I didn't like the Ponderosas in the US as much, simply because I was used to the Canadian Ponderosa and the change just didn't work for me.

Edit: I really like Golden Corrals too!

I didn't even know Ponderosa was still around. I guess I just assumed it went out of business or something.

We have 2 or 3 Golden Corrals here. I very rarely go to buffets, and when I do, it's generally a Chinese buffet.

I don't really eat chinese food but for some reason I really like chinese buffets. They always have really good American food. And I do like chinese rice. There's a sushi buffet near my school as well but I've never had sushi so I don't know if I would like it.

@Spritzie: None are still around where I am, and I don't think any at all are.

I like Chinese Buffets, just as long as it's Americanized Chinese Food. I have a friend who's part Chinese, and I think she takes great joy in describing the traditional Chinese food to me in great detail.

There are definitely still Ponderosa's. There are 2 pretty close to my house and I believe the one near my cousins house in NY is still open. It's pretty much the only restaurant they have in their small town lol.

I live in Canada, the land of the Beaver, where Polar Bear roam free, we live in Igloos, and play hockey all day.

...Or just Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Lol cool. I've sort of been to Canada. I was only at Niagra Falls though for a short time.

I just got back from Old Country Buffet and I'm pretty sure I'm never going to eat again. I'm so full but the shrimp they had for dinner was amazing.

Has anyone realized that this topic alone contains more than half the posts made in the entire General Chat topic?

Don't cry! I actually think this place is still pretty active compare to others. It might not be quite what it's used to but it's still pretty good.

Anyone have anything interesting planned for the weekend?

For me, not much. I went to recycle some of those cans that were piling up at home and took them in to my local Stop & Shop to turn them in for profit. Plus my mom's going to a business trip to Washington DC, I hope she says hi to Obama (and @Alberto of Meridell) for me!

Haha if there isn't a rule, there should be. I plan on cooking tonight, well sort of. Not from scratch or anything but I bought one of those Velveeta Skillets to try. I'm pretty excited about it, hopefully it's as good as their macaroni.
