neeker2
I don't think there's a thread like this (oh gosh I apolgize if there is!) so I thought I'd start one. What piercings do you have, or had? Plan on getting? I myself have my lobes done, left industrial, and auricle (fancy name for 'halfway up the ear cartilage piercing' :laughingsmiley: ). I plan on getting my tragus on both done, triple forward helix on the right, rook on the left, second lobe piercings, and maybe another cartilage ring on both (I don't want overkill). Iffy on getting my vertical labret done; I play clarinet and that would totally take me out of commission Probably even taking it out would leave that little hole for air to escape or something. Yikes.

tuesxo
I have my lobes done (x2) with my first holes stretched to a 00g, and a cartilage piercing on my left ear. I don't really plan on getting anymore piercings due to the fact that I'm in nursing school and it's frowned upon to have more than 2 or 3 piercings at a time with both ears. Even having my ears lobes pierced twice is somewhat unacceptable. Though I do plan on getting a tattoo here in the near future if that counts for anything. Shelley
Growing up my mom never let me get piercings due to the horrible experience she had with her ears. But when I went to college one day I went out and got my ears pierced. I was really good at cleaning them (without over-cleaning), i did everything I was supposed to do, they just refused to heal. they would bleed a lot..and then one day a few months later I woke up and both ears were the size of ping pong balls (well maybe not THAT huge...but it was still pretty bad haha) My friend lent me allergy free earrings that she used in case I was sensitive or something.but after a day or so I put them in after the swelling had gone down a bit and it just aggravated my ears again. I had all these plans to get multiple ear piercing but nope. I'm not dealing with that again haha oh and now I'm on an immune suppressant..so not looking to try again anytime in the near future lol I would love to have at least some sort of piercing though :p
Duskitty
I've got both my earlobes pierced once and don't plan on getting any more piercings, as cool as piercings higher up on my ear would look. I couldn't stand the sudden shock of the instrument piercing my ear again x_x
Ranaki
My ears are pierced, normally, I guess you can say xD I was in a (defensive*) fight in elementary, my hair was tangled in my earring and the person pulled my hair, ripping my left ear a bit. I've not worn earrings in a VERY long time, but the holes won't close on either side so I can get them redone and add more. Tattoo-wise, I have a tribal tiger that I designed myself with flare off to the sides on my lower back (I was unaware of the name for the specific location until AFTER it was done and the artist that did it slapped it right after it was done <.<) I plan for more, but not quite in my budget at the moment xD I was thinking wings, but it's SO over done, as well as dragons. Perhaps another, more pretty, tiger. I was 18 and in "college" (Novelista may recall her board on that one if she ventures this way), a girl's boyfriend/husband figure person did it for me, all free ^__^ took 3 sessions to finish it. Wait until you're old enough and go to an actual piercer instead of getting pierced with a gun. You'll have a way better experience and a way better piercing :D Mouseykins and chelperk

I couldn't stand the sudden shock of the instrument piercing my ear again x_x Might I ask, did you get it done at one of those 'mall stores'? Most of the time, and I hate to say it, the individuals in there are sadly unaware of what they're doing. I myself got my lobes done when I was...10? at Claire's, with a gun. The ladies working decided it would be a GREAT idea to do both at the same time, and the one moved, causing the one hole (left I believe) to be positioned lower than it was supposed to be. It healed up fine though and they can handle dangly earrings (though I'm afraid it'll rip or something one of these days). Either way, don't let it scare you off! If you want a piercing, go for it. All of the tattoo shops around me do piercings (just make sure you call what one you go to beforehand to see if they'd do the piercing/do piercings), and I've been very happy with mine. The people there are trained, know what they're doing, and will ease your doubts! Mouseykins
Guest Sabs
I have both of my lobes pierced, and one cartilage piercing on my right ear. I'd like to get another cartilage piercing for my left ear, and then I'll be done. xD
ineedalifeplease
I have a double lobe on each ear, a midway cartilage on my left ear and an orbital on the right (plus a beautiful tat on my ribs if i might add..) wouldn't get anymore piercings i don't think, i only got the orbital cos my sister was a wuss when she went to get her second lobes done and said i should get something too.... my boyfriend has a nipple piercing though which i HATE with a passion, I think body piercings in general freak me out, belly buttons etc. bleargh. I couldn't stand the sudden shock of the instrument piercing my ear again x_x Duski go to an actual piercing place. They don't use that horrid piercing gun. It's just a needle and you hardly feel it. There's also less scar tissue and faster healing. I have my ears pierced, but hardly ever wear earrings. For some reason they bother me. I also have my tongue and eyebrow pierced and need to get new jewelry for both. If I did get another piercing it would probably be my belly button, but I've been saying that for years so it's doubtful.
