Hey Pirate_neo_em! Thanks for your dedication to KI so far this cup!

Neopets has a rank calculator on the AC home page. Just click on the shield and then you can select each rank to see how many more of each game you need to achieve that rank.

Let me know if you still have troubles/ can't find it.

-midnight_spell360 no worries we had your back yesterday ;) haha and awesome job getting to rank 14!

Hello and welcome to The Daily Neopets' Daily Report on The Altador Cup! I'm Miko live from the Slushie House! It is a relatively quiet day today, but still there were some surprises in store today, so let's jump straight to the brackets.

In the Alabriss Bracket, Brightvale continued their domination as they trampled Mystery Island underfoot. There goes the Natives' Yooyuball streak, but they are still hanging on the Top 5 of the cup. In another match, the "last placers" Terror Mountain and Haunted Woods clashed and the Chillers regained momentum as Haunted Woods continued to flounder against nearly all the teams. It was still smooth sailing for Krawk Island as they smashed Virtupets, but their continued loss streak in Yooyuball may have an effect on their final place within the bracket.

The Minitheus Bracket had a bit of a shakeup as Kreludor suddenly rose from their ashes of their loss streak to almost hand a sweep to Faerieland - much to the happiness of the Moons' Fans. Faerieland was victorious in Shootout Showdown and happily kept the Moons from a complete sweep. The Altador Suns continued to blaze as they easily swept Lost Desert back into the dust. And Shenkuu continued their surprise sweeping as Maraqua floundered once more.

Rounding off things in the Vaeolus Bracket and once again Tyrannia is becoming the new Kiko Lake as they bested them in all games except Slushie Slinger. There was balance, but not of the good kind as Meidell and Darigan Citadel drew each other out. Moltara continued to lose form and lose it badly as Roo Island easily swept them out of nearly all the games. With the exception of Moltara stealing a much needed win for their team in Yooyuball.

As I said, a bit of a slow day but still - Kreludor Rising. We may see more of them in the coming days. Until then, this is Miko signing off. Good Night Neopia.

Aaarrggghh! Either I'm slowing down (which may be bc of fasting) or the YYB is getting harder to do, but BV (what do they call themselves, the Wizards?) was hard to do today (Wed. June 8th). I hope you other swabbies did spectacular compared to my performance. :sad02: But I did manage to get up in Ranks to Rank 12. :rolleyes_anim:
Odd occurance: while playing my 258th YYB game, I was at 2191 goals- so I was trying to get 9 goals to make an even goal number (my OCD kicks in at the weirdest times) and BV did manage to get a goal but I was happy that I got 10 goals BUT NP made the goal total to be 2200 even instead of 2201. Is this a glitch or should I worry that NP makes these mistakes off and on throughout the AC tournament? :shiftyeyes_anim:
Anyway, good luck Pirates! Finish strong! Happy Gaming everybody!

Trying not to risk a double post no-no here, so today (June 9th, Thurs.) KI is against Virtupets (the Bots?). I was trying hard to do a combination of AC games bc 42 is the cap for YYB and I needed like 51 games of YYB to move up to Rank 13. So I was trying to play more SS (which I still abhor), more MSN (I must have weak wrists or fat pecking fingers that it was HARD today), and more SOSD (not a prob).

So imagine my face when I am playing YYB #307 (the 1 that should Rank me up) and I have my total goals at 2624 and pulled off getting 9 goals and press the Send Score...and I watch my total goals go to 2133 and my YYB games go back to 260??!!!  :sad01_anim: At that same moment, a neomail from theneopetsteam appears at the top of my screen. I go to the message, so trying not to be using bad words (I am supposed to be fasting from doing bad things too, like I don't get a pass to be miserable bc I am fasting, I am learning that I need to help others more to not be in that condition 24/7). Yeah, sorry, open the neomail expecting it was going to be a false accusation about cheating (which really would have pushed me over the edge) but it was only to tell me that a gift item I sent was returned for not being accepted or rejected in the 48 hour time limit. *phew* I went back and my totals went back to goal total 2633 and my games to 307 and I ranked up to Rank 13. WHY NP you play me like that???!!!
Well, it was real today. Ok Pirates, beat those Bots! Happy Gaming everybody!

Welcome to The Daily Neopets' Daily Report on the Altador Cup! I'm Miko, live at the Yooyuball Practice Field where the events are just wrapping up! Today was another interesting day in the world of Yooyuball so let's cut to the chase and head over to the Alabriss Bracket!

