triadinfinity
I finally hit the milestone I've been reaching for: 1 mil np in the bank. But. It was so draining to get that far, and even now I can't afford to buy what I have my eye on. And it'll take even longer to get that far, and I'm losing interest tbh. So what now? Any suggestions fellow tdners?
jtan93
Um, your 2nd mil? Recommend buying stocks for long term investment (don't have to be actively playing games or restocking). I usually only splurge on rare wearables or pb's when i restock a rare item, which i sell off on the trading post. Congrats on your 1st mil~ spookydana
mtsparky
Congrats on your first million, millions become progressily easier. My first, I got myself a lab map and then a bunch of avatars. Around 2million I upgraded all my battledome equipment and trained a ton. What are your neopet interests?
Aquamentis12
Congrats on reaching your first mil! The first thing I'd recommend, if you haven't already done it, is to Upgrade your bank account. With 1mil in the bank, you can upgrade your bank account (near the bottom of the bank page) which increases your interest level. Which of course means, more free np in interest. ;) The bank upgrades after 1 mil, are at 2mil, 5mil, 7.5mil and the last upgrade is at 10mil. I would suggest, that unless there's something you REALLY need, keep saving and upgrading your bank account! At least until you get to the 10 mil mark and attain the highest bank upgrade. Then do whatever you wanna do with the np. ;) As for earning NP. that really depends on what your strengths in making NP already are. Restocking, gaming, games of chance, stock investments, etc. If there's something you're good at, focus on that, and if you get bored once you've created a routine, you can always try branching out into other areas of earning NP from the site. Once again, congratulations on getting the 1mil milestone! :D
charelan
The first thing I saved for was a baby pb. Since then I wasn't focusing on saving, but would buy stamps and collectibles here and there as I earned np. Now I have 2 mil, I'm saving for the last collectible scarab for my collection... I also really want a transparent pb for my other aisha... I understand what you mean, it takes a long time (for me - I'm not good at any of those things everyone else mentioned to make even more np) and it's not quite as much fun to save as to spend. Fortunately I read someone else's post about earning np playing GhostCatcher, that's helping a little since on days I can play it it really makes a difference. So... I guess that just backs up everyone else's response - it really just depends on what you like!
rowtiderow
Congrats on your 1st Mil! As others have said, start working on the second! I am a saver, so I didn't want to do anything drastic until I had hit the 10 Mil mark. And then I really waited until about 15 Mil to come up with a plan - I had done some training to get ready for the BD, and things like that, but no PBs or anything major. Then I decided I wanted to get my pet to read enough to get a trophy. Which is a huge goal, and I'm not even close to achieving, but it gives me a goal!I was not really into customization, as I prefer just zapping and seeing what I get, so I didn't have any goals as far as that, but I know tons of people do! Just go with what interests you, and you're more likely to enjoy it!
aih_ocelotl
Don't worry, keep playing as you see fit. For now NP themselves can still be the aim, but also customization and goals must be evaluated. ¿What do you want for your account? ¿Do you want to be a battledomer, a heavy player, a helper? Don't hurry up, you'll find whatever mantains you happy at neopets. Congratulations, by the way.
siniri
I'm a natural saver, but even if I weren't, I would recommend saving, saving, saving, because the interest alone will give you more to spend. 12.5% per year of 10M is 1.25M NP! I also second the recommendation to invest in the stock market, if you're not already, even if you have to take from the bank account to do it. Buy at 15, sell at 60. Then set mini-goals. My personal comfort level is to only spend ~10% of my bank account max (and then wait until I reearn it before spending more), unless I have a big goal I'm saving for. My first big savings goal was for a 12M NP paintbrush. I started around 10M, and my goal was to save the full 12M (so my bank account wouldn't go below 10M after the purchase). I set a goal date and used Excel to figure out how much NP I'd need to earn each day -- and also to continuously record my actual earnings per day, and how early I'd hit my goal based on my actual earnings. It was motivating to see my goal draw nearer, and I reached it in about half the time I'd planned. During that time, I still trained and bought my 1k shares of stocks every day (and the stock market was one of the key reasons I hit my goal early, because I made several big sales). Once I reached my goal, I allowed myself to cut back on my activity on the site to just my dailies and what I enjoy for a while. But reaching for the goal helped me explore new ways to earn NP. Some current big, quick NP-earners I'd recommend: Food Club (but read a guide -- most long-term FCers earn 50-100% of their investment, on average, but you can have long losing streaks, and if you don't know what you're doing, you can lose in the long run), stock market, and Ghoul Catchers (replay the easy levels to earn the max per day as quick as possible). Oh, and I guess BD for the prizes, if you have a decent battlepet, and of course the free dailies. rowtiderow
triadinfinity
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. All I really do to earn np is play games and ghoul catchers. I tried stocks, but every one I buy never seems to pass the 0% mark after I buy them at 15%. I don't seem to be good at anything else, and waiting for interest to accumulate takes an extremely long time on neo. But I'll look up some guides for restocking and food club (can anyone send a good one my way?) And I'll try branching out. Maybe I'll hit that two mil faster than the two years it took me to hit the first (/)///(\)
Shane for Wax
