Ashbash Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Thanks Spritzie! Yeah my computer is new as well. I thought maybe my internet at school was just slower than at home but now that others have mentioned it, I realized it does seem to only work slower with neo, not other sites. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I'm at work, so I have a very high speed connection and basic pages take awhile to load. Quote
complicatedwishes Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I've never seen Friends - what's it about? I'm shocked someone has not seen Friends. Although I am a hugeeee Friends fan. The series revolves around a group of friends in Manhattan. Here's a summary of Season 1 I found on Wikipedia. Season 1 Main article: Friends (season 1) The first season introduces the six main characters: Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross. Rachel arrives at Central Perk after running away from her wedding to her fiancé Barry and moves into her best friend from high school's (Monica’s) apartment with her. Ross, who had a crush on Rachel since high school, constantly tries to tell Rachel that he loves her, while his lesbian ex-wife, Carol, is expecting his baby. Joey is shown to be a bachelor and struggling actor, while Phoebe works as a masseuse. Chandler breaks up with girlfriend Janice (Maggie Wheeler), who frequently returns in later seasons. At the end of the season, Chandler accidentally reveals that Ross loves Rachel, who realizes that she feels the same way. The season ends with Rachel waiting at the airport for Ross’ arrival from a trip. By the way, anyone who still watches FRIENDS on Comedy Central, have you noticed extra bits you'd never seen before? E4 here in the UK seemed to have cut certain bits out of most episodes, not because of rudeness but I'm guessing just because they needed to fit the episode into their time slots. I've seen so many bits now that I'd never seen before in certain episodes! Quote
candy_pals_134 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I love the show friends! It's definitely one of my favorite 90's shows. All the characters are really funny and unique. You won't regret watching it. Quote
Ashbash Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I've never seen Friends - what's it about? Sorry I just saw this now. I'm glad Lou was able to give a good explanation though because mine would've been terrible lol. The show is really great though and I'd definitely recommend it to just about everyone. Quote
khaos Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Haha, I like Friends. I don't watch it regularly, but it's a good show none-the-less. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I didn't start watching Friends until it was at the point where they aired reruns every week day night. I only watched it here and there though. I only started watching regularly towards the end. Then I watched the one spin-off, Joey for awhile, but couldn't stay interested. Quote
khaos Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 There's a spin-off? O.o Never knew. Other shows somewhat similar to that like My Wife and Kids and That 70s Show are some of my favorite shows. 70s show is mainly for comedy, but MWaK is just spazzy and funny. :P Quote
Spritzie Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 There was from 2004-2006. It followed the character, Joey, to LA, where he moved to pursue his acting career. It was hard to get into because I believe he was the only original Friends character you saw. (At least when I was watching. One may have appeared after I stopped watching.) Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 My favorite shows are Doctor Who (Go Nerds! W00t!), The Big Bang Theory, and Jeopardy. And odd array of shows, I know. Quote
Ashbash Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I checked out the Joey spin off as well but could never really get into it. My favorite show ever is Gilmore Girls. I love way too many shows though. Quote
rachiee Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I only watch two shows regularly- Degrassi and Supernatural. Sometimes I watch cartoons, food-related shows and awful reality shows if I'm bored though. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Even Matt LaBlanc said he wasn't really happy with the way the series turned out, and that it should have been better. It just wasn't the same with only the one previous character. I don't even watch TV anymore. I don't think I've watched a show in a couple years, other than past seasons on DVD. I really need to catch up on my favorites like Criminal Minds and The Mentalist. When I get brave enough, I'll finish Numb3rs, but I quit watching when I found out it was being canceled and haven't wanted to deal with the end. Quote
khaos Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I watch a vast variety of shows, just not so much time. xD Degrassi My Little Pony Beyblade: Metal Masters/Fury I watch others on my own free time but those are the ones I watch like everything of. For example, I watch other stuff, but those are the ones I always record and watch a full marathon of and stuff. :3 Quote
candy_pals_134 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 My favorite shows are Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, and Avatar : The Last Airbender (: Quote
passiflora Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Criminal Minds Woohoo! :D I'm not big into TV shows and usually just watch sports on TV. The only other series I'm truly obsessed with is Breaking Bad - the absolute best show I've ever seen, hands down! :O Quote
The Charismatic Enigma Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I have been so obsessed with Criminal Minds lately, so much that I've watched it on A&E every time it's been on for the past week (1-3 PM). Friends, My Wife and Kids, and Avatar: The Last Airbender are three of my favorite shows that have been mentioned so far. I used to watch Nick @ Nite all the time a few years ago, when they were doing reruns of the Cosby Show and Full House (another two shows that I love). I just have too many shows that I like :P Quote
Lucas Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 OH MY GODDD I LOVE CRIMINAL MINDS. The latest repeats on TV ive seen. I want an episode i havent seen yet D: Quote
frescort Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 MUFFINS!!! :woot: They totally rock! Who agrees? Oh yes but now I really want a muffin but it's 9:30 Quote
gingerew Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I checked out the Joey spin off as well but could never really get into it. My favorite show ever is Gilmore Girls. I love way too many shows though. Gilmore GIrls is also my favourite show!! I own every season and my DVDs are literally worn out from watching them so many times. I couldn't even count how many times I've seen them, I lost track ages ago. I'm so pumped to meet a fellow GG fangirl :) Quote
Haliaetus Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 My favorite show is Bones. It's one of the few shows I actually remember to watch when new episodes air. :P Quote
Tedhaun Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I don't watch a lot of live action, sorry. :( Only things live action I enjoy are The Weather Channel, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, The Red Green Show, All That, and a few others. Most of the shows I do watch are either some old 80s, 90s, 2000s cartoons or various animes. I know, I feel more like a cartoon character for liking mostly animated series and stuff. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 *Comes in* To those who care, that is the epic new trailer of Doctor Who Season 7. And it is very epic. Hope someone else likes it. :) Quote
complicatedwishes Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 My favorite show is Bones. It's one of the few shows I actually remember to watch when new episodes air. :P Bones is absolutely awesome! I had to unlike it on Facebook because they kept giving away storylines from the episodes showing in the US, when the UK is way behind. Quote
Tedhaun Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Let me know when Doctor Who Season 7 comes to BBC America, I may give it a watch or two. I really don't watch much TV these days since I'm on here at TDN a lot. Quote