Lia Seeya
I have a piercing on each earlobe, but I was so young when I got them that I don't remember anything about how painful it was or not. I've always wanted another piercing on my earlobes, but I've never gotten around to getting one.
agrinwithoutacat
I have two in each earlobe, and so far that's it. I've thought about a cartilage piercing, but I'm still iffy enough to not get it done. I'm also iffy on a belly-button ring, I might want one but I'm still mulling it over. chelperk
I currently have 20-something piercings. I've temporarily retired a couple of them because I'm prego/lazy...those being my septum, navel, and lower lip. I've had them since I was 15/13/14 and now I'm 24 so I doubt they'll close. The rest of my piercings are all in my ears besides the nostril and medusa that I still wear. I'd describe them all but posting photos later would be much easier. :)
Duskitty
I was told the needle hurts more, but I've never had experience with the needle so I guess I was told incorrectly? @_@ I may get a piercing higher up on my ear when I'm older - question for those who have the actual cartilage of their ears pierced as well as their earlobes: was it more difficult/painful to get the cartilage pierced? (I know, I'm a huge wuss, but I don't want to do the whole mall piercing thing all over again.)
Saxen
I love piercings! I currently have my lobes (stretched; one currently at 7mm the other at 4 - plan to go to about an inch), tragus, lip (vertical) and side (but I don't wear that anymore, keep it open just in case though), tongue, nose, belly twice (top and bottom), and left nipple (vertical). In the past I also had my anti-eyebrow, lip (middle), and sternum. Piercings I'm planning on getting are my other nostil, double tongue piercings (gonna take the other one out), and my smiley. I also want to get dahlia piercings but I don't think the type of jobs I go for will allow those :( chelperk
Anime
My ears are triple pierced, with all three going up the lobe from the low point to roughly where the cartridge meets the fleshy part of my ear. One of the top ones clipped it when I got it pierced, actually, so it healed a little differently than the one that didn't. It was a bit weird but not detrimental. I've had the bottom most set since I was 4 or 5, the middle set since I was 13, and I got the top ones done a little more than a year ago (I turn 22 next week, for reference). My bottom set I've never had any issues with despite being done at Claires. The middle ones, however, they put on too tight so it tried to heal over one of the earrings. My mom had to pull it out the back and re-do it. The piercing healed fine after that but there's a scar around that one so I can't wear small studs in it- they sink further than they should or show the scarring. They also didn't make them quite even so while one side is beautifully spaced the other is too low and looks off. The top ones I insisted on getting done at a tattoo parlor, since it's much safer and that set is so close to the cartridge. They had basically no issues, and actually healed ahead of schedule. I have all the piercings I want. I'm not interested in getting any other part of my body pierced, and have no real desire for a full cartridge piercing. If I ever got another one it'd be continuing the line up the side of my ear, but the next point I'd go with to space them properly would be on the crease of my ear and would probably be a massive pain to take care of so I'm just not going to. Also the proper needle piercing didn't really hurt much. It also gave me peace of mind since they use one-use sterile needles and not a weird, uncleanlable gun that's been on who knows how many ears they rams questionably sterile studs into your ears and leaves them without addressing the blood (fresh piercings bleed, fact of life, they're basically open wounds that you jam a bit of metal into to keep from healing over so it heals around them). nabisonyeo
I have both my ear lobes pierced at a mall shop as a celebration after exams, had a ton of trouble with it though :/ My left lobe piercing got infected and that earring sort of 'sunk in' because it was too small, it was a traumatising experience I do not want to repeat ever again. I took out the earring and left it to heal for a week or so and went to pierce it again... at the same mall shop. I think my ears are naturally sensitive and they got infect once again... had to buy white gold piercing for them. I still have problems with them once in a while when my hair gets tangled, and they never seem to be healing ;___; I'm actually considering letting the hole close and go get a professional piercing at the doctors. I would really like a tragus piercing though! I learnt my lesson though, so if I ever get them done I would find a professional to do it. There isn't any other place that I would like a piercing in though haha :D Gun piercings are actually not that painful, it's as if someone stapled your ears haha (as painful as that sounds, it's really not) :P
agrinwithoutacat
Both sets of piercings I have were done with a gun, and I luckily had no troubles with them. I barely felt them, either. The noise was more of a shock than anything. I got my first set when I was 6, and I remember another girl in the shop watching and saying she was surprised that all I said was "ow". She had cried when she got hers done, apparently. I have a decent pain tolerance, though. I also hardly felt my tattoo; it was more irritating than painful. I definitely would get any future piercings done at a reputable tattoo/piercing shop though, and if I have daughters who want their ears pierced that's where I'm taking them. I have heard horror stories before and no longer trust the guns as much as I trust a straight up needle. I think only lobe piercings can be done with the gun, though, and I don't plan to get more of those as I have tiny ears and it wouldn't fit. So, I'd have to go to a proper shop to do any future ones anyway.

