I dyed the ends of my hair purple before! Everyone was like that too hahaa. The only bad thing is that it washes out fast. Hopefully urs is different!

I'm a natural red head, and I actually really like my natural color but I like to experiment now and then. I dyed it like red, red in high school a few times but it washed out quickly. Then for a few years I used to just dye the bottom half dark brown and that was probably my favorite look...although I do like my current purple :)

Title. In the past hour, I've had 9 people stop me, tell my hair is beautiful, and ask to touch it because they've never seen purple hair. I feel pretty! Tell me some of your dye stories!

It's the name of a virus, not an intent to offend someone. And, as Siniri said, it's also the name of a river.
The pet was also named 2 years ago, before the panic and spread of misinformation that's happening now.
The problems I see lie with the people who are panicking without any actual knowledge of the virus or how it spreads, not with a Neopet. Maybe we should try to spread facts and information about the virus, instead of trying to find offense with things that shouldn't be a problem?

Ebola is a river in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Ebola virus was named after that river because one of the first outbreaks occurred in a village near that river.
 
Yes, there is a serious Ebola epidemic right now. However, that pet is nearly two years old. It's possible it was named after the river instead of the virus, or maybe it was a random combination of letters that mimicked a real thing. Or maybe it was named after the Ebola virus -- but in a context in which there was no current outbreak, no one dying of it.
 
I have a friend whose real-life cat is named Yersinia. As in Yersinia pestis, the bacteria that caused the plague (the Black Death) -- because cats were domesticated to control the rodent population, the carriers of the vector of the plague. My friend is a doctor. Many people in the health sphere have "gallows humor"; it helps them cope. It's not meant to be disrespectful, but I can get how some people think it is.
 
Naming a pet after a virus is not necessarily even meant to be "gallows humor," either. I know many virologists who really respect the lifeforms they work with. They're fascinated by how such a short snippet of genomic material, coding just a handful of proteins, can reproduce and thrive. Ebola is actually relatively simple, startlingly so, considering the devastation it wreaks. I know it might seem weird to find something so small and so deadly beautiful, but it's not much different than people fascinated by poisonous snakes, or sharks, or spiders.

I believe you're forgetting Windows ME, the millennium edition - Every one I knew that knew anything about computers all called it Microsoft Error.

Desktop - good lord. This is your problem: Your desktop is ancient and running VISTA by far the worst thing Microsoft has ever created. There was XP, 7 and now 8 - you're running three software updates behind. FF keeps crashing because FF no longer supports Vista. Your shockwave will continue to crash no matter what you do until you update your OS software. That's your only fix.
 
I have the same problem with my mac. My laptop, with the exception of no space, software not up to date and basically no programs supporting my OS anymore runs beautifully. I paid $1500 for the one with the biggest hard drive and now compared to what the new models have, it's like a thumb drive! I think I got my money's worth though, seeing on how it has been working for almost 7 years without a single problem. My problem besides space is money. I should just buy a new one but I no longer have student loans to help me purchase things, as I did when I started college.
 
So that's basically your options. Buy a new computer or update your software. You could try Chrome or I.E but you'll most likely run into the same problems.
 
Just an FYI - I worked for Best Buy in Computers, downloading anti-malware software after you've already gotten a virus isn't going to do much good. You should have had it on BEFORE the virus, hence the protection. Depending on the type, your files may not be salvagable, as in when someone suggest you back up files and do a reset (the virus may have contaminated the files being saved and once transfered to a reset laptop will just do the same damage all over again). You could have someone professionally clean it but it may be most cost effective to scrap the whole thing and buy a new one. Best Buy offers trade in's of all old electronic devices. Take it to Customer Service, see what they will give you for both the desktop & laptop and buy a new one and for the love of all that is holy KEEP YOUR ANTI-VIRUS UP TO DATE. *mutters* windows!

Ugh, I wish they'd make it random the prizes. Everything is messed up anyways so sure, why not make it worse? Should have given us all a meowclops so we had a legit way to getting the avatar. Meepits aren't that spooky.

I should start randomly putting things in there then o.o Would be nice to get a trophy from random nonsense xD

I agree with lianakos, it would be very terrible if something happened to anything (pet/items alike) in the x-fer process. Post-pone as long as needed.
