NQ is such a great game because you can do it at your own pace and take as many breaks as you like. You could at least start a game and see if you get anywhere... ?

Oh okay. I briefly remember NQI then from back in the day! I dont think I actually played it. I just remember the white lupe. Well great! I would like to start that after completing NQII. You've convinced me with simplicity. 

The gameplay itself is similar -- it's a turn-based RPG, and you navigate around the map and fight enemies one click at a time. However, NQI is a much smaller world and a much simpler story. There's only one main character (called by your pet's name, even though it's always a White Lupe), you only ever fight one enemy at a time, and instead of buying potions/weapons/armor you have to wait for enemies to drop them (or drop the components you need to make them). Those are the biggest differences to me. 
I played NQII first, and then when I played NQI after that, I thought NQI was incredibly boring and tedious in comparison. However, after playing it the second time, I don't think that as much. It's definitely a more basic game, but now that I know what to expect from it, it's a lot easier to manage my expectations. 

I'm really hoping for the book, couple of days to go yet though! *fingers crossed*

Congrats on beating NQ1 on EVIL @kayahtik! I still have to do that... I haven't played NQ1 in YEARS. I liked the idea of music for the battles, but that COULD be an issue, slow things down perhaps? Just wondering why no music in NQ2. ?
Personally, I WOULD LOVE to see an NQ3. When NQ2 was still relatively new, and I had beaten it on Normal, then went into EVIL Difficulty. I started thinking up how much fun it would be if only I could contribute some ideas for an NQ3. I'm sure I've forgotten some of it, but I had a great (imho) way to pitch a new character and how they meet up with a/the character(s) from NQ2. I mean I CAN'T be the only one who has beaten NQ2 and wanted to know more about that mysterious storyline they show at the end!
I've never done game map design before, like pro, just tinkered with designing some on paper.. I did design a few levels for a game idea I had once, just sketched out with item and enemy placements, for fun a number of years go. ? It was also not the same type of game idea as NQ has been.
But I certainly wouldn't mind roughing out some maps or something if TNT thought my idea(s) had potential. UNfortunately, I'm sure they COULDN'T accept my idea(s).  Not officially, because I don't work for 'em. And last I checked they require you to be able to physically get to their HQ to work for them. So unless there's a random contest for it looking for new game ideas, not likely, my ideas for NQ3 shall remain locked in my skull.

Alright guys, I'm ALMOST finished with NQI on Evil difficulty. I'm level 50 and at the stairs before Jahbal's level. I've been circling around the stairs, fighting more monsters to try and max out my spirit healing potions -- I currently have 9 out of a max of 10. But I've fought (what feels like) at least 50 monsters without getting any drops, so two questions: 
1. Is there something I don't know about where you don't get drops past level 50? Or am I just really unlucky? 
2. Do you think it's safe to go ahead and fight Jahbal (and Mastermind after him) with only 9 spirit potions (plus 15 greater and 15 superior potions, and a mix of lower level ones)? I'm slowly using up my lower level potions from fighting these guys to get the spirit potions, which seems kind of counter-productive...
EDIT: My impatience got the better of me and I went for it. I beat both of them! No problem really...Jahbal got me down to 40hp once, but I only used 5/9 of the spirit potions I had, and a handful of the others.

I just noticed this myself. I guess the species change will be nice for people who want to change their pets, although I can't see myself using it at all. 
However, this journal looks completely pointless, and I can't help but feel infantalized yet again by TNT... 

My apartment has been beset with houseflies this summer, thanks to my landlord not bothering to put screens on the windows. Josie LOVES chasing them, and eating them after she catches them...ew. But it prevents me from having to run around with the flyswatter like a crazy person. 
I hate all bugs, but ESPECIALLY those that jump or fly. My absolute worst nightmare? The grasshopper, which does both. Have you seen their faces??? They are EVIL. 
Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I am terrified of (most) bugs, rather than hate them. I'm so scared of them that I often can't get close enough to kill them. I just wait for them to go back to whatever dark hole they came from, and then lay awake at night wondering when I'm going to be eaten. 
Something that I simply cannot bear to let live, however, is the infamous NYC cockroach. No matter how clean and meticulous you are, you're always going to have a run-in with one or two, and that's never pleasant...and they are VERY hard to kill. A whack with a slipper definitely will not do the job! We also get these things called 'house cockroaches,' which aren't actually cockroaches, but they have ENTIRELY too many legs and are WAY too fast!!! Those things freak me the heck out.

I equipped a TT to my pet, who already had a healing item equipped, with no trouble. So it may be conflicting with a freeze item, if you have one, or one of your other weapons may be confused as a freeze item somehow. But the conflict doesn't seem to be with a healing item, at least when I did it.

Oh my god, my heart was racing and my hands were shaking so badly (still are, lol) but I died at EXACTLY 250 points.
