You ever have those avvies where you just KNOW Neo is trolling you, just because it can?   So I did the math on my items, filled up my inventory with stuff last night, refreshed at least 20x, no avatar...
Tried again this morning, no avatar...
I came back to it later, refreshed at least 20x, no avatar...
Sat down just now, refreshed several times and figured "well I better go on and do my dailies before I forget"
Clicked inventory after i finished in the battledome to look at my loot for today... BOOM. AVATAR.

I didn't finish it either. It was one of the first major site events I encountered after starting to play Neopets in college, and I remember wanting so badly to complete each and every step, and then basically dying in the 1000 door tomb.

That plot killed me, drove me nuts and I lost the will to live and didn't/couldn't finish it, lol. People got frozen for using guides, too. ? I wish I could remember the details, but I just remember that one of the ladies in the guild I was in had it happen to her. Seems a pretty unreasonable thing for TNT to do, but... ?‍♀️

Note to other avvie seekers... this is one where you can kill two birds with one stone... you have to use a transmog potion anyway to get the first avatar, and the kacheek transmog is one of the cheaper ones out there, so it can set you up for the beach avvie as well.

I've got them too. I started tracking them as I was doing dailies and I've found 13 so far. Some are round and some are ovals. They all link to the new Brightvale map and I'm assuming it's some sort of a mini game, but I wonder if it's not fully active yet? The little Kacheek on the Brightvale map page who apparently "cast a spell" that caused the portals says one of three things every time I follow a portal back to him. Since the conversation is not progressive, I'm thinking maybe the game isn't live yet but the portals are out there to get people interested. (Or JS accidentally released only part of the game, lol)
OR.... maybe there are a certain number and you have to find them all to trigger the game start? Hmmmmmmm....

And um, nope, even if I hadn't had to go in to work I don't think I would have waded into the NeoBoards to check out the theories... amusing as that can be sometimes, I have found that I usually don't have the patience for the regular boards on the day that events and things start. I much prefer it here... snarky and creative, but not insane ? 

The real question here is, are you now going to investigate the WTF (what the Fyora ) that's undoubtedly being hypothesised on the boards?! ?

Okay well maybe not Snails, but potentially worse?!? I just went over to JellyNeo for a price comparison and saw this on their front page:

Apparently Neopets is running a week of contests on their social media pages this week (I don't follow Neo on FB and I don't have twitter or insta so I didn't know anything about this, perhaps if you do you're already having a laugh about this). But, YEAH. Can I just say, they either have an enormous sense of humor or an incredible level of naivety? Or both, I guess. I just find it HILARIOUS that after the AC trophy snafu this year, the very first contest they run in what is advertised as a week of social media contests is "Create your own trophy". Guess this is why they are running this on social and not on the actual site, I can only imagine some of the suggestions they will receive! ?
Once I stop imagining inappropriate things and giggling uncontrollably, I will have to see if I have time to make something for this though, as I would LOVE to get my hands on one of the item codes from ComicCon. What do you guys think? Worth it if I can keep a straight face long enough to do the work?

I have been meaning to get this one forever but I always forget to go play at the beginning of the month when the score tables reset. I haven't mastered the scores needed for most of the game avvies yet but since this one is "top 50" I actually stood a chance ?
