jellysundae got a reaction from nightfall8705 in Neo has so much nommy food, let's eat it!
If you had to plan a party, stock your larder, or just decide on what to eat today, what would you choose from Neo's offerings? I find I'm drawn to a lot of the Altadorian grub, mmm, figs and honey and stuff ....D: Altador food would keep my belly full and happy, for sure!

Lentil soup, yes please, I love lentil soup!
Pastitsio. I had to Google this to find out what it was, and now I want! It's basically lasagne made with regular pasta shapes.
Melitinias. Sweet pastries made with spiced soft cheese.
Baklava, this stuff, so good...also, so fattening <.< >.>
Spicy hummus...oh yes, get in my belly! As long as it's not blow your head off hot >.>
Spinach and feta pie, all that buttery phyllo pastry...
    Grilled veggie platter, mmmm.
    Lots of olives!
    Stuffed figs ....D:
Fig muffin, look at that delicious syrup!
Pomegranate jelly, so on trend right now xD Bet it would be delish though!

Yep, I could very easily exist on the Altadorian diet!

I'm taking a book (Horns by Joe Hill!) to read while waiting at the airport (due to intense car jams I'm gonna leave home 6 hours early - and I'm so not kidding!); also I've got my mp3 player, my cell phone games... and a sleeping pill. Yep, I plan to sleep the flight away! xD

LOL Well, you've got lots of training ahead of you, and that WILL take a lot of time, so you can always start saving them later on instead of starting right now. ;) And yeah, get your NP built up, upgrade your bank savings account, and that'll be a good booster shot of "free NP" to help build up your savings even more. :)

However you wanna do it is fine. It IS your account after all, so the only opinion that really counts is your's. XD

    Have fun! :)

jellysundae got a reaction from cordeliavane in Friends to lovers to friends again?
It really is down to time, and the mental make-up of both people. I think there absolutely needs to be a period of time when you don't see each other after a break up. You'd both need time in your own headspace to go through the "getting over it" process, whatever that might entail for the individual person, and however long it took. An ex of mine; we were together for 4 years, we were engaged, we'd bought a house, all very happy families, when we split up I was devastated and it took me a year to completely get over him, but that was 13 years ago and if I ran into him again now I could easily be friends with him again. because I'm just not the same person any more and hopefully neither is he.

But you know, something I've learnt from personal experience is that some guys, that one included, can have a hard time understanding that they no longer have any kind of proprietorial rights over any ex of theirs, and can't be trusted to not think it's still ok for them to grab your behind and so on, just because they used to be able to do that...

jellysundae got a reaction from Mirandaell in My sweet 16!~ and a father who doesn't care
This is so true! People tend to realise these things too late, too. Though another viewpoint will say it's never too late, but I'm on the fence about that. I wish I had a dad. I have a father but that's not the same at all, is it. He's never been an active part of my life, I haven't seen him for 25 years, our communication is christmas and birthday cards.

But what can you say? Family can be amazing, but it's often a weird and often awkward dynamic, you have this blood bond with a group of people, some of whom you might not even like if you met them as a stranger, and that's the crux of it for me. You choose your friends, but you can't pick your family as the saying goes.

I hope you still managed to enjoy your special day, and can learn in time to not let your father's behaviour towards you spoil your life.

Mirandaell, I'm sorry you're hurting on your special day. No matter how many people love us, we always crave love from our family, especially our parents. It sounds like you already know this, but I'll say it anyway: your dad choosing not to be an active part in your and your siblings' lives is 100% a reflection on who he is, not on who you (or your siblings) are. He's the one who's truly missing out. Maybe he'll realize it one day. Maybe he never will. Try to focus on all the people surrounding you with love, and celebrate your relationships with them.

And Happy Birthday! I hope the rest of your birthday celebrations are full of happiness and love.

Are you in a position where you could leave home? I read your profile so I'm guessing you're looking for a job at the moment? I just feel that from what you've said your home environment is somewhat toxic for you and that's a lot of the reason for why your self-esteem is so low, and that in itself leads to comfort eating, it's a downward spiral. If you had a way to get away from that, and be around people who weren't generally negative towards you, it would be a huge help for your mental health. There's nothing worse than living around people who don't have a good thing to say to you.

Do you get out and about much? I'd recommend spending as much time away from your family as possible if you can, not only will it be great for you to spend time around people who don't automatically think badly of you and talk down to you and so on, but it will be better for your physical health rather than lurking inside and playing games.

Lots of people to respond to, thanks guys :D Let's do some answering!

    These ones I already play:

    Pyramids
    Sakhmet Solitaire
    kou-jong

Everyone who mentioned Snot Splatter, thanks for that! I don't think I'd ever have tried it without a recommendation and you're all so right, it's just right for me :D No stress involved, and I can learn how to play it better too. Anything that there's a bit of thinking to do better, but not enough to make your head hurt, is ideal.

Time Tunnel xD I used to be very good at that game, because I'd always been very good at Mastermind, I used to make myself play it occasionally to try and get the avatar, but I never succeeded because I really can't stand it, it bores me to death, so I'd always reach my tolerance limit before I got the avatar >< Now though, I can't play it at all, because my brain can't understand it, it just can't make sense if it. See how I talk about my brain like it's a seperate entity now...it's a coping mechanism I guess, pretending it's nothing to do with me <.< >.>

Desert Race! I used to play that, and liked it, but I couldn't remember what it was called, and hadn't got enough brain cells together to sensibly try and find out where it was, so thank you very much for saying the name!

Neoquest/II I've played both before, and have started on the first one again, but because of its slightly tedious nature it doesn't hold my concertration for very long, those are definitely ones that I can do though, even if it's not for that long. :)

Cheat There's another that I can play, but only for a short while, for some reason it starts to stress me out after a while. Maybe it's because of repeatedly nearly emptying your hand, only to get a load of extra cards dumped on you. Seems brain can't deal with that too well!

Neggsweeper That's another that I used to be excellent at, but my brain struggles with now. I can still play it, but it requires an amount of thinking that's way above what you guys would need. I play it on hard because it's boring otherwise, but I end up having a lot of *head/desk* moments because I do really dumb things and frustrate me ><

Destruct-o-match That's another that mildly stresses me out, for reasons that I can't fathom.

Hmm, I've run out of brainpower for saying more about individual games >< But there's a bit of a pattern here isn't there. A lot of the games make me anxious, though I tend to not be able to pinpoint why. I'll often just play one round of a game then flee because I can't face the other two. I'll definitely try out the others that you guys have suggested though, even Plushie Tycoon maybe, though I very strongly suspect that that will be too complicated for me :*

Thank you, and keep the suggestions coming!

I'm excited for your trip, it's going to be such a different experience for you! I'm glad you're getting some warm clothing together, do you have much in the way of sweaters? Multiple thinner layers keeps you warmer than one or two thick layers, also, easier to take a layer off and pop it into your bag if you get too warm, or carry one with you to put on if you're shivering! As the temp's gonna be a totally new thing for you and you don't know how you're gonna cope with it, some flexibility with your layering's going to help you a lot. A scarf and gloves are gonna be great, don't forget a hat though! Especially one that will cover your ears, ears got so cold they hurt are a misery that people from warmer climes never have to suffer, so a soft fluffy hat to ward that off is a must. After your first time out in the cold you'll have a far better idea of what to wear though. :) The cold's gonna give you a perfect excuse for things like hot chocolate though, isn't it? ;D
