Divya Bean Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Oboes are awesome Divya. I don't think we had one in any of my band classes over the years though. Reeds. That was the biggest change from flute to sax. I always hated dealing with the reeds. Plus, for some reason, I had to get slightly more expensive reeds for them to work right. Agreed. ;) I am the first oboe my band teacher has had in 5 years. o_O Sax reeds are expensive? Oboe reeds are $18 apiece! Quote
livvy Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I play my vocal chords. :D They're very inexpensive. Quote
Spritzie Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 :P I'm not the singing type. I enjoy it in the car, when no one's around. That's it. Not overly expensive, but I had to get ones that were $1-3 more, per reed, than the ones most sax players used. They just worked better. Quote
antiaircraft Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Oh dear. I drop in here after missing seven pages or so and we're not discussing food at all? Even with our brand new :yum: smiley? :P Quote
Spritzie Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Nope, Theo. No food discussions. Not even any weather discussions. Weird, huh? Quote
-Ryan Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Maybe we should start one? So my morning just got off to a weird start. You know how most neighborhoods have cats that climb walltops and stuff? Well our neighborhood has a dog that does that and I just took it home after it stalked me while I was bringing in the garbage bin. This is the second time i've taken it back to where it lives this week. xD Quote
Spritzie Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Weather discussions would be okay. Though I have to say... the weather here has been mild recently. The closest to anything dramatic we got, was rain last night. Quote
-Ryan Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Really? I think we had a microburst where I live yesterday. The rain was just plain scary. Wind too. Now it's quiet and overcast out so i'll probably go outside later. This is my favourite kind of weather. Quote
Spritzie Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I think I read about that in the news. We're supposed to get snow, but it hasn't gotten cold enough yet, so it's just been rain in the evening. Quote
-Ryan Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Yup. Gave me an excuse to stay home playing Madden and watching Boy Meets World all day. Eric married a moose. Well, in that case, me and Tyler will be seeing you in a few hours with a flatbed truck and some shovels. -nodnod- Quote
Spritzie Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 :laughingsmiley: I'm really hoping there's no snow. I'm so tired of it. And I'm tired of the cold. Quote
-Ryan Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 And i'm dying for snow. I heard it snowed a bit here a few weeks ago though. Of course I was at my grandparents house during this... xD Anyway, wanna switch states? :P Quote
Spritzie Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Sure. I'll switch. I'd love some warmth most of the year. Quote
-Ryan Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Okay. so long as OneRepublic and The Fray are still in Colorado while i'm there. :P Quote
Spritzie Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 A good point! I really need to make a point to go see both. I've seen OneRepublic when they were at the Mile High Music Festival a couple years ago. Quote
Iona Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 OneRepublic are really good <3 The weather here is really cold. But I don't think we're getting anymore snow. We had more this winter than we've ever had :O Quote
Tyler. Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 It's been so weird here it was pouring yesterday, woke up to clear skies today, and now it's cloudy again Quote
Spritzie Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 It's been super windy today, that's about it. We are supposed to get some snow showers this evening. Quote
Tyler. Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 it's gonna rain on and off this week, not surprising Quote
Wembly Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 We had 60+ mph winds yesterday and the day before. It was really intense. I almost got literally blown over by a gust of wind when I was at the beach. Its super annoying to drive in that wind too. Oh and its so loud to try to sleep with everything blowing around. Glad that's stopping. Quote
-Ryan Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 @Earlier: I love the live version they did of Secrets at Denver University. Look it up. -nodnod- Quote
antiaircraft Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Been seeing the usual Malaysian weather over here. Hot. Wet. Sometimes hotter and wetter. Quote
Rose_682 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Early spring forcasted in our area.... by the ground hog. But they expect snow on Monday and Tuesday. Go figure :P Quote

Spritzie Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 It much colder this morning. It's 34 degrees right now. Yesterday at this time, it was in the higher 40s. I'm beyond ready for summer. <_< Quote
