But I'm soo bad at flash games . . .

I know I can't be alone in this, but ... I really want to up my avatar count.  Most of what I'm missing at this point falls in the game section, I believe.  That's definitely the area I've neglected.

Even after reading guides and practicing for hours, I am awful at flash games.

I've been feeding kads lately, and in the downtime between refreshes, my goal has been to practice a 'simple' avatar game - Mynci Beach Volleyball.  I still can't do well enough to even touch the av req score.  It's kinda disheartening, but I know it's on me to improve.  I don't know.

Just makes the whole account improvement thing seem like a real reach, you know?

I feel ya. Most of the avatars I need are in the game section as well. I suspect you must be at least slightly better than I am at games, because you have the Maths Nightmare avatar and I could only dream of getting that one!

Could you list some of the game avatars you need? Maybe I (or someone else) could give you some advice. If I have any of them, that is. Right away my advice is don't worry too much about Mynci Beach Volleyball for now, that game is evil, lol. There has to be some easier ones you can focus on!

I don't know about better, really.  I do know I greatly enjoyed math.  That game reminds me of the old timed tests we took in elementary school - 50 problems in about 1-2 minutes.

Your account is quite impressive!  And your pets have such intriguing customizations.  I love it!

Um.  Game avatars I still need, sure.  There are tons.  I'll just list 4-5.  Spacerocked!  Snowmuncher, Extreme Potato Counter, Turtum, Volcano Run

I have so few of them.  I think there are over 60 more I need to achieve at some point.

Aww, thank you!  :*

I think you can get Spacerocked!, Snowmuncher and Turtum without *too* much sweat.

  • There's a specific strategy when it comes to Snowmuncher (I don't know if you've come across it). I followed this guide when I got it!
  • Ultimate Bullseye (Turtum) can be annoying, because the arrow-thingy feels rigged, but if you practice enough you'll get a better idea of how much power you need for each shot. You also need to be lucky and get some balloons (I suggest restarting the game if you don't get any balloons by the 3rd or 4th round or if you didn't make any 5-point or 10-point shots by then).
  • Spacerocked! depends a lot on luck, so you just have to keep trying. And make sure you score at least 4000 or so on the first level (if not, restart).

A general tip I have for any avatar game is to look for videos on youtube (a lot of people have game-play videos there). It might not always help, but it doesn't hurt!  :P

Well, there are still many game avatars I need, and I used to feel that way, too. But, I noticed that many of the games come down to luck. Sure, some require some skill, and you can get some of that when you play them over and over, but sometimes it takes that extra bonus, time, etc, at just the right time, to get the avatar score needed. For example, take Spacerocked! Some may disagree, but I don't think there is much skill involved. I would always aim at the same angle and launch the rock at full power. After that, all you can hope for is that your rock hits the good items/boosts and doesn't hit the bad ones. You can use "B" to get the Grundo to hit your rock to avoid a pipe or whatever, but I can't remember how many times I over shot the spaceship at the end. If you keep playing that game long enough, you will eventually get the avatar score. I spent a few hours on a Saturday, doing just that. And you may even surprise yourself by being doubly lucky and getting a trophy! Turtum was the same way, for me. I did find the TDN guide helpful, but that one was luck, too. Oh, and that one has a cheat - catapult. Very helpful. Get the aim and power down (somewhat) and it's a matter of getting the balloons, punchbag Bob/apple to appear and "hitting" them. Some skill, but still a lot of luck. Snowmuncher, Extreme Potato Counter, and Volcano Run are tough. I still need those, but I believe I can get them, if I keep at it. And that is the hard part. I get frustrated and give up. But sometimes you need a break or a change. Switch it up (try new games) and come back, later. Some games may end up being easy for you, but hard for others (Maths Nightmare - I struggle with that one - not fast enough, but, by your post, it seemed easier for you, as you like math). And some you might find easier that you thought - Meepit Vs. Feepit was, for me - Kick, Punch, Kick, Punch or Punch, Kick, Punch, Kick, take the Meepit out for the first two rounds, beat him up to almost take him out, but then let him take you out for the next two rounds, and take him out on the last (5th) round. Repeat the same for rest of the Meepit challengers. If all goes well, you will have enough for the avatar and sore fingers/wrists to boot! Nimmos Pond? Don't move from the center of the pond, EVER! Get the yellow fire power items - they will eventually come to you. Survive 27ish rounds and the avatar should be yours. Sure it may take several tries to get the score, but it will happen. Some games do really work better with a mouse - Advert Attack, Carnival of Terror (still need Carnival of Terror - darn clocks!). So, keep the games in perspective, never give up, take a break when needed, keep positive, and have fun! (I know, easier said than done). The game avatars you get, you will have earned. That is a good feeling. One last thing, if you can Kad, I know you can get game avatars. Kadding is one of the hardest avatars to get, IMHO.

I'm definitely in the same boat! Most of my avatars that I need are games (and stamp album avatars, but I pretend those don't exist) and it's really frustrating.

One of our staffer's recommendations (who has every game avatar, last I knew) is to put the games you need avatars on your favorites and play them for 3 scores a day, when you have the time.

