So we've seen in families like the Fairweathers or Sophie and Bruno's family, sometimes the parents are a different species than their offspring! If you scroll down on the main event hub page there's a bar that shows how many points out of 3000 you've gained during Chapter 8. To my knowledge there isn't a weekly cap, just the 3000 total you can get before the next Chapter releases (most are saying 2? weeks or whenever they decide to drop it).