The Alabriss Bracket started off with Haunted Woods mimicking Terror Mountain from yesterday and taking a surprise win against Virtupets! But this performance may be a fluke as the Robots seem to be in a bad position as of late. But a win is a win for the Zombies! Terror Mountain meanwhile couldn't repeat their successes as Mystery Island swooped in to take the victory under their noses. Both teams are showing improvements, but those improvements need to come quicker for the Chillers. And in the final match the two leaders of the Alabriss Bracket fought each other to a standstill, with Brightvale clinching Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, but Krawk Island taking Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Both teams are basically evenly matched and the battle for first place this round is going to be intense!

Today the Minitheus Bracket more or less followed a similar pattern to Alabriss Bracket. Maraqua was charbroiled by the high-flying Altador, sealing another win for the Suns and making them look like title contenders. Shenkuu pulled off quite the upset as they took every game but Shootout Showdown from Faerieland, a team ranked much higher than them. Can the Ninjas keep the momentum though is a question for another day. The highlight of the bracket is the stalemate between Lost Desert and Kreludor, which may signal a resurgence for powerhouse Kreludor.

Lastly, the Vaeolus Bracket ended the day with what we all wanted - sweeps. Kiko Lake picked up the pace from yesterday and secured a win against the Darigan Minions - the champions are looking as strong as ever it seems! Moltara seemed to enter a cold period as Meridell took all four games from underneath them. And once again Tyrannia is looking unstoppable as they easily beat Roo Island to earn them another victory. But with Kiko Island in the same bracket, the Fossils' fortunes may be coming to an end.

Well that's it for me today. A rather quiet day, but still exciting nevertheless! This is Miko from The Daily Neopets signing off. I'll be off tonight trying some Yooyuball myself! Good Night Neopia.

Hello all and welcome to the Daily Neopets' Nearly Daily Report on the Altador Cup! And wow... Last week, I said that this cup is telling us to expect the unexpected. Well, that's just what happened yesterday. But as most of you have probably heard it's being echoed a million times, here's the quick version - there was an outbreak of a virus that causes players to have "Multiple Account Disorder" and "Magically Enhanced Physiology", and the ACRC (Altador Cup Rules Committee) is looking out for any behavioral changes.

Crazy right? But the Cup goes on, and so shall the show! Let's leave the drama yesterday and head over to today's games.

The Alabriss Bracket is now a smorgasbord of teams from all over the standings and as a result, some interesting match ups showed up today. Firstly, new title favorites Brightvale easily brought the brooms to Haunted Woods. This is another win under their growing belt, but the accusations are now flying that the Wizards are affected by the plague; I'll just say let the ACRC decide. But one thing needs no debate - the Zombies are in a terrible spot now and it'll take several miracles for them to crawl up the leaderboard.

But the times may be a changing for Terror Mountain as they finally get a victory. Coming in as last place and with terrible performances in the first round, they seemed to be easy prey for Virtupets. But showing determination unlike anything they have shown before, they swamped the support games and though they finally lost in the main event. Chillers' fans are now finally able to taste victory! "About time." Captain Prytariel happily huffed.

And Krawk Island once again shows that their island is better as they won their match against Mystery Island; but once again Mystery Island has not yet dropped a single Yooyuball game. But you can't be sharp in one area and dull in the others in the Cup, so the Natives better step up their performance in the support games.

Minitheus Bracket was the more confusing bracket of the day, as title powerhouses Maraqua and Kreludor continued to slump, getting swept away by Faerieland and Lost Desert respectively. Some conspiracy theorists are theorizing that the slump is due to the plague described by the ACRC; and though while the rumors remain rumors, there has been an increase in ACRC presence in the wing of the Colosseum where both teams are housed. The shocking twists diverted attention caused the game between Altador and Shenkuu to be a rather quiet affair and a sweep in the Suns' favor rounds up this bracket.

The day ended with Vaeolus Bracket and Tyrannia is once again bowling over its competitions as Moltara proved to be no challenge to the Fossils. Darigan Citadel seems to be in an upwards swing as the Minions easily bested the Rooligans in all games but Slushie Slinger. Champions Kiko Lake entered rough waters as Meridell held strong in the Yooyu events to force a draw, though that means they lost more than last year.

And that's all from me. Expect more surprises from the games tomorrow! This is Miko for TDN, signing off. Good night Neopia.

