 11) to "recognize" that Shockwave is installed, I have to add "neopets.com" (without the quotes) to the "Compatibility View Settings" (Tools--Compatibility View Settings--type neopets.com into the text field--click the "Add" button). Afterwards, Firefox loaded "Attack of the Slorgs" and I could play it, but I cannot send my scores - it just changes to the download soundtrack page and nevr posts the scores. HaTPC and Gourmet Club Bowls still do not load, though. I did find a direct link to the ".swf" game for HaTPC and that did work, but I don't know if it would let me post my scores. There was a trick to get Gourmet Club Bowls working, by opening HatPC and leting it run, but those instructions say it has wrk for some, but using Google Chrome only. I do have a computer that is running Vista and IE 9. I'll have to try it with that and post the results. I think those games are just too old and Shockwave has been updated several times since then. Good luck!

Its funny, I've spun the past two days and have been able to collect winnings or rock beatings ... ya no problem losing hp. When I posted before it spun but I wasn't able to collect or maybe it just spun for 12+ hrs (can't quite remember but the quiggle did look at his watch). For some reason my nexus never goes into power save mode when spinning. So best answer is I can collect sometimes

Just because it has 3 stars doesn't necessarily mean it isn't any good. Mainly because a lot of people don't know how to actually review something properly or at the least don't know not to mark something down because of something they could't figure out for themselves about the app. If something small goes wrong or they can't install it on their device they'll mark it one to three stars in my experiences with apps. Giving an app a low score just because you can't download it is asinine. It's always best to try to get a sampling of the reviews that caused the low star count so you can kinda get a feel for whether it truly deserves a low rating. Nothing says your reviews have to be truthful or anything either and some people will troll on reviews for things just to be a pain in the bum. A good example that I can think of is a Chrome extension where you can change racist and MRA comments on youtube to pictures of cats. Well, the racists and the MRAs and whoever else decided to be whiny babies about the app and they gave a bunch of one star reviews with total lies like 'this app will give you a virus!!! do not download!!' Which meant on the surface the extension seemed to be a bad idea until you saw that so many reviews were trolls given half of them were almost the same fake lying review with just slightly different wording while the other half were real reviews.

Puffin does have a free version, so you can give it a try. They do limit Flash use during 6 am to 6 pm. However, the Puffin data centers are located in the US, and as your location shows "London, UK", that could be an issue. Certain sites, like the BBC, may not let you view content (shows), if they "see" you from a non-UK IP address, but you could always use Safari for that. There is also Photon Flash Player and iSwifter. Both of those, like Puffin, support Flash based games, but do not have a free version. iSwifter may allow short limited time use, so you can try it before deciding to purchase the "full" version. There is also Skyfire Web Browser, but it does not seem to support Flash based games. I have used Puffin, but not the others, and I like it enough. Not sure how many stars Photon has, but it may be more to your liking. The only downside is Photon doesn't seem to offer a free trial period. I agree with Shane for Wax, for some apps. At least Puffin offers a free version. Even though it is limited to 6 am to 6 pm, you can see if it will meet your needs to decide if you want ot purchase the full version or if it meets your needs during that time period, you don't really have anything to lose. However, if I see an app with more negative reviews than positive ones (seen some on Google Play like that), I will read about the app and read some reviews, both positive and negative, but I will generally stay away from it, especially if it is made by a relatively "unknown" developer. Hope you find this useful.

I use puffin and I love it. There are still some games I can't play, but I've never had an issue with any of the dailies. I bought the paid version of puffin so I can use it any time. If I remember correctly it was less than $5 and it has been well worth it. I've never tried dolphin so I can't compare the two.

I used IDNQ's maps and guides to get me through NQII in all difficulties. Here's a pretty good boss and skill strategy guide.

As far as how long it will take, I imagine a couple months or so would be a fair estimate for the first run-through. Good luck! :)

good point, didn't think about it from that point of view for some reason. I got a grey faerie quest - fountain faerie reward the other day, and I'm going for a water buzz partly cos water is lovely and expensive!

Anyway, I think a baby dressed up sherlock holmesy or similar would be cute! Maybe they will sell the tuxedo/retired clothing capsule soon?

I don't think I'd pick Baby just because the PB for it is so cheap. It would sort of seem like a waste of a FFQ to me.

I got a FFQ during the Faerie Quest Event and painted a Buzz stealthy. He's hanging out on my side account right now. So for me I'd choose Stealthy since it's a more expensive color and comes with clothing, also the Maraquan one is good too since it's an expensive color.

It's best to train strength, defense, and endurance (and level as much as you have to in order to be allowed to train the others). The strength and defense boosts are often significantly cheaper than a comparable weapons upgrade, though it does take time. But you can pay for much of your training with the dubloons and codestones you'll eventually win from the BD (and the boons you can sometimes win with the Obelisk skirmishes).

If you have the lab ray, I highly recommend supplementing your training with zapping (after you're past level 50 or so...). The key is to train as often as you can, focus on defense and strength, and make sure no stat is running away from you. If you have a stat that's threatening to push you into the next most expensive training level, just take a break from zapping until you catch up. Yes, the lab can take stats away, but in the long run, you'll gain a lot more than you lose, on average. This can save you millions of NP on your way to a top-boost pet -- but more importantly, it can save you a lot of time. I've seen several lab logs, and every single one shows a significant net increase in overall stats. Sure, you'll have to train defense a little more often than you would have to otherwise, but you can go months between endurance trainings -- and as long as you're not overpaying for stats, you're saving NP (since all stats cost the same).

If you have specific questions or want specific examples for what people have mentioned, just ask -- maybe share the specific stats and current weapons for your planned battle pet. Just start small and work your way up. I started with a pair of scarab rings. (You can start with a much better set for much cheaper now.)

