it was pretty eventful the last few days of the year i would say im voting for the marble draik for best colour category, it's the only one on the list thats made me take a long hard look at my dream pet lineup

that would be great. at the moment i use the different-site-theme trick, but even then im logging in daily to one of my sides to use the lab ray, and there have been a few times where i've accidently visited a np/item daily on the wrong account (because i do my dailies by just opening all the tabs at once and then going through them all.) i would totally take an option to just outright ban any np/item areas on the other accounts. it really doesn't, and that's definitely an area where tnt dropped the ball. the editorial is great and i wouldn't get rid of it, but they definitely need a much clearer rules sections with all of these restrictions on side accounts clearly laid out. it's madness that people have to go offsite for rules! just remember that you can only transfer pets, and items/nps that were originally earned on your main account. if you earned any nps/items on your side account, sadly you can't transfer them over to your main, that would definitely look suspicious. you don't have to delete your account, though, you can just leave it and let it age, as you may have a use for it later for more pets/galleries. sorry we've had to be the bearers of bad news, though.

i dont think that neopets has an official list of all the restrictions on side accounts, which is mildly annoying as there are a lot of little nuances to it. most of what we know about the restrictions of side accounts comes from editorial questions. which isn't super helpful for people who don't read the editorial! but tdn and jellyneo both have articles about the subject. they cover what is allowed and disallowed side accounts, as well as exceptions and grey areas. they're well worth a read: Multiple Accounts and Side Account FAQs i hope tnt doesn't freeze your accounts

yessss! maracite buzz is one of the colours that i've been waiting for, and it's lovely!! (i do agree though that the wings would probably look better without the outline) edit: i got the paintbrush i offered on! so i went ahead and painted doideag! she's my first pet painted in 2021! and the wings actually look very nice when they're on a nonwhite background!

@Secre wow that is quite the list of achievements! not that i'm surprised, seems like every time i visited this forum for the past few months you have a thread with something else crossed off your to-do list! still, congrats, and good luck with all your 2021 goals, especially the avatars. the end of flash is going to be making a large chunk of avatars semi-retired for at least a very long time, possibly forever.

i am loving the little helmets for the ears. makes me wonder if there's some reason that ogrins need those to be see-through. maybe they have eyeballs hidden inside the hair tufts.

i love this steampunk colour. steampunk's one of those colours that has always been way too overdetailed for my taste, so i'm liking this much cleaner design. even if it does kind of go against what steampunk is usually about, which is covering every available surface with gears and widgets. the outfit's cool too. reminds me of those old-fashioned fancy dress outfits.

back in browser doesn't work for me, but im pretty sure that's a firefox problem not a neopets problem. refreshing and then hitting the search button again works find though. according to gutterfoot tnt is aware of the problem though, so hopefully it'll get fixed when they get back. yeah, that's pretty jarring. i'm pretty sure that's going to be a thing until the pages in question are converted over to the new layout.

im fairing pretty well. i already used jellyneo for my dailies. and i only did like, bank interest, trudy's, stock market, food club. i put my pets in the neolodge so feeding them's not really an issue. shop wiz is the biggest problem for me. i tried to track down some pppb's the other day and looking through the search results took sooooo long.

if you press f5 to refresh, it will still take you back to the first page, but it should remember your search terms, so you just have to press the search button again. am using firefox, though, so idk about other browsers. in classic, firefox didn't remember the search field when using the back button, that was only a chrome thing.

yeah i'm have some trouble navigating too, but i'm sure that i'll get the hang of it as i use it more. i don't think it's necessarily ugly, just unfamiliar. my main complaint atm is the sidebar not being opened, but apparently that's coming. and i'm missing my themes, too! i used to use the constellation theme, and while it has been converted.. it's pretty ugly and fuzzy lol, so i switched to the haunted woods theme. it's not quite the same though. tnt did kind of drop the ball on not getting everything at least functional before pushing out the site. like yeah it's a huge project, and they're probably understaffed but at the same time, they've made some.. weird priorities. they should have focused on converting the pages that relied on flash first before doing pages that were just html, and now all the people that spent a ton of money on nc mall items are rightfully mad that they can't actually use them. or idk, maybe they thought that they could get all the flash done before the end of the year and they didn't realise the scope of what was needed. either way, i think everyone's going to be miserable for a while. a lot of people are quitting, but most of them will probably be back eventually. hopefully everything will be a little more functional by then. i'm going to stick around because i'm mostly in it to just chill and write and browse the forums. idk maybe i just have a high tolerance for unfinished stuff. what amazes me is how many people on the forums.. didn't know that classic was going away at the end of the year? (or those who want there to be both a classic site and a mobile site.. like tnt were barely able to maintain one site, i don't think they could manage two.) the rest of the outrage is kind of to be expected, though. it's a pretty big change, and add in everything that's broken, or unreachable without navigating through half a dozen different menus and yeah.. it's not exactly a fun time.