Thanks for supporting KI, Spyke, even if your rl responsibilities limit your time to get to a high rank. Team spirit and just doing a little bit can at least give yourself a boost that some good will come out of your effort. Not everyone can sit at a computer screen all day to max out the caps to lead their team to victory (unless they have decided to give up sleep and wear adult diapers--eww!)  :sick01: I believe every effort you make, whether to play some AC games for only a half hour and go to bed so you can be rested to do your rl job/school or like me, tomorrow starts Ramadan, so I know I will definitely be slowing it down.(I just got back from our extra night prayers, where we start reading a couple of pages of our Holy Book every night together as a community, until we finish reading our entire Book of 114 chapters.) I don't think All Star will be a Rank I'll see this year, but I can put in a little time and hope that will be enough to add in to other players who have more skill & time then I do right now.
How did everyone do against Moltara today? I tried to do more in each category but Slushie Slinger will always be my lowest scoring category. I know now that I will NOT be working in the food industry, thank you NP for teaching me valuable skills of how to hate waiting on customers! :laughingsmiley:Hissi When can I dump the slushies on the Hissi's, Tonu's, Peophin's, or  Ogrin's head! :woot: Make Some Noise is my 2nd least favorite, that could be bc of my dyslexia. All I do when I start is tell that Blue Techo: "You better MOVE! You better Dance!"  :laughingsmiley: Well I hope you other Pirates are burning up the Moltara team! Good Luck everybody & Happy Gaming!

It's a Jelly Day!!!  :woot: Makes it easier to Rank up!   And Pirates swept Moltara -amazing!  :rambo: Please correct me if I am putting out a myth here, but you don't have to send 500+ scores for Slushie Slinger bc the total amounts won't pull you down so you can just get a little over 300 and then End Game and the # of games helps you Rank up. I think you only need to put in 1 goal in SOSD and then End Game and send. This means you don't have to use up a lot of time getting high scores to Rank up.   If I have this right. Chime in if I don't have this right. Pirates are #1  :skull:  We rock!  Happy Gaming everybody!

Hello and welcome to The Daily Neopets' Daily Report of the Altador Games. I'm Miko, now live at the Yooyuball Stadium. The shocks and sweeps continues today, so let's cut straight to the chase.

The Alabriss Bracket started, continued and ended with sweeps. The Tyrannian Fossils utterly crushed the Darigan Citadel Minions with a total shutout on all four games with mostly 3-point differences. The Fossils are currently the only team that hasn't dropped a game in the entire tournament, and they are ready to go the whole six yards to get a flawless victory this round. The Virtupets Robots easily out maneuvered the Shenkuu Ninjas to get the win; the fan favorite Ninjas seems to be unable to get their pace right. And in the last match, Mystery Island finally got back into the groove as they swept the Lost Desert Mummies. Unfortunately, the Natives are up against the Fossils in the last match of Round 1, so their winning rhythm may come to a halt. Unless we have an upset.

The Minitheus bracket had more ups and down though! Defending champs Kiko Lake swung back into the fight after Faerieland's surprise win against them. The Krawk Island Pirates, who until then had enjoyed a winning streak, were trampled under by the vengeful Kikos, just manage to seek out a win in Shootout Showdown. And speaking of Faerieland, the team was not able to get a repeat of yesterday's miracle as the Altador Suns burned them to a crisp.

Today's surprise came in the form of the rock-bottom Haunted Woods, who finally won a game. Unfortunately for them it may have been too little too late as the Zombies, barring a total steamroll of Faerieland, are guaranteed to be in last place in the bracket. The win did, however, reinstate life into Zombie fans who had been as dead as their namesakes before.

Vaeolus Bracket was more predictable though. Maraqua, after the surprise slump yesterday, were back in form as the Rooligans were swamped under in all four games. They still are the fan-favorites to take the cup, despite the unstoppable bulldozer called Tyrannia. Magic overcame might as the Brightvale Wizards rode the enthusiasm from yesterday's win to secure a victory over the Meridell Knights. This underdog team is still full of surprises and large wins are expected from them in the future.

One team that is REALLY desperate for a large win though is Terror Mountain. After being crushed by Maraqua, they seemed to have been snowed under as they lost match after match. They finally edged out Kreludor to get their very first win in Slushie Slingers but the Chillers lost the match in the end and are now officially in last place after Haunted Woods' surprise win.

And that's all the matches for today. See you tomorrow for the finals of Round 1 of the Altador Cup, where I will have the first week's standings and my thoughts on the teams. Until then, this has been Miko for The Daily Neopets. Good night Neopia! And if you'll excuse me, I have an omelette special to go to.

Welcome back to The Daily Neopets' (hopefully) Daily Coverage on the Altador Cup, once again I'm your reporter and host Miko live at the Yooyuball Stadium - and I must first thank our producer Mouseykins for filling in for me when I had some issues yesterday.