This allows you to get in practice, not just in one or two games, but all of them, and it also gives you more plays in a variety of games, which can come in handy when some avatar scores just require that little bit of luck happening to push you to that point.

That's funny. I did that too. My favorites is filled with the games I need the avatar for. Not as much as to get practice (didn't think of that) but to remember which games I still needed to get that avatar.

But since they are there, you are more easly tempted to try again and you get some practice either way.

Just make sure you read some guides for every game, check if there is an in-game cheatcode and then wait for that lucky moment where your skill and the luck of the game come together.

I am not to great at the games myself.

I only got the Fruit Machine and Pakiko trophies because of crazy luck.

I do not think I have any game avies, except for the Battledome and Altador ones.

Practice makes perfect, as people have said. One of these days, I will concentrate on a game, and hope to get an avie.

Good luck! :)

I've watched them for a few games (one that immediately comes to mind is Chia Bomber 2), and they're sometimes helpful.  Lol.  Other times, it's just confusing how people manage to make their hands/fingers move quickly enough to do the things they're doing.

This is the most hopeful statement.  I think it's going to be hard for me to stop kadding after the avatar.  It's an addicting routine to get into, and there's such an adrenaline rush at refreshes.

(and stamp album avatars, but I pretend those don't exist)

... it also gives you more plays in a variety of games

Uhhh.  They don't exist.  They're a myth like Jelly World, yo.

That's genius.  I usually end up playing a game until I'm burnt out on it (and usually still haven't gotten the avatar D:).  At least that way, I'd diversify.  Like stocks.  Heh.  Now to actually put into effect this desire to do that.

My favorites is filled with the games I need the avatar for.

When you play . . .  Do you play each a certain amount of time before you decide to move on and try another?  I get wrapped up and play the same game for hours without realizing just how long I've been doing it.  I take breaks and stuff; I just don't pay any attention to the clock.

I will concentrate on a game, and hope to get an avie.

Best of luck to you when you decide that's what you want to do!  Your fruit machine trophy is wonderful.  Congrats on getting a wraith poogle, too!  Your lookup reflects how excited you are.

Depends on the game, some of them I really get frustrated or dislike it I'll only play a short while. Just trying to improve my highscore. Others, that I actually like but just haven't managed to get the av score, I'll play a bit longer and try to get at least a decent payout.

The only game I really started to dislike because of the av score is mynci's beach volleyball, but when I try again to get the av score hours will pass, sometimes half the day is gone, thinking THIS time I'll get it and be done with it! Just to fail again...

Korbats lab is one of the games I actually like because it reminds me of the old days playing Break It. Even though the avatar score still eludes me.

(I hope this is a propet English sentence)

Most of the avies that have eluded me are games and stamp related (I'll never get the stamps ones... I've given up on them). I play the games, but I end up rage quitting because they take forever or I get bored very quickly. The ones I've gotten like Kass Basher or Advert Attack have been out of pure luck.

Hmm, I just looked at the "high-score" table for Hannah and the Wardrobe of Adventure, and I saw "fishstick013" in 88th place. Can't be too bad at Flash games if you managed to beat Hannah's score of 10,325, for the "Better Than You" game, and place in the top 100. The bonus levels can be tricky. Mynci Volleyball is still evil, though.

Oh, man!  RIGHT?  That's the one I've actually been putting effort into lately, and it's just so ... crappy that there are 6 levels.  Maybe if the cut-off score was 15 instead of 12 the first few levels, things would be easier.

Apparently, all the other games take luck just as much as skill and practice.  Why are avs so hard?  XD

Maybe I'd be more honest to say most flash games?  :c  I feel like maybe I can do those bonus levels because it's a 'quick' diversion and not the whole game?  I don't know how to explain myself, lol.  Maybe I'm just bad at getting scores for av games?

You guys made me go check how many Game avatars I actually have (31) lol.  I think I've been pretending they don't exist as well since these days I don't have the time nor inclination to master some of these flash games.  What's frustrating is that I had some of these on my old, lost, account and now I can't seem to get a high enough score... gah! One of these days, I'll try them again and hopefully, with a lot of luck and finger cramps, I'll score some avatars. Stay positive and good luck hunting those avatars!   :laughingsmiley:

I thought suteks tomb avatar was impossible.  I am going for the top gamer avatar and I never realized there were "mirror" games.  For those who don't know what those are, use the Top game avatar guide.  Anyway, I didn't realize the avatars were also available for the mirror games.  I was playing sutek's tomb mirror, on hard level as it gives more points, and I used the cheat code plzsutekcanihavemoretime, as well pausing the game and doing a screen shot to look for combos.  I just kept playing over and over again.  Tip:  If you don't have at least 800+ points before using the cheat code, restart the game.  I couldn't believe it, I got 2060 points and got the avatar.  I was shocked.  I didn't think I would ever get that avatar.  I was actually just playing around with the game, starting over and starting over and starting over, until I realized that I had a pretty decent score.  I didn't think I would get the avatar though because I didn't know you could in the mirror game.  It is probably the avatar I am most proud of in addition to my Kad avie and better than you.

So, keep at it.  Eventually you will get the scores you need.
