xLaura Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 i hated the sound of my alarm clock so much now whenever i set it i naturally wake up about half an hour before it goes off...sort of..more like i wake up about once an hour thinking DID I MISS THE ALARM..then look at the clock and think "just sleep until the alarm." but it never happens =/ Quote
Spritzie Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 :laughingsmiley: I'm the exact same way. I dread waking to the alarm so much, that body starts making me up either right before it goes off with just enough time to turn it off, or I start waking every 15-30 minutes up until it's about to go off, when I just shut it off and get up. Quote
Unstream Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Wow, 7? And I thought my school was bad x_x Haha yeah, I hate when that happens. I wake up thinking I missed the alarm when I didn't, and then I'm too panicked to actually go back to sleep :laughingsmiley: Quote
Spritzie Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I've never been much of a morning person, so HS was a nightmare for me. It was still rough in the beginning, just having to be there at 7:45. But I was spoiled, when I was 6, there were 2 kindergarten classes, AM and PM. I got PM. Then grade school didn't start until 9:15. I think middle school was 8 or 8:30. Quote
Wembly Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Yeah, my high school started at like 710 or something weird like that. The bus came at around 620. When I got a car we left at like 640 which I am very thankful I no longer have to do. It is incredibly hard to focus while driving that early, well maybe just for me who hates driving anyway. Quote
ThisIsJ Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Ooh I do not miss getting up for classes. Used to have to be out the door and in the car by 7:30 in order to make it to my 8:15 classes. Now, even getting up ay 8 to get to work for 9 is hard. I'm a total night person, and I always have been...so I'm not sure how I ever did that lol. Quote
Manta Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'm a total night person, and I always have been...so I'm not sure how I ever did that lol. i've found that my sleep cycle has shifted definitely towards the staying up all night side of things...it's weird xD I could never stay up past 11pm a year ago, and now i'm hitting 3-4am no problem :P Anybody else find this is the case? :D Quote
livvy Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 If I were left to my own devices, I would probably be about five hours off from the expected sleep cycle. I'd go to bed at 3-4 AM, and wake up 11-noon. I just do my best thinking in the twilight hours. Mornings are just a waste of awakeness for me. Quote
Spritzie Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 i've found that my sleep cycle has shifted definitely towards the staying up all night side of things...it's weird xD I could never stay up past 11pm a year ago, and now i'm hitting 3-4am no problem :P Anybody else find this is the case? :D I did the opposite. I used to be a total night person, I'd stay up until 5-7am, then sleep later into the day. Then, it was so I could never sleep if I went to bed before 10-11. (Which was annoying when I had to be up by 7 for work.) And now, I'm so tired from work, I often fall asleep if I lay down when I get home at 7:30. :laughingsmiley: My husband is a night person though. Often he can't sleep, so I go to bed and he either lays and reads with flashlight, or stays in the dining room with his computer until 4-6am or not sleeping at all. He got lucky though... my company just offered him a night shift job, so he'll get to stay up at night at work, and sleeping during the day (while I'm at work) just how he likes to. Quote
Unstream Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'm definitely a night guy, though I'd probably sleep from 1 or so until 9 or so. 3 or 4 gets a bit too late to still be as productive :P Quote
Iona Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Hello everyone, I joined during summer last year but wasn't around for long because of school etc. I'm back for a while so will be around, ready to chat and such! Well, actually off right now to watch TV with my family. See ya'll around. :) Quote
Tyler. Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I. Hate. Mornings Nights are when I have my energy Quote
Masaryk Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I am absolutely a night person. Unfortunately, work tends to force me to be awake during the day. This just results in me getting less sleep, since I still have trouble falling asleep before 1 am, even when I have to wake up at 5. Quote
Tedhaun Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I. Hate. Mornings Nights are when I have my energy Tyler, you and I share the same exact thought. I spite being active in the day (in America anyway), I'm more active when the sun is shining on the other half of the world (where my friend Ri-chan/Hime/Kohaku lives). I only take afternoon naps so I can be active at night. :P Quote
Iona Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I too am very much a night person. Right now it is 01:30AM and I have no intention of sleeping within the next couple of hours. So the result will probably be me sleeping until the afternoon to make up for it, which I can only do because I'm on holiday. EDIT: Okay, it is almost 04:00AM, off to attempt sleep. Quote
Spritzie Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I was exhausted tonight (long day of running around) but by the time I tried to go to bed, I was too awake. So I'm back up on Neopets now. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I'd have too say I'm a morning person, mostly because I have to go to bed at 9:00. :( Quote
Spritzie Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Mornings are nice if the house is quiet, but not too early. 8am is good. 5-8 is too early. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 That's different from me. I'm often up at 6:00-6:30AM. Quote
Iona Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Haha, 6am I only manage if I have a cold shower to wake me up. Quote
Spritzie Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 On work days, 4 days a week, I'm up at 5:30. Then I try to sleep in on days I'm off work, but it doesn't work very well. Quote
Manta Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 blurgh I don't think i woke up for my alarm once this week...it's been like a half an hour early every day and i keep being like "geh well it doesn't make sense to go back to sleep..." so I'm really sleep deficient at least tomorrow is the weekend :P anybody have any awesome friday plans? :D Quote
Iona Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I have no plans, except from having another lazy day at home. I'll end up on my laptop for the whole day but I've not much else to do apart from homework, which I'm avoiding. Yourself? Quote
jumpingbeans Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Well, since I'm on my two-week 'March Break' right now, I'm just staying at home, at the computer. b) Quote
Iona Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Huh, it's not March yet? >.> I'm on half term holiday so I've had this week off and go back to school next Wednesday. Quote