I was in a similar situation in Dec when I needed a bunch of game and battle avatars. Knowing I am bad and mostly uninterested in the games, I decided to knock out the battle ones. Its really overwhelming at first, reading all the guides, abilities and battle item descriptions then rereading because I forgot. But it doesn't have to be. TRAIN often, pirate training is cheaper so train there until level 40. Start fighting now so you know to how to use your weapons. Are you fighting Roberta? Just focus on training one pet, I don't lab ray my battle pet because I find it incredibly frustrating to pay for training that is just zapped away.

Basically, dont stress out and spend a ton of nps until you are somewhere between level 40-50 and your other abilities are x2 your level. You DON'T have to train movement unless you know you want to use one of the FEW items that requires it, ex heavy robe of thievery which stole in the old battledomes... very much doubt this will be fixed anytime soon if ever. Because of the battle gear glitch that plagued us for a month or two, I learned you really dont need much to battle and win. Seriously I won with multiple muffins, healer and a shield.

This is what I had equipped until recently and did just fine and a its super cheap set.
Scroll of Ultranova, Downsize!, Cursed Elixir, Scarab Ring, Parasol of Unfortunate and whatever muffins I won Once you know who you want to fight you can supplement. I fight jetsam ace and bought a leaf shield or knew I wanted a TMP from Harry the Mutant and paired my scarab ring with a Blunted Qasalan Gladius Sword. Lose the scarab ring when you are midlevel fighting. Cursed Elixir is a must because it heals you 20 hp while taking away 20 from your challenger. I have some useful links on http://www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=Sparkmoicheck out the ability guide. I now battle almost every day, got the challenger avvies and 3 of the skirmish ones, make most of my training costs and a few valuable items. Haven't won a paintbrush yet, but technically its possible

mtsparky reacted to hrtbrk in Dear Jumpstaff: A Roadmap to Neopets Content
Here's a checklist to help the new Jumpstaff since they seem to be struggling with adding some finishing touches on news posts and events that happen on the site. To their credit, they are starting to become more comfortable and they have gotten better but there are still a few things that could be spruced up:

    News
News is very important as it adds new content on the website on an (almost) regular basis. It is also very important to have the news page look as fancy and eye catching as possible. The news typically has scheduled releases for each day of the week... so here we go.

Monday: Monday usually holds a random new item, poem winner, a new Storytelling winner, pet spotlight winner and Customization contest winners. These three to four things are VERY easy to add into the news. As each contest (should) start anew on Monday, it is also very easy to advertise the winners/start of the new contests and have a complete news release for Monday.

If you are understaffed and cannot pick new winners for spotlights/storytelling/poems, at least announce the new Customization contest and their winners.

Tuesday: Tuesday usually announces either two new petpets, two new plushies or two new morphing potions. As you guess it, you also release the spotlight winners for Userlookup of the Week and possibly the Art gallery. Again, another easy day to have a full news release with minimal effort.

Wednesday: Shocker - two new items are usually released on Wednesdays (plushies, petpets, mps, stamps) and of course it's time to announce a brand new Better Than You competition as well as Site Spotlight, Caption Contest and PPL winner. Again. Easy.

Thursday: I believe Thursdays usually have a new mystery pic and new petpet spotlight. Possibly announce two new items if a pet day hasn't bumped them to another day of the week.

Friday: Again, usually two random items, announce the new beauty contest.

PET DAYS: I cannot begin to stress to you how important these are. Users literally wait 364 days for their favourite species day. DO. NOT. MESS. AROUND. WITH. THIS. The new colours MUST be ready. Don't tease a paint brush. Don't say they are coming and then announce it 5 days later. HAVE THEM READY ON THEIR PET DAY. Don't even begin to think otherwise. Have the preview images be 150 x 150. Not any bigger, not any smaller. Have them activated in the Rainbow Pool as soon as the news releases - not days, weeks or months later. Immediately. Remember, people wait an entire year for this specific day. Make it count because a lot of people are counting on you.

DO NOT PRIORITIZE ANNOUNCING THINGS ON FACEBOOK OVER ANNOUNCING THEM ON NEOPETS.COM. EVER. STOP DOING THAT.

    EVENTS
When it comes to events, it will be very beneficial to put up a FAQ section somewhere. We understand the help/ticket system might not work at all times, but for the love of Neocola, put up a dang FAQ some place on the website, even your specific Neoboard. It will greatly cut down the amount of tickets you receive and event spam on your Facebook page.

    Include things like:
how long the event will last (start and end dates) if there are bonus prizes for daily participation what we are required to do when prizes will be available and for how long after the event ends we are able to claim them Don't forget to change the marquees on the front page on the website. These are the first things that people will see when they visit and will want to check out. Make sure it is as up to date as possible because who wants to click on something thinking that it's new, only to find out it's 4 weeks old and no longer exists.

    NC Mall events
The above still applies. Include retire dates and if there will be bonus prizes.

The new staff members are almost there... what do you think is missing? Let's give them a helping hand.

The Android version doesn't state permissions to the device's camera are required. Strange that the iOS one would. The only reason I could think is if it links in with Facebook or Game Center or another app that would require access to the camera. I undertand LillytheGrundo's comment, but any app that requires access to the camera has that capability. Either you understand what the permissions are for, or do not install the app. Instagram, without access to your camera, wouldn't be much of an app. However, a questionable looking "make your friends believe you can unlock your phone with facial recognition" app, that may use your camera to "scan" your face and appear to "unlock" your phone, I wouldn't install or trust. If a major app company was found using people's cameras to record information, I'm sure there would be legal reprocussions, or nobody would be using the app. Anyhow, the iOS version requires iOS 7 and above. Unfortunately, it looks like your iPhone isn't incompatible with the app.