Anyway back to the games and let's start off with the Alabriss Bracket. The Darigan Citadel Minions were beaten by the Shenkuu Ninjas - and once again the losing team won Yooyuball but lost everything else. Following that, it was another sweep for Tyrannia as the powerhouse team easily won against the Mummies, though in close fashion. The Mystery Island Natives finally won a match - against Virtupets - with only a loss in Make Some Noise. We tried to catch up with the Techo we interviewed last time, but he was too bamboozled to give us a statement.

The Minitheus Bracket started off rather predictably - Krawk Island continued their winning streak while Haunted Woods continued their losing streak. The Zombies really really need to get their act together if they want to get out of their slump. The next match however was more surprising - last years nearly undefeated champions Kiko Lake lost against Faerieland in the second match. Kiko fans were devastated, as they were hoping for another clean sweep this year. The win for Faerieland has bolstered spirits - the cheers for the team lasted for all night. And finally the Altador Suns staged quite a comeback as they defeated Moltara, finally living up to standards set by pre-game predictions.

The sweeps continued in the Vaeolus Bracket. Kreludor once again showed great form as they handily beat Roo Island, but considering the team's standings, it did not come as much of a surprise. Terror Mountain cracked under pressure once more as the Meridell Knights routed them in all four events. They currently share the worst performance of this year's games with Haunted Woods and if they want to get back to last year's standards, they'd better shake the cobwebs off.

But the big shock of the day happened between the Brightvale Wizards and the Maraqua Mermaids. Maraqua were looking unstoppable, with large-margin wins against Terror Mountain and title contender Kreludor. Brightvale itself had quite a strong showing the past two games but they were the underdogs coming into the match. And the domination was seemingly set to continue, as Maraqua shot out Brightvale in Shootout Showdown. But the Wizards aren't called Wizards for nothing and they staged an almost magical comeback. Fueled by sugary slushies and a win in Slushie Slingers, Brightvale fans brought the roof down and took Make Some Noise. Bolstered by the efforts of fans, the team did not disappoint and a victory in Yooyuball took the wind out of Maraqua's sails. Brightvale fans were elated - chants of "Wizards banish Mermaids!" can still be heard up to this very moment.

And that wraps up today's coverage of the Altador Cup. This day really showed that we should expect both the expected and the unexpected. This is Miko signing off. Good night Neopia!

To God we belong, and to God we return, ameen. May you be placed in the highest station of Jennah, Br. Mohammad Ali, ameen. May your family be surrounded by comfort and peace, ameen. :sad02: Ya Allah! We are missing a hero in our faith now and I hope that some day my faith will be an example like this dear man's was to the world. I am shocked but it makes you really think that every day is truly a gift. My mom told us that he was a respectful and polite man, very humble, as he waited for his turn to speak at a rally that American Muslims were having in Washington, D.C. to protest the plight of Muslims in Bosnia. (She was helping my "aunt" Suada to go before the crowd to testify the atrocities that were happening to Muslim girls and women at the hands of the Serbs). It wasn't a happy occasion to meet under, but Br. Ali said to my "aunt" that her speech (my mom helped her to write it) was "very brave" and that he appreciated her courage to speak up about all the injustice that was happening and thanked her. Of course, I wasn't born yet (my parents got very boring by the time I was born) so that was in the early 90's, when Bill Clinton was president.

AC has "lowered" the caps this year for their games: the max in YYB is 40-42 ; 401 in MSN ; 401 in SOSD; and 84 in SS. So while I am pathetically at rank 2, my sister, mintmilanos, who can do 400 games of SOSD with no problem is already at rank 4. :(
It really depends on your goals, if you really want the best prizes at the end- you might have to make a plan to pace yourself to make it to All Star Ranking. If you just want to have fun, do as much as you want and cheer on your team. :D
As always, Happy Gaming everbody!  Congrats to KI for beating Altador  :rambo: , better luck next time Altador teammates  :rolleyes_anim: !

So I heard about this when flipping around the channels and had stopped on a news channel. Such a shame, but I know he was suffering from Parkinson's, and apparently was recently hospitalized for a respiratory thing.

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/06/03/remembering-muhammad-ali.html?intcmp=hpbt1

He was only 74 though. A friend I was speaking to when the news alert came out, said that he's really "floating like a butterfly now".  Referencing Muhammad Ali's famous line "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee".

That link is the first link I saw with a story and a bit of a history about "the greatest". He was indeed a legend.

