That's true that they can't make an event in such a short amount of time, but there's a good chance that they've been planning the sale for a while and have been making the even for the sale as well. The machine uses a portal to go back in time, which his daughter uses to alter history to make her answers the correct ones. They live together on a mountain. So Lutari Professor Sparks could be talking about his time machine and it's portal. Alternatively it could be Dr. Brain, whose games use "Portal Paths" and a time machine. Maybe if we wait around, they'll go back to normal again! Meanwhile, we have heard reports of garbled messages being discovered around Neopia. They couldn't possibly be related, can they? ^From news.
