The ray produces a giant flash of light, but Sir Bob of Geraptiku doesn't look any different. When it can't even climb the Multi-level Scratching Post you bought it, you realize that malfunctioning lab ray actually decreased its level to: 2

Yes since I wanted a shot at turning Meldac into a Royal MSP Poogle for fun, but backfired. I have extra Red Poogle MPs saved up just in case. I was at the Rubbish Dump earlier today to help out with clearing junk items to help other Neopians get the That's Not Rubbish avatar if they didn't have it yet, and this happened:
It was the last Secret Lab Map piece I needed for a second complete set, which was brought over to one of my sides (namely DariganUltimatum).

As of December 14th, 2021, the Altador Council Chamber daily is no longer broken (for now). The Kreludor Meteor, Coltzan's Shrine, Money Tree, Second Hand Shoppe, and Rubbish Dump should also be back in working order.
The guy who posted at 12:24 AM NST on this Neoboards thread today also had the Kreludor Meteor work correctly for them, so I'm not alone.
EDIT: There are still some users in the earlier linked thread that are still experiencing a bugged Altador Council Chamber, Kreludor Meteor et al right after that 12:24 AM NST post. Sorry for jumping the gun.

While I don't have any Lab Ray-related blunders myself, I also feel left down to what happened to your Mutant Lupe friend. The closest mistake I've done was accidentally giving a Faerie Quest reward to my Lab Rat instead of my Battledome pet in a similar hurried manner.
No Lupe Transmogrification Potions on the Trading Post? Fear not!
If you have a Rainbow Fountain use acquired from an FFQ that you've never used up, now's your chance. Get any Lupe Morphing Potion for your Bruce and then bring him over to the Rainbow Fountain (if you have an FFQ reward you've yet to use up that is) to reclaim your Mutant Lupe.