Congrats on your first mil. I have almost made it to 10mil. Eventually it gets easier and you will soon be raking in 1k in interest and more and more until you almost don't need to play games anymore to earn np. Also the dailies are always a good thing to keep doing as you never know if you might get something that's worth 1mil or more. Find your niche game wise and keep at it. I would also suggest joining up with the battleground of the obelisk if you haven't yet and hopefully you will join the winning team that gets the bank bribery boon if you're looking for gaining even more interest. Calicowhispers
Yes the grind to making millions seems so boring.. I always played dice a roo and gormball to fill my shop with faerie quest items.. I do it the easy way.. I can usually make about 80k a day playing gormball in my shop.. I am not good at the games on the site so I avoid those, hence why I don't have any of those avatars.. I am still ticked they removed dice a roo.. Plus with as many pages you go through playing gormball you are bound to get a good ssh- I got a morphing potion a few days ago.. I invest daily in the stocks- lol, I took a year off of Neo for RL and came back to about 3 mill in stocks waiting to be cashed out.. Right now it seems the stocks market is flat, I haven't had a good cash out in well over two months which isn't normal because I have about 165k stocks.. Stocks are a game of patience, a serious amount of patience.. It really depends on what you like to do and if you have premium, with the ssw you can do sniping and restocking your own shops- I use to do petpets and codestones before they were a dime a dozen.. Some people do books.. After about 20 mil I decided to start my gallery of bags, and there are some odd ones out there going for 100mil that I just flat our refuse to even try to save for.. I am nearing 10 years old on the site- so I have had some time to accumulate NPs, nothing on this game is fast, reason for it being a sticky site.. ladybug22may
If it feels draining, change your strategy stat!! I will second the recommendation about restocking, but only if you actually find it fun. For me, most things I do on the site for fun bring in at least a trickle of neopoints. I'd rather have slow growth in the bank than burn myself out and quit playing. Personally, I currently get most of my money from stock market investments and selling off the contents of my Safety Deposit Box post packrat. There are lots of options. I tried stocks, but every one I buy never seems to pass the 0% mark after I buy them at 15% I'm assuming you mean after you buy them at 15 np? The stock market is entirely just a waiting game. My current strategy is to buy 1000 shares of a 15 np stock every day. In about two weeks since I started, two of them have hit my sell point of 30 np. While others have plummeted, I'm not worried since I know the market will come back up eventually. In my mind the stock market is like a bank with more variable interest. Hugo_Renfield
It took me years to make it to the 1M mark, but after that it got easier and easier. I would advise that you stick with the stock market. It does require patience, but when your stock does go up, it is so worth it. I've been able to rake in around 50K per day, and I know many users make much more than that. I would also say that if you aren't already doing battledome, that's a good way. It does require some initial investment, but it can pay off. I like to fight the easier ones and sell the codestones I win. Hope you find this helpful... Good luck, I know you can do it! Pirate_neo_em
Fight in the Battledome daily. The prizes have a lot of value. You can sell them in your shop. I use to make 60K a day selling my prizes. When the World Challenges come back, participate in that too. I received most of my paint brushes that way. hrtbrk

Maybe I'll hit that two mil faster than the two years it took me to hit the first (/)///(\) You may be having issues with the stock market because you are using the wrong stat. The % increases/decreases based off of the price you bought the stock. What you want to pay attention to is the 'CURRENT PRICE' column. Buy at 15 nps, sell when it's higher. Ignore the % column because it will be different for everyone, depending on the price you bought your stocks at. Most people wait until the Current Price column is at least 60 before selling, but there are a few people who will sell for lower. If you see a stock that is at 15nps, and you are unsure if it is worth investing in, look here http://www.neodaq.com/reportcard.php?sort=Live. It will give you a grade, which will give an idea of how well that stock pays off/if it's worth investing in. Congrats on the 1 mil. The 2nd will be easier :D

I was really lucky to get a random event for a Darigan Paint Brush and then won a paint brush in the Nerkmid machine, so I ended up hitting 4 mil in one year, but I know how hard it is to save neopoints. I love the games and am pretty good at them, but I understand that It takes time to get good at the games, as I wasn't that good to begin with. I would keep going toward a 2nd mil. The longer you play the easier it is to collect neopoints! Congrats on hitting 1 mil!
azeiah
The best way to invest your NPs would be Food Club! I just came back to Neo recently and made around 9 Million in aroubd 3 months! But that's not only from FoodClub tho ~ Various REs, Games, Ghoul Catchers, A bit of Restocking, Neopets Premium etc. Good Luck! Making NPs is not difficult at all. At least not for me because I NEVER spend my NPs haha! Also you can try Stock Market and Reselling (: I personally don't do both because I'm impatient haha! triadinfinity
Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll keep at it and see if I can't afford that faerie pb I've been after soon.
hrtbrk
Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll keep at it and see if I can't afford that faerie pb I've been after soon. Partially off topic but does the faerie pet you're after having a faerie morphing potion? A good chunk of the faerie morphing potions are close to 1 million nps cheaper than the paint brush. That would help you save :) .Brianna.
triadinfinity
It's the faerie hissi actually, but since it was just released I thought the price would be higher than usual bc of it's newness.