BC went back into lockdown in November. I'm currently isolating b/c im the primary carer for my mother, who has like, 4 or 5 different risk factors. We knew pretty early that any sort of christmas party wasn't going to happen this year. We're just going to stay in, cook something nice for the two of us, and probably spend the afternoon video calling the family. We did decorate for the first time in six years, which has definitely cheered my mum up! She loves having the house decorated for christmas, but we've either been in the process of moving, or too busy for the past several years. Luckily quarantine's left me with plenty of time to get the living room in order. oh god my mum fell for that one. she's always falling for that stuff, and then i have to waste a bunch of time researching and explaining to her Why That's Not A Thing. Just before quarantine it was alkaline water, because some random lady (whose son, totally coincidentally, sells the systems that makes it) told her about it. Didn't bother to look into it herself, and was totally gonna go and spend like $200 on a system to made alkaline water. Which is pointless! Because the stomach wants to be at a very specific acidity no matter what you put into it! And if it somehow gets forced into a different ph you get sick! Yeah, that's the worst of it. Like sure, one person being a little cavalier with their life is a valid choice...when it's something isolated, like doing a risky sport. But with a pandemic, it's never just themselves that they're putting at risk. And usually it's the people that are already decently healthy and less at-risk that have this mindset. It's just...so self-centered. It's the same level of infuriating as the anti-vaxxers. They just... dont understand the concept of herd immunity, and that living in a community means that their actions have an impact on the people around them. .... anyway, here's a picture of our christmas tree for some cheeriness. we couldn't find the angel, so instead we turned one of my mum's jester dolls into a capricious tree gremlin. if you try and open your presents before christmas day he will bite off your fingers, making him objectively the best tree topper.

Could have an area of the profile display all previous names, like on steam? but yes, i, too, would actually be willing to play nc to change my name, although i would definitely take the np option if it was there! it would be a good cash sink. a limit to one username change a month, or something similar could also be a thing. also re: neopets gender, i hope the royal/usuki/etc appearance differences are kept separate (as the pet's gender presentation), with a drop-down menu being gender identity which would affect/override the look-up and pet's pronouns. cause they don't always match up, so it would be a nice way of adding a bit more nuance to your pets!

That's pretty good! And what are neopoints for if not for spending them on fun stuff? That's a lovely farmer custom, I can practically hear the banjos playing! I hope there's some site events too next year, but I'm not going to hold my breath for them, I know there's still so much of the site to convert. It'll be a nice surprise if it does. And it does kinda suck that flash is going away, but security flaws aren't too fun either. So, I've been cleaning up my neopets to-do list and kind of taking stock of what, exactly I've managed to get done this year, and I'm curious to see what everyone else has achieved. New additions to your pet families? New paint jobs? Trophies or avatars? And more importantly, what are you goals for next year? I created and painted quite a few pets this year, but by far the achievement I'm most proud of isn't a pet, it's my multi-pet portfolio. I started dabbling in learning some basic html and css last year, and while I didn't stick with it, I learned enough to manage to adapt a template to my needs. Not much compared to some of the lovely petpages I've seen, but it's suited to my tastes, so I'm still proud of it! It's really nice to see all my pets in one place, and start fleshing out their characters. Their characters are, after all, what made me stick around after the nostalgia rush wore off. As for next year, I want to continue that and hopefully get all my pet's biographies up... and hopefully a few more of them painted, of course! *pokes at the lab ray* So, what about everyone else?

huzzah! very happy to see this. i mean, it's kind of been a semi-accepted thing on the neoboards for a while, anyway. people have had flags in their signatures for ages, and been using metaphors to talk about themselves, with the unspoken understanding that as long as it all stays pg there wouldn't be any icings over it... so might as well make it official, right? i'm also really happy to see that outing other people is forbidden. and yes, i would like more gender options! "Other" is... better than not having a third option, but it is kind of putting us in that literally othering "you are not like us" category but there's also a lot of labels and genders, so i can also see that trying to account of all of them might seem a little daunting. and that's not taking into account that there's a lot of culture-specific genders, too. the best option would probably be a write-in box, i think some other sites do this. the site's spaghetti code might not be able to handle that, though, pretty sure all the other similar fields on the profile are all drop-downs.