(I know, I'm a huge wuss, but I don't want to do the whole mall piercing thing all over again.) My auricle was probably a 3- sharp, annoying. Then it was done, and I even was facing the mirror thing so I watched the guy do it. Less than 30 seconds to pierce. It was done with a CBR, and honestly I can say the piercer clamping it shut hurt more than the piercing (same with the industrial). However, my industrial (two holes, bar) was a 5.5-6. The first hole, honestly, I think hurt more (as the upper part of the ear closer to the head has more of a thickness) and it took a little longer. Then I had to sit up, shift, and lay back down. The second one was quicker. The thing that really hurt with this was the screwing on of the balls/insertion of the bar. It was really sensitive and uncomfortable for the second hole; couldn't feel the bar really that much in the first hole. I just wanted it to be over, LOL. I don't consider myself having a 'high pain threshold' either, so I was surprised as was my mother when I just laid there silently and took the needle. Let me say this-after you get an industrial, you no longer feel bloodwork/shots :laughingsmiley: Apparently, the higher you go up on the ear the more it hurts? Not too sure if I can agree with that. Just don't have any fear when you get it, that'll make your brain think 'this is gonna hurt so bad!' and it will. Duskitty
Spritzie
I have 3 sets in my ear lobes though I only wear earrings in 2. (I've had the 3rd set so long, it hasn't closed even though I haven't had earrings in them years.) I have 2 sets in my cartilage. I've had 3 sets, but let one close. I've done all of my cartilage piercings with the piercing gun and I haven't had any issues. I keep small gold hoops in them, so maybe that makes them less likely to get irritated and makes them heal easier and quicker. I'm a wimp when it comes to pain, but I didn't find the cartilage piercings that painful, even with the piercing gun. chelperk
rachiee
at the moment, i only have my earlobes pierced, but one day i'd like to get more lobe piercings (my ultimate goal is to have piercings all the way from the lobes up to the cartilage), an industrial piercing, a nose piercing (on both sides, hopefully), and a belly button piercing. the only things keeping me from getting more piercings are the facts that i'm a total wuss, i'm scared to ask permission from my parents (though i'll be turning 18 in about a year and a half, so i can always wait until then), getting piercings/jewelry is expensive, and finding a reliable, trustworthy place can be kinda hard. Naamah D.
I have just basic earlobe piercings. I tried to gauge my ears, but the barbell got caught on my hair in the shower. I tried to pierce a second set in my ears all by myself, but that didn't go as planned. I had my nose pierced and I did everything the person who pierced it told me, but the thing still got infected. I also have very oily skin so that didn't help. I really don't like the way piercings look on me. In my opinion piercings look best on people who have the right facial features for them. I love septum piercings on guys! I also love guys with tragus piercings.
chelperk
Here is my ear! My other one is the same but instead of the daith and upper cartilage, I have an industrial instead. I used to have more ear piercings but they closed while I was in the military for 3 years. P.S. For those with questions: http://www.safepiercing.org/ is a great resource! kitkatlw
I want to get an industrial bar, but my roommate has attempted to get hers done twice and each time it was done incorrectly, so she had to let the holes close. Does anyone have any advice for getting it done correctly?