Just last year he was named a hometown hero and celebrated in Louisville, he apparently hasn't been out in public much since then. But man, even though 74 is a decent age, still too young to lose such a legend. :(

    May he Rest in Peace.

midnight_spell360 reacted to NixtheWatcher in Maraqua Mauls Mountainers - Sweeps a plenty in the first day of the Altador Cup
Welcome back to The Daily Neopets’ daily report on the Altador Cup. Once again, I'm Miko reporting live from the TDN Sports Center. Well sports fans, the inaugural day did not disappoint as we saw sweeps, surprises, struggles and a whole lot of action! Let's start off at the Alabriss bracket.

The first match of the day was between Darigan Citadel and Lost Desert, and it was a sweep for the Mummies, with one point wins in all categories against the Minions. Lost Desert is once again in a commanding position and Darigan Citadel fans are once again saddened at the lack of improvement. Shenkuu and Mystery Island face off in the second round and though Mystery Island won the Yooyuball event, the Ninjas' amazing performance in the support games clinched the win. Natives' fans were left fuming at this."We won the main event fair and square!" One particular Techo fumed. But the leader of the pack was the Tyrannian Fossils, who swept the Virtupets Robots with clean margins in all four events. Once again, Tyrannia is showing an amazing start to the event, which proves that they are ones to watch this year as well.

Now let's go over to my colleagues for the rest of the results. Over to you guys.

Miko pauses for a few moments, waiting for the transition but suddenly turned his head to look at an offscreen personnel.

Wait… You're telling me what?!... What happened?... So I have to do all of them?... Okay fine...
*cough* Well, viewers… turns out our Altador Cup team is a little short staffed this year. So I'll be doing all the reporting. Now where's the other results…

Miko ducked under the desk and pulled out several objects including a Faerie Paint Brush, a Pirate Draik Egg and several picnic baskets labelled "Miko's Snacks" before finally pulling out the file.

Ah, here we go! Now where we… The Minitheus Bracket… The matches in the group were extremely close but once again sweeps were plentiful. Starting off with Krawk Island and Altador, the Pirates pulled off a sweep, but Altador held strong and in the end they only lost by one points in all 4 games. We can expect strong showings from both teams in the coming days.

The second match saw last years winners and losers clash and once again the Haunted Woods Zombies were swept by the Kiko Lake Kikos. After their devastating fall from grace, the Zombies seem to be struggling with regaining their footing, while the Kikos remained strong from last year, defying the Winner's Curse. Will their ranking remain the same? We will have to find out later. Finally, we have the Faerieland Faeries and Moltaran Magmas and it was a repeat of the Shenkuu-Mystery Island match, with the Magmas taking the main event but Faerieland stealing the title with the support games. And the result was the same - angry fans from the Magmas' side.

And finally we have the Vaeolus Bracket - or the curbstomp bracket as it should be called. First, came the Brightvale Wizards, with their great win over the Rooligans of Roo Island. The Wizards' goalkeeping was on point as they scored more than double of what the Roos achieved. Next up, and even more one sided was the Kreludor Moons with a decisive victory against the Meridell Knights, who were hoping to get a running start, but was left biting the moon dust as Kreludor roared the house down in Make Some Noise.

But the game of the day has to be the utter devastation of Terror Mountain by Maraqua. All four events were won by the Mermaids with eye-popping margins. The results are a major victory for the Mermaids, who have always been a middle bracket team. Earlier, I sat down with Maraqua Team Captain Elon "The Black Hole" Hughlis about this amazing win.

Miko: Captain Elon, welcome to the show and wow. Wow.
    Elon: *grinning brightly* Thanks, Miko.
Miko: What a day it has been for Maraqua. A sweep - no, a total domination of the Terror Mountain Chillers. Nearly double points in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown; Triple points in Slushie Slinger; and a record breaking quadruple in Make Some Noise. How are you guys feeling right now?
Elon: Amazing. We all felt like this was going to be our year, but the results today were better than any one of us expected. I really have to thank all of our fans. That Make Some Noise victory goes out to them.
Miko: You guys now have a target painted on your backs, and all the teams are going to be out for you. How does that make you feel?
Elon: Bring them on I say. We Mermaids have the best start in many years and we are not going to let it go to waste.
Miko: Good luck this year and thank you for coming to the program.

And that was Captain Elon fo the Maraqua Mermaids; and with that, we end our coverage for today. I'll see you again tomorrow and until next time this is Miko, signing off. Good night Neopia and keep your Chillers chilled.
